  1. Betancourt was looking dead red all along and Sergio threw that to the middle of the plate. Brutal. Tied game.
  2. In their minor observations, why do they have Kris Honel still in that picture??? I haven't posted over there since 06. Their minor league info stinks over there. Much better here.
  3. hmmmmm..... Danks Floyd Jackson Buehrle SALE?!?!? Not bad.
  4. Seriously...can we let Sale start a game or two?
  5. Hopeful that the Sox will take a look at him.
  6. Gotta remember about the Thome/Rowand trade. At the end of 2005, getting a left handed power hitter was viewed as a need. So that's why the Sox did what they did. Thome playing for three years paid some dividends, esp the Central Division in 08. Too bad though, Thome should have won a WS with the Sox.
  7. Has anyone seen the red band Pirahna 3d video yet? NSFW, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
  8. Surprise and Shock and Awe, Cena is the only one that beats a Nexus guy!!!
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) The Sox have been talking about taking things out of the way the Twins run things since at least 2005. See, then it's working!
  10. Reading Seller's twitter, looks like some teams also matched the Sox on spending on the draft this year. Yet he calls Detroit "erratic" when they spent twice as much. Even if the Sox did sign Grimes and Terry I bet the bonus amount would have been around 4.5 - 5 mil altogether. Judging by recent history I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox did draft Grimes and Terry again in 2-3 years.

Question for our "prospect experts". Is Morel as equal as Robin Ventura defensively? Do you think Morel can become that well versed defensively? If Morel can hit for a high average and hit 10-15 HRs every year and play great defense at 3rd, that would be very, very good for the Pale Hose.
  12. I really think it's an organizational approach; from drafting to managing players. They do things that produce results. Now they haven't won a WS since 91 but they have been a thorn in our side for so long. I really wish the Sox can start taking a page or two out of the way Minnesota runs things and duplicate that on the South Side, just like how the Blackhawks have taken a page or two from the Red Wings.

The only thing I would love Escobar to keep improving is getting on base more. A .320 OBP won't work wonders. But, the glove will work on his behalf I guess!
  14. Well he has more walks than strikeouts, so that's positive site. Would love to see a half decent 1b prospect in our farm system.

Maybe Morel can be our number 2 hitter next year? Especially since he hits on contact and if his glove is already mlb-caliber.
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:08 AM) IF YOU WANNA CROWN THEIR [bEEP]es THEN CROWN'EM! AND WE LET 'EM OFF THE HOOK!
  17. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:23 AM) THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! dam, beat me to it Matt. Seriously, we're watching the real team now.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) Brenly using the old "Rockies are having someone tip them off to the pitch" excuse Yeah, its' "we can't find the corners, just the middle of the plate" tip from the Flubs.
  19. FINALLY IT'S OVER!!! lolol
  20. man I thought I was the only one watching this horror show. this is incredible. This is about the third time they are flashing the scoreboard. Funny thought, my wife just woke up (went to bed early @ 9) for a drink of water, looked at the TV screen and mumbled "Cubs suck". And she isn't a baseball fan all that much.
  21. 13 straight hits by the Rox in the bottom of the 8th. Wow.

Sale, 2/3 of an inning, 2ks. So in 5.1 IP in Charlotte, he has 12 Ks?!?!?!?
  23. hmmmm....good point. Just heard it on my radio though, so.....dunno. Seems that Mr. Justice forgot that too, or was thinking sentimental about Berkman possibly staying in TX.
  24. Heard on 104.9 The Horn in Austin TX: Houston Chronicle writer Richard Justice said that the best bet for Lance is to be traded to the Rangers to fill in the 1b hole now that Justin Smoak was traded earlier this month. You can also read Justice' s blog @ http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/ It makes sense. The Rangers have a hole in 1b and if Lance is traded to the Rangers, it would keep him in Texas which he was born in New Braunfels (Between Austin and San Antonio), went to Rice U in Houston and was drafted by the hometown 'Stros.
