  1. Have you tried contacting the White Sox for this info?
  2. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) Eternal Sunshine wasn't original either. And neither are you.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) By your rational, nobody is. Not really. Gaspar Noé, Michel Gondry, and Guillermo del Toro are examples of originality.
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Also, Irreversible wasn't even about a person with short term memory loss, which is the entire concept behind Memento. I didn't say the plot was the same. They "backwards" style of the film was. That was the gimmick for each of those films.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:36 AM) The Matrix wasn't original either, in story, you can keep going back and saying every movie lifted ideas from other movies...so what? The originality comes into play in how it was set designed/filmed and edited, the same with the Matrix so far as bullet time, but other than that, there was nothing original there. And irreversible was a failure and complete crap, Memento wasn't. My point still stands. Nolan isn't very original IMO.
  6. Glad to see Exit Through the Giftshop was nominated for an Oscar.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 07:31 AM) What I really like about Nolan is his tendency to attempt originality in an era of almost none. Memento and Inception are excellent movies, and the more you watch them, the more you catch and the more it all begins to make sense. While the main theme of Inception is far fetched, so what...most movies are far fetched, so why people are using those words to describe this particular movie baffles me when everything out there is far fetched, but lacks originality or creativity. The style used in Memento is a rip off of from the film Irreversible. He did an almost shot for shot remake of Insomnia. Inception is a movie that uses elements from a ton of sources such as the Matrix. I don't think of originality when I think of Nolan and I'm a big fan of his.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) I think Chico is your only other alternative. If Braun wins (and she's currently polling second behind Rahm)....ugh, God help us all. Every time that woman talks I feel dumber. The polls will drastically change if Rahm is out. I think a lot of his votes would go to Chico.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) Can't tell if you're being facetious, but it doesn't look like any kind of security was used. I was not being facetious at all. I don't think there is anyway this could be prevented with a body scanner.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) So now we're made at Jay because he didn't put on a show? I'm not mad at him and I didn't expect a show. I expected him to really want to play no matter what. Maybe it's that indifferent look he gives off.
  11. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) Did you read this? That's what would have bothered me most if I were a Bears fan. The guy was walking around with no discernible limp and didn't look like he was in any pain. If he was told that they were going with the backup I would have wanted to see him go nuts on the sideline telling Lovie that there's no way he's sitting this one out.
  12. Not sure where else to out this. The 50 Most Loathsome Americans of 2010
  13. What we saw in Moscow today proves to me that these body scanners are a waste of money. Stick to the metal detectors and x-ray machines and call it a day.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) No one has ever played injured before! Especially in the NFL. I'd say at least 40% of the players on the field are playing with some sort of injury at any given time.
  15. Injuries that severe require a lot of healing.
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) I saw Any Given Sunday, and Willie Beamen helped Cap Rooney more in that one half of football than Cutler helped backups his entire career. Willie had the big headset on, was doing hand signals, and reviewing snapshots with Dennis Quaid CONSTANTLY, in practically every camera shot...Cutler did none of this! :D
  17. The Jay Cutler debate going on in the other thread is eerily similar to the one that we had in here when this tragedy first occurred.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) And people tear things all the time. You tear connective tissue and ligament fibers from stretching alone. Just because there was tearing, doesn't mean it was some terribly debilitating injury. Ultimately, none of us will know, because we are not Jay. But jeesh, as Ptatc mentioned, they certainly didn't seem to concerned about treating him on the sidelines. As evidenced by him walking around the sidelines seemingly healthy.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) I have hung out with the ghost of Johnny Unitas and the corpse of Al Davis. What assholes. Tell Al I say hello.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) I hang out with Big Ben all the time, and hes a colossal douche bag. Payton Manning is also my godfather. And Favre is my best friend.
