QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Not sure. My advice would be to bite the bullet and order it from beachbody. If you want, you can pay in installments, so it doesn't seem as harsh. Trust me, after week 2, you're going to be like "damn, I am glad I did this." Gooch, you have any regrets? No way, it is worth it for the energy boost alone. If you can find time to do it in the morning before work/school, you will feel better all day. I have felt just generally better since starting it. Even if you don't have time to do it in the mornings (which often haven't) the results have been worth it. I have already increased my pullups, pushups, and stamina and I am only at the end of my 2nd week/beginning of third.

I enjoy legs and back much more than last week because I've gotten most of the initial soreness out of my body. Last week I was majorly sore, and the workout was quite painful. Felt great this week, even busted out about 10 more pullups than last week
  3. Some people just feel the need to complain. The sad thing is, it is the small minority of people who are "offended" or complain that usually end up getting their way. As the ultra sensitive society that we have become, we let a small amount of whiners control what we do, and we often change against what the majority actually wants.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) Colby on Survivor is weak. They do a competition and the winner gets a choolate feast. Probst offers every player a sample of chocolate. Colby declines it and says he is focused and just wants to get the challenge started. Has a stare down with Probst. Probst then says that the Heroes team has to sit out a guy. Colby: "I'll sit." WTF Yeah I was pretty confused by that as well. I was surprised when James got hurt and they didn't let Colby sub in for him.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) No, just once. The rest week schedules you to do Yoga/Core/Kenpo/Stretch/Core/Yoga/Stretch I just subbed out the stretch with the plyo. As for yoga, I basically just do the first 45 minutes. You don't find that challenging, especially the last few moves of the vinyasas? If you really can't stand it, I think Rock may have some suggestions for you. Or you can go to beachbody.com and look at the message boards for alternatives. Of course, you could also sub out yoga for cardioX or Core... It is definitely somewhat of a challenge, its just after 20 straight minutes of doing the same thing with small variation to it gets boring. I enjoy every other workout for the variety of moves that you perform. I have never been one who just likes to run on a treadmill for an hour, I like variety. Every other one of the dvd's has pushed me in so many different ways. After every session, I feel like I have pushed myself to the limit on everything I have done, which is great because I don't usually feel like that after the gym. Now I know that Yoga isn't supposed to be like the rest on workouts, and has its own purpose, but its just not working for me so far. I've gotten about 30 mins through it so far, and I would compare it to sitting through the previews at the movies...but the movie never actually starts (again not saying it isn't hard, just saying that is seems very repetitive with very slight variations each time). I will probably try it again in my first rest week, and see if I can change my mind and learn to like it.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) Woo! How about a little plyo on your stretch day! Although I learned to not try too hard to do Dominick's crazy superjumps....i think I may have tweaked something in my back....it went away in the middle of the workout, but we'll see how it feels when I cool down a bit. Regardless, love the way I feel after plyo! Hope your back is ok. You probably won't be able to tell until the morning. So is that twice this week you have done plyo? Because if it is, you are a champ. On my end, I think I'm about done with yoga. I am going to start replacing it with something at the gym, although I'm not sure what yet. Its just so repetitive and boring. After about 20-25 minutes of doing the same moves I get bored and have to stop. I think I could get much more out of this with some extended stretching and then some cardio.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) I'm going to give "Justified" on FX a chance, the commercials have done enough to draw me in. Plus I really like the 2 actors that are featured in it. Timothy Olymphant, and then Walton Goggins who was fantastic in the Shield.

QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) I'm gonna give this a shot. I'd like to drop about 15 extra pounds I've been carrying since college and with my 30th birthday just around the corner, there's all the inspiration I need. I've been running 12-20 miles a week for the past 2+ years and have really just fluctuated around the same weight give or take 5 pounds, which has been frustrating. After reading through some of the P90X literature, this has happened because I haven't been eating enough and also the eating schedule that I follow sucks. It's really tough for me to swallow anything before 10am. I eat a small lunch (a bagel or a small sandwich), then snacks when I get home (not good ones) followed by a large meal during which I generally gorge myself. For roughly 4-5 years, I've only very rarely had soda, mostly just water. Sooo, we'll see how this goes. How do you guys handle it if you're going out of town for a weekend, or you're having company over? Do you just pick up where you left off? Go back a few days? Also are the protein drinks/bars necessary or is this just the company trying to make some extra loot? I just started but this is happening to me this weekend. I will be gone for 2 days, and I am planning to just pick up where I left off. So, since I am scheduled for Kenpo on Sunday, I will do it on Monday instead, and start chest and back up again on Tuesday. Essentially I am just moving my rest day up (and taking two of them probably) and picking it back up on Monday where I left off. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but I am not going to try and make a habit out of doing this, as I have already notice progress from week 1 to week 2 and I want to keep it going. BTW, did ab ripper X again today, and yeah Adam is a jerk lol. I also don't like how the guy with the prosthetic leg can out perform me on plyo.
  9. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Was it even money as to which of the Two Coreys would kick first, or is this a dark horse death? Feldman has been clean for a while I think, but Haim has been a mess for years. Might have to watch the Lost Boys tonight.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) Great that you finished though! Congrats! The rock star I feel is sort of counterproductive (seems like an easy way to hurt yourself), but I do it anyways. CST is brutal, but Plyo is brutal in its own right. I am on my "rest" week between phase 2 and 3. Forgot how much "fun" Core is... Haven't gotten to a "Rest week" yet, but I bet the the name is deceiving. BTW is this your 1st or 2nd time through the program?

Actually finished plyo this week. Granted I made several of the exercises 20 seconds long instead of 30, but definitely an improvement from last week. That rock star jump is hard as hell. I love the sports exercises at the end. They really pumped me up to finish the workout strong. And if CST is the hardest workout like you say it is Rock, then I am dreading week 5 lol

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) Way to go, Gooch! I know it's only been a week, but how do you feel after week 1? Well my entire body is sore to some extent (more my lower body right now), but it has done wonders for my energy. I think the initial soreness in my legs and shoulders affected my performance on the later workout (for example sore shoulder made yoga hard, and sore legs made legs and kenpo pretty tough at some points), but once my body gets used to it and the soreness fade more quickly I know everything will improve. Overall, it has affected my mood the most as I am much more energetic overall. I've also lost about 2-4 lbs already (hard to tell as weight fluctuates) just by doing the workouts and cutting out junk food. Although, I could improve my dinners a little bit more, as I had spaghetti with meatballs, and pizza this week lol.

Really enjoyed Kenpo. Ive always hated just running for cardio, this gives you something to do while getting your heart rate up. Hopefully I will be able to kick a little higher by the end of this thing. Anyways, 1st week is done, on to week 2 Monday!

Did Legs and back today. Tough work out, but felt good. Quick question for the P90X vets. I have been doing the first 2-4 sets of pullups without the chair (I have been doing from 3-6 pullups). Then I do the 2nd round (and part of the first round in the case for legs and back today) with the chair. How many pullups do you guys do where your at now, and when did you stop using the chair all together?

Well you all were right. Most of my body is sore. I expect my entire body to be sore by tomorrow after shoulders and arms

Just did plyometrics for the first time. Made it about three quarters of the way through before my form became so bad I had to stop. Im enjoying pushing myself to my limits though. I haven't done that in a long time. Hopefully I can walk tomorrow lol.

Did my first day today. Chest and back. I am DEAD. I am dreading the pain I will be in tomorrow. I was a little disappointed in the amount of pullups I could do, especially on the 2nd round. Didn't even make it into ab ripper at the end, hopefully i will be able to get there next week.
  22. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Sometimes I wonder if they actually have meetings dedicated to what players/teams they should worship each season to the exclusion of all logic. I think they probably don't, it's probably a virus that travels through ESPN, but they sure act like it's an orchestration. And have you ever actually sat down and watched ESPN from 330 to 5 or 6. Rome, Around the Horn, and PTI all talk about exactly the same things (with the exception of Rome occasionally going off track and talking about some original subjects), and then they usually open Sportscenter with the same topics! I actually like most of the personalities on those shows (with Jay Mariotti being an exception) but they could vary the topics a little bit.
  23. ESPN has become like the E! and TMZ of the sports world. They overanalyze every small aspect of anything that even has potential to be controversial.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) **cough** torrents **cough** Ive tried to download torrents before and it never really works out for me lol. I get the files downloaded and it always goes downhill from there. They seem to be a lot more complicated than good ole Napster or Limewire.
