QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) Warsaw is more modernized, if you really want the history and old-world Poland, Krakow it should be I've never been I have just read numerous places Krakow has a more vibrant art and music scene from what I've read.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) Im currently studying abroad in Rotterdam, Netherlands and one of my friends and my brother are joining me in April to travel around Europe. Im just looking for advice on the places we are planning on visiting: Lisbon Barcelona Casablanca Berlin Warsaw Vienna Brussels/Bruges Any advice on those places, like festivals, good locations, bars, food, etc. We chose these places since my friend already has been to many places and wanted to visit places he hasnt been to yet. THanks in advance! I've heard Krakow is a better city to visit over Warsaw.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) The Pittsburgh Steelers are the model franchise in all of sports in my mind. The Yanks have always had the money to spend and the large market. In a league of hard cap aprity they are always right there. Look at the success the Steelers have had. Hell in the last ten years they can go toe to toe with Pats and the 30 before that, forget about it. They are what the Raiders could have been. I think they are grossly underrated and the Rooney's are the reason why. 3 coaches in the last 40 years. Stop rubbing it in.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) By liberals, because they want to continue this pipe dream that no real candidate will challenge Obama. She polls quite well with the current potential hopefuls. There isn't a clear front runner on the GOP side.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 09:36 AM) Palin is stupid, and needs to be ignored. She continues to be popular because people continue making her popular. She was the singular reason why I completely dismissed being able to vote for McCain in the last election. After he chose her as his running mate, he was removed from consideration. It's hard to ignore someone that is considered one of the front runners for the GOP Presidential nomination and: - Is all over a major News network - Is highly visible and active in social media - Has her own TV show - Had her her daughter on one of the highest rated shows on TV

I've never gone to ST but would love to some day. Are there travel packages offered by the Sox or travel agencies?

It's astounding that this woman has a highly possible chance at being a presidential candidate in 2012: Sarah Palin Thinks The USSR Won The Space Race Also, while browsing through some of the comments I noticed this unrelated bit of info that is pathetically true about Fox News. They always refer to her as Governor Palin on that network but mostly refer to the President as simply Obama. What a joke.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 08:31 AM) I wouldn't say he carried his team. He only has 8 touchdowns in this years playoffs and 800 yards passing. Thats really average. Indeed. A complete non-factor. It was all about their running game.

This week, Draft Magazine released its list of "America's 100 Best Beer Bars," and five bars from the Chicagoland area made the list: The Map Room, 1949 N. Hoyne Ave Don't be overwhelmed by this travel-themed bar's more than 300 beer offerings, because a friendly bartender will help you make a decision. Draft mag loves that the Map Room offers beer classes and international nights as well. Firkin, 515 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, Ill. "Firkin might stand outside Chicago's city line, but its beer selection's anything but suburban," says Draft mag. Firkin offers a variety of 55 bottles and 30 taps. Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St. This bar offers more than 35 craft beers on draft and a whopping 250bottles from North America, Belgium and the rest of Europe. Hopleaf's food menu is a winner as well. Sheffield's, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave. With 38 taps, one of the best beer gardens in town and great barbecue--what's not to like? Every Wednesday night, stop by to see Bob Egan working the beer school bar. Egan allows customers to taste new local and seasonal brews. Local Option, 1102 W. Webster Draft says the Local Option has "how-the-heck-did-they-get-them collections of Mikkeller, Three Floyds and Bluegrass limited releases."

Bears versus Packers game thread
BigSqwert replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
On Dec. 11, 1983, Mike Singletary lost the tip of the middle finger on his left hand, had it stitched back on and demanded to return to Chicago's game at Minnesota. Adding to the legend, a half-crazed Singletary returned with a wrapped-up hand and began screaming at Vikings OL Dave Huffman, telling him the Vikings wouldn't score. Minnesota didn't score. The Bears won, 19-13. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) Hines Ward, one of the toughest players in the league, left the 2009 AFC championship game with an MCL sprain and didnt return. So are we going to just go back and forth citing examples of which players left important games with injuries and which one continued to play through them? -
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) Went to a Girl Talk concert last night. It was insane. My favorite parts were around the 8:10 and 12:50 marks in this video. Seriously, if he ever plays anywhere near any of yall, go see him. For those who don't know, this guy (it's just one dude, but goes by the alias "girl talk") samples all sorts of music (from the Beatles and Steve Winwood to Three 6 Mafia and Biggie), and mashes it together. Did you grab his latest mix, "All Day", that I posted in the music thread a few weeks back? Probably his best one yet.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) You shouldn't waste your time on people like that. While I understand it would feel good to punch a douche that says something rude to your girl, it solves nothing, and can end up being costly, and even life ruining. There just is no point. I have too much to lose to bother with people like that. True. Punching them would be some good material for "When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong" episodes.
