  1. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Hmm, businesses can't afford to pay someone so they could just do without which is cutting off everyone from gaining any experience. Instead, they will offer for free mentorship, supervision, and references to someone willing to put in some effort. Students are willing to pay huge sums of money for theoritical knowledge, but want to be paid for gaining practical experience? Well some companies use the internships as free labor instead of a learning experience. In other words, they use interns to do simple tasks for free where there isn't much learning involved, instead of giving them any real responsibilities or learning experiences. I think those are the type of unpaid internships they want to get rid of.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) I just do them on my knees... How funny is that Bill guy? You can tell he totally thinks Tony is a showoff... Tony gets pretty insane on those clap pushups...
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Why is it Linebrink gets crap for his struggles, but guys like Garcia get away with being worse? I think Linebrink will shock this board and be decent this year. Because Linebrink was terrible for the majority of the regular season last year. If Freddy is bad the first few games of the season, he will get his share of crap as well.

Did my first Shoulders, tris, and chest workout today. It was pretty badass. Can't really do the one arm pushups though...
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) I think the merge is coming next week. They usually show the merge in the previews now, but who knows
  6. Villains look like they will fall apart next week. Didn't seem like there was any conflict within Russell's main alliance though. If they were smart, they would throw the reward challenge, just so Russell has no shot at finding the idol

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 06:38 PM) I just do the first half. I don't do the balance postures. Haha I suck at the balance postures. The end of the dvd has some solid core/ab work though (but its not like we don't get enough of that through core syn, and ab ripper x)

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) Well, just got Yoga out of the way for the day. I actually like Yoga, with the exception of that damned Warrior 3. But it is always a pleasure watching Audra. I just wish it wasn't so damn long.

    24

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) I love 24, but it's easy to see they have run the gambit on different types of terrorists attacks. Excited for the movie however. Being a Seinfeld fan, I would put Kramer in the top ten. Although Seinfeld was so great b/c of writing and character cohesion, Kramer to me still made that show. See now I would go with George. You can't lose with him or Kramer though
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) I've watched up to the second episode, and as I posted earlier, I think it depends on the show. I far and away preferred the stand alone X-Files over the heavy central storyline ones, albeit the sci-fi genre probably lends a little more to that... I would like to see a balance in Justified, I hate shows like that that get bogged down in central story-lines because IMO they tend to drag on and move way to slowly, I think with his ex, Ava and them deciding not to kill Goggins character they can do a nice mix of central storyline and good stand alone stories I'm guessing that they will build to a central story line. I think they are just trying to develop the characters a little bit. They will probably have a few more random episodes. and tie back into the Goggins character at the end of the season. Then maybe they will go through season 2 with one story line.

QUOTE (Stocking @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 12:47 AM) alright im in. already in good shape, but the gym is getting stale. i find my motivation thinning, so lets go. I did plyo sunday just to see what p90 was about, i barely finished. I did chest& back monday. I only have one heavy band and found the lift portion to be too easy. I ordered a set of 5 connectable bands, hope that works cause bells are $$. My calves were extremely sore yesterday and today but i pushed through another round of plyo to stay inline with the program. I may continue to lift at the gym but am afraid that may be over kill. anywho, glad to be apart. I didn't even finish plyo my first time, so you did better than me my first week.

Today was day 26 and I just Cor Syn as well. Pretty exhausted...
  13. I never really got Futurama or American Dad. I have seen some episodes of both, and they never really did it for me. The only animated shows that I still watch are Family Guy, and occasionally the Life and Times of Tim on HBO
  14. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) The 3 animated shows I enjoyed were American Dad, Futurama, and King of the Hill and right now none of those are having new episodes. Although the first 2 should hopefully both be having new episodes in near future. Simpsons has been bad for a long time and Family Guy actually has been pretty terrible too. I find King of The Hill absolutely hilarious and I still watch the reruns on cartoon network when I have time. I'm sorry they canceled it, especially since the Simpsons are still on. Being on this long has definitely hurt the shows legacy. It was "the" animated show in the 90's, but it has just gotten so ridiculously bad. It doesn't matter how much longer they go, they took it too far years ago. Anyways, 24 was a very good episode tonight. Actually, until that episode I was semi-bored with this season and was thinking that it was about time to go, but tonight was great, and if the rest of the season keeps going strong I will be very sorry to see it go. It has been very hit or miss these last few years though, as opposed to the first 5 years when it was mostly gold. Pretty excited for Justified tomorrow as well. That has been pretty solid so far. Winter/Spring has a lot of good shows going on that I can barely find time to watch and baseball is just around the corner.

Core Syn was much tougher than something I expected in a "recovery week." Gotta say though, I loved it. I was doing those complex lunge moves with 10's, and I'll be damned if those things don't get pretty darn heavy after almost 3 minutes.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) Yeah, I'd use that word on Season 2 and I still will. People tend to forget what an innovative idea 24 was in the first few seasons. We are so used to it now, but the format of the show was completely unique, and the first few seasons were great. I wish that they could have come up with some new storylines in the later seasons because after awhile it just seemed like they were recycling material. Hopefully the move turns out well...
  17. The perfect game because of the pressure that is added on to it. There is not a lot of pressure in striking out a lot of guys once the first hit gets on base. There is a reason why a lot of guys make it to 7 or 8 innings of no hit ball and give one up in the last few innings. Those last 3 outs are the hardest to get. Withstanding the pressure makes it a more impressive feat to me. Given all of that, Wood was completely dominant in that 20 strikeout game. Comparing the two performances is like apples and oranges.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 07:56 AM) Anyone else who does Yoga X here find that their knee(s) go numb during some of the longer moves where you are standing on one leg, such as the triangle pose or Warrior 3 (and the rest of that sequence)? The last few times through it I have felt my right knee numbing up, and it still sort of felt strange last night when I was doing Legs & Beck. Not sure if I should continue with that routine or not... Today is Day 69...only 3 weeks left! No, but it can get pretty tough on my quads. I have also realized that I have no balance from this routine. Gotta work on that.. Im working weekends at the moment, so doing core syn for the first time tonight, pretty excited to try a new one!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) Was it really necessary for his Con Air character to have the worst accent in movie history??? Drop da bunnnnyyy!!!! Ugh, that movie alone makes me hate him. Blasphemy! How dare you doubt the brilliance of the great Con Air?!
  20. 92 The offense isn't going to be great and everyone is pretty aware of that (especially if Teahan keeps batting below .100). I think that whether or not this team makes the playoffs depends on our bullpen, especially Bobby Jenks. With our offense being bad, and our pitching staff being so good, a lot of the games we win will be very close, so the bullpen will have to hold close leads and Jenks will have to be able to close out games.
  21. This was a fun sporcle quiz for anyone who wants to try it. Show Mark's durability as well. He is the only player to have 300 or more starts for one team http://www.sporcle.com/games/deej/pitching2000

I have to admit that I was wrong about Yoga X. I hated it at first and found it annoying, but after completing the whole thing this week, I actually like it. I'm glad that I gave it another chance.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) It's a monthly scam, basically. It is a workout done by Tony in his home gym. You get 1 per month for $19.95. Not cheap, but I want to build a collection so I can craft a long-term program. One on One Looks pretty interesting. I agree that insanity looks like it could be a good supplement to a long term program as well, but no at that price. Should be interesting to see what you come out with once it is all said and done

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Just ordered the One on One series, thinking of ordering Insanity, too. Starting to think about designing a long-term program for after I finish P90X, and I figure the more material I have to draw from the better. What is the one on one series?
