Michael Jackson still dead.
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) I had a personal boycott on buying his music because I wouldn't help fund his pedophile actions. Now I am free. Yet you continue to make contributions to the church.

Tidbits from Today's Winner Vs. Dodgers
QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:13 AM) i don't know if it's trying to establish an arbitrary rivalry as much as its trying to take advantage of the dodgers' national fanbase. Well it didn't seem effective since the stands were as full as a Royals game.

Where would you move to?
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 12:54 AM) There's a chance I might move to Seattle. I just submitted my resume for a position with Amazon. I'd move there in a heartbeat.

Tidbits from Today's Winner Vs. Dodgers
Good read on the forced Dodgers excitement. Sox marketing trying to establish an arbitrary rivalry that doesn't exist and charge us extra.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 05:29 PM) I'm going to put this in here because a lot of people reading this likely have pretty nice DVD/speaker systems. I got a new DVD home theater system, and I have it working just fine while playing DVD's. The thing is that I want to get the speakers to work while just watching TV. If it helps, this is the system I got: http://www.lge.com/us/tv-audio-video/home-...stem-LHT854.jsp Any help would be appreciated. I'd just call their 800#

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Look I just wanna make clear I understand some people just get f***ed over and really need help and support. I fully support helping them if they need help in any way. I just feel it should not be easy to receive free support. IMO, there are a lot of people in this country, and mostly in our generation, who would rather do the minimum because they can get away with it and will be helped rather than do extra to get ahead or be on their own. And although it doesn't go with your post I do believe minors should have some sort of funded healthcare. You can't just blame that on poor people. Rich people take advantage in other areas (i.e., taxes).

Healthcare reform
So now we're blaming millions of uninsured on laziness?

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) I wouldn't call it "discretionary", as having that health insurance was a priority. I would have loved to have had that extra 100+ per month in my pocket, but I went without it so I could have the insurance. I would have paid 300$ for it, and found a way to make do without that 300$ if that's what it took. The issue is, a lot of people CAN afford health insurance, but since they aren't "forced" to get it they don't bother trying -- nor will they do without that extra 200$, even if they could, they choose not too. Well point is that just because you can do something doesn't mean everyone can. People have different circumstances and you shouldn't assume that since it was somewhat easy for you to get that it would be just as easy for anyone else.

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) He said he could have bought his own insurance but just didn't feel like and wouldn't have blamed anyone else. Back when I used to do consulting work in 2002-2004, I opted to buy my own insurance from Blue Cross, I paid a little over 100$ a month and I was fully covered. Well that's great that you did but not everyone is as fortunate as you are with an excess of discretionary income.

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) Did I b**** about it or complain? No. Maybe you would b**** and complain if you had 3 kids and no health insurance. But I guess you can pick up a 2nd or 3rd job and pay for health insurance out of pocket.

Gordon Beckham's Last 15 Games
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) THat was a horrible trade. I picked him up as well, but my teams really suck. Just pick up Wise. It's all the same.

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Well, I am ok with that and I'll openly say so. I didn't sit on my front porch drinkin' 40z with my boyz when I was younger, I went to the free public school system so I could learn something and get a job, then worked 2 part time jobs when going to college full time so I could build a future I may have never seen -- and now I'm not f***ing apologizing because my family is covered. Well at least you got to throw in a not-so-subtle racial jab. Good for you.
