QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Yeah, the carbs in that are great. Check out amazon for some great deals on protein. I am saving almost 50% over GNC on there. I just grabbed some ON protein and some cliff builder bars for super cheap. Definitely will check that out, thanks for the info. On a side note, just finished some early afternoon plyo and am heading into a recovery week. I am going to use this week and extra yoga time to think about who I hate more: Adam in ab ripper x, or Dominick in plyo

Oh and if your looking for a high protein source thats pretty light, try some Greek Yogurt. Its low fat and packed with protein

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Silly protein supplement question, since it's come up here. Is there a best time to take a supplement if you're going to have one? Replacement for a meal? Before a workout? After workout? much later/much earlier? After a workout is the best time to take it. If you are going to add another shake into your day, they say first thing in the morning is a great time for a protein shake because you obviously weren't putting any protein into your body while you were sleeping. On another note, I can't afford to be buying both protein and recovery drinks all the time, so after a tough workout I often drink a glass of chocolate milk as I have heard that it has everything you need after a workout where you've been sweating a lot.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) That was the best chess match I've ever seen. Tyson is a complete idiot, which helped Russell, but just the fact that Russell was basically inside Rob's mind was terrific. This is awesome. I was cheering. Not only that, but he just seems to be able to pick out the people that he can get to turn, and they always do. He specifically took Tyson aside to say that he was voting for Parvarti, and it worked perfectly. It was bold move giving her the idol as well. I love seeing everyone's face when that vote comes up, and they realize that they have been blindsided by Russell.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) I think his move may win over Coach and they may not be able to get Rob out next, but at least that b*tch Sandra, who I don't even remember. She won on the same season Rupert was on. I liked his little speech to coach before the vote as well to try to sway his vote in the case of a tie.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Russell still the king of Survivor. Boston Rob's smile went away pretty fast. He is just plain brilliant. That may have been the best move I have seen on Survivor. I wonder what he is going to have to do next week to stay alive

QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) I finally got all the stuff together and got started last night. So, that's a lot of pushups but I did enjoy it. I'm expecting the pull-up bar to collapse and me to break a leg or something but other than that it's cool. The trainer dude is hilarious which helps except when he made me laugh a couple times while I'm in the midst of putting everything I've got into a set's last push-up hahaha. Yeah I find him hilarious in KenpoX lol. BTW what kind of soup do you guys make when you do the arm swirley things (I forget the name of the person they are named after) Also, I would really like to do the German chick in the chest and back workout. Plyo tonight, that is all.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Just watched the first one tonight and have the new one on my DVR. Really enjoyed the first one, it will be interesting to see how they handle the series, meaning is it going to be storyline driven or have a lot of stand alone episodes with the big storylines kind of interweaving. Like for the X-Files I preferred the stand alone episodes and actually was never really drawn into the hovering storylines of the series. I was thinking the same thing. I usually get more into series that are storyline driven, so I am hoping that is what they do with this. If any of you guys used to watch the Shield, it kind of started out the same way, with a bunch of seemingly stand alone episodes after the first one. Then it became very storyline driven through each season, and everything was still tied to the 1st episode

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 11:49 PM) I think it is for everyone. I don't think Tony was lying when he said they tried to hire a bunch of hotshots to do it and they couldn't get through it. I have heard stories of professional athletes not being able to complete plyo. I sort of limped through it tonight. Just exhausted from working night shifts combined with waking up early for NCAA tourney basketball. But I feel better now Thats the great thing about these workouts. Whether you get through everything with good form, or you struggle through a lot of things because your tired, you still feel great at the end.

Damn straight. First time I did it I couldn't even finish it. I'm actually doing it tomorrow. My week got real screwed up because of a bunch of stuff that came up, and I had to move plyo day to the end of the week. So its plyo tomorrow and then my first recovery week. Should be interesting to get to do some new things like core syn. You guys already have me living in fear of CST

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) Agreed, I think they are really laying the groundwork for some good story lines with these early episodes. I feel like they are setting up something big with Walton Goggins character later in the season. His whole speech in the hospital bed made me think that something big will happen with him down the road

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) It's funny. When I saw Dana make that call I was saying to myself "No, don't do it. Don't be the terrorists on the other end...Ugh." I don't hate it hate it, but it's old and boring. It's been used and they didn't need to go there. I really hate her character though so it doesnt bother me as much because it just makes it easier to dislike the character I guess. I've really enjoyed the season so far though so hopefully it continues well despite "new" twist. She reminds me of two face from Seinfeld. When she was dealing with her ex bf she was like the ugliest girl ive ever seen, but when she was doing something normal, like just working, she wasn't bad. I was very annoyed with her whole plotline throughout the show anyways. The show needs more Jack Bauer, and less ugly chicks that I don't care about who are involved in stories that don't have anything to do with the plot of the show

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 22, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) One day down. I can safely say I hate diamond pushups and divebomber pushups. Nice. Divebomber pushups will get better once you get used to the form a little bit more. As for diamond pushups, they will probably always suck

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 22, 2010 -> 04:54 AM) I know the show gets good ratings, but nowhere near enough people are watching it. Bryan Cranston is such a great actor. He's won the last two Emmy's for best actor, and I can honestly say I've been emotionally invested in rooting for him. Who would have thought the dad from Malcolm in the Middle would be that great?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:43 PM) Are we supposed to be impressed by this? I'm not gonna lie, I kind of am...lol

I'll be working the weekends for awhile, so that'll mean less empty beer calories. Did some shoulders, tris, and bis today. After this week, it'll be my first rest week, then onto the 2nd phase Thinking about getting some 2 and a half lb weights to increase just a little bit on some of the bi and tri exercises.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) Carlos Lee, Magglio Ordonez, Jermaine Dye in the OF. I tell you what, they'll hit 110 home runs between them, and they'll be the worst defensive OF in history. I think they should have had to pick at least one guy who could play CF.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 01:04 AM) Dunno if this thread should still be up since Winter is over.. All new episode of South Park was on yesterday. Not bad, not great, though they made Tiger Woods hilarious in it.. Possible snow a week from Saturday, so don't pronounce winter dead yet

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) You don't just try coke at what, 53? Considering the era Wash played in i'd be willing to be this isn't the first time it's touched his nose. Mid-life crisis? LOL And less action taken on recreational drug use doesn't bother me at all. Steroids give players a competitive advantage that is unfair to players that are clean. Recreational drugs do not give an advantage, and most likely hurt performance. I say let them destroy their own bodies if they want to, as long as it doesn't make them better at baseball

QUOTE (juddling @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) FWIW, i heard he's only around for a handful of episodes. not sure if that means he'll be killed off or just disappear and come back later I hope he makes it for most of the season at least. From how the first episode played out, they could set up a pretty hefty plot line involving his character. From the commercials, they made it look like Goggins was a pretty big character in the show along with Olymphant

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) I did that this weekend too, get back at it. Eat clean, work out hard, it'll catch up. CST sucks at points, my shoulders get completely wasted, but i LIKE it. I have always had problems with my shoulder. I always feel like I have hurt them, as opposed to when I do other muscles they might feel sore and tired, but never like they are hurt. It has gotten to the point where it affects other muscle groups when I do them on the same day as shoulders. I'm hoping not to have to resort to using bands for shoulder, but we'll see. And Iamshack, show her your rockstar kick, she'll be yours forever

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Anybody watch Justified tonight? Hell yeah. I dug the first episode. I hope the continue a storyline in this series though, because from the season preview it looks like they skip around a lot.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) f*** you CST. Take your two twitch speed pushups and your weighted circles and shove them both up your ass. Haha can't wait til I get to that. I partied a little too hard the St. Pat's Day weekend so I missed about 2 days Got back to it today though. Anybody else love Kenpo? I think its a blast. I killed it today. Just need to get my kicks a little bit higher overall and I'll be happy

Who was the most reviled current Sox here
The Gooch replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) As much as I hated him last year, its hard to rank a guy at the top who hit a walk-off home run in the World Series. I don't get the hate for Pods, even last year. Yes he did make a lot of baserunning mistakes, but he was one of the few guys that were regularly on base for us. He was one of the few bright spots on a piss poor offense. As for my most reviled player, I will have to go with Linebrink as well. Anyone who blows such a large lead against the Cubs goes straight to crap list, and it becomes pretty hard to get off after that. I would call Linebrink my mot reviled player since Billy Koch took the mound for us.
