The really bad advice thread
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) I'm about to launch my new website that is sure to make me a millionaire. It's called "freeTwenties.com" and it's fairly self-explanatory. Visitors to the site register and I'll send them each a $20 bill. It probably sounds like that will require a lot of capital, but I'll have the retailer's secret going for me. . . volume, volume, VOLUME! So. . . any thoughts on my business model? You might want to try an Amway type model. If you could find 2 other people to set up a sister website and send visitor's $20 each...then they could find 2 other people who can set up sister websites and to the same....and so on.

The really bad advice thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) Good idea, I was thinking of doing it in the morning. I was gonna drink the whole thing at once before leaving the house, and then get in my car and drive to work as fast as I could so I could avoid getting a DUI (I would have a buffer of about 20-30 minutes before the alcohol starts to take effect). I recommend going at least 110 mph. Apparently anything below 110 could get picked up by a radar gun.

The really bad advice thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Sometimes at work I tell people funny stories about things I do when I'm hammered, and my co-workers seem to like them. I'm thinking of waking up early on Friday to drink a pint of rum so I can demonstrate first-hand accounts of some of these stories. Is this a good idea? I think the only way to pull this off effectively is to make sure you schedule a meeting with senior management and your co-workers later in the morning. Make sure you begin drinking at least 2 hours before the meeting.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) With the Sox, absolutely nothing I'm beginning to wonder why this thread is in Pale Hose Talk since there is absolutely no Sox-related "chit-chat".

Rod Blagojevich officially facing federal corruption charges
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) There already is, instead of hitting reply, click quote on the ones you want to quote (they turn red) and then go to "add reply." Boy do i feel stupid. I was manually cutting and pasting stuff together.

Rod Blagojevich officially facing federal corruption charges
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 10:58 AM) I watched some segments on CNN, MSNBC and FOX and everytime they read the long list of offenses the entire panel would start laughing because it's so out of control and blatant. Then of course they would be like "ok, we shouldn't be laughing this is really bad in reality". This guy is unbelievably corrupt. Super douche.

Rod Blagojevich officially facing federal corruption charges
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) Maybe I'm just too used to the current administration, but I really don't like how this smells, where Axelrod was a few weeks back saying the PresE and Blago had spoken regarding the Senate seat and now is saying he "Misspoke". LINK

Rod Blagojevich officially facing federal corruption charges
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 07:08 PM) It's a shame he was Serbian...but he spells his name with an "h" at the end so forget him.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) This deal is dead. I don't think the Sox have anything going on. Yeah. What he said.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) I'm guessing you're not a fan of the Electric Circus album? I like that album but this new one is pretty awful. Perhaps a few more listens will be needed but I struggled from hitting 'next' midway through each song.

Rod Blagojevich officially facing federal corruption charges
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) It seems that when the FBI called this morning to tell Blagojevic that he was going to be arrested, his response was "Is this a joke?" The joke was that we re-elected that clown.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) I have it. Common said this was meant to be an album played and listened to when having a good time. So I knew off the bat I wouldn't get the Common I was exactly used to. I'm still planning to pick it up but with low expectations.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) Not a horrible album, but it's not what people are used to out of Common. Hence, this is gonna get horrible reviews. Yet, if Kanye does something out of the ordinary...people praise it. Funny how that works.... From what I've read it's a big step back lyrically.

Corey Patterson revisited
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 01:30 PM) More steals, fewer walks, several years older (and less chance of developing further), I'd say less power. Maybe I need to look up his stats but "BA" and "walk" don't go together from what I recall.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
QUOTE (1399 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 02:45 AM) Class is over rated but I would agree that Im despicable and so was the production of the 4-7 batters in the order which is the point here. I watched every game and saw Dye as well as the rest of the middle of the order leave runner after runner stranded on base. The .210 average was with two and thats my mistake for not pointing that out. At least you understood what I was getting at. The .269 with less than two out isnt much better and below league average. With guys like OC and Carlos getting on base Dye should have easily led the team in RBI and didnt despite Carlos missing almost the entire month of Septemeber. Call it what you want and make any excuse you want but I call call it flat out pathetic. One more thing. It's not what you hit but when you hit it. Dye didnt hit much when the Sox really needed him to and thats the point. If this rumor is true he will NOT be missed. Fantastic analysis. You should start a blog.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Then yeah, you will most definitely see the difference in quality, it'll be substantial. You won't get max quality out of it without it being on HDMI and in 1080p, but really unless your TV is like 52 inches and you're a really big geek, it probably won't matter to you. Thanks. That helped me decide on picking up the Dark Night Blu-Ray. And yes a I am hooked up via HDMI.
