QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) The difference between what? Blu-Ray and SD-DVD? No, you'll notice the difference. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD you probably won't notice at all, and you definitely wouldn't notice on a 1080i TV, which is why I thought the format wars were absurd with the way the fanboys handled themselves (especially the Blu-Ray ones). Yeah I meant Blu-Ray vs SD-DVD.

PS3 question: Do I need a 1080p television to be able to see the difference in blu ray movies? My TV is 1080i.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 6, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) I think I'm the only person my age who basically doesn't like any new stuff. I like something around 1 in 100 of the new songs I hear. I didn't realize you were 48 years old.

First techno show I've been to in ages, Saw Mistress Barbara at Smart Bar. Pretty good set. Technically flawless but track selection was about a 7 out of 10. Was impressed that she actually spun 100% vinyl.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 5, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Speaking of music games, I really hope this Rock Band, Guitar hero craze ends soon. Those games are so stupid. Fun for about a day maybe. Guess you won't be buying this.

$700 Billion Bailout
And I wouldn't be so sure that the Big 3 would be able to continue to operate while bankrupt.

$700 Billion Bailout
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2008 -> 12:00 PM) I'm sure some people fear that. I'm also sure that the moment a Big 3 company goes bankrupt (assuming they intend to continue operating), they will immediately announce that all warranties are still honored. You may believe that but I'd assume someone in the market for a new vehicle right might not be so optimistic about something like that.

$700 Billion Bailout
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) There is a near-zero chance that an auto company will stop honoring warranties for existing owners. That would be suicide. If they plan to keep operating, you can bet they'd honor warranties. I think that's why people are hesitating to buy from the Big 3. They're scared their warranty will be useless if the company goes out of business 2 months after they purchase the car.

Sometimes its watches, sometimes tvs, sometimes laptop items, sometimes little tools. Its never the same thing Just bought the db Clay wallets for a couple of co-workers...and myself.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) The last half hour or so was a complete joke, talk about dragging I thought it would never end. The actor who played Augie (McLovin) was just awful, not funny at all. Agree that he was not funny. The other kid wasn't all that funny either. Having a little kid drop f-bombs might automatically make some people laugh but I need a little better writing to do it for me. I thought Rudd's character was pretty funny though. Seann William Scott played the exact same guy he has played in everything he's been in.

Fall of '08 television season thread
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) Best TV show I've ever seen. I've probably watched each episode at least 5 times and I still laugh uncontrollably each time I see them, it has incredible replay value. Sometimes I find myself jonesing for a specific episode, usually "Pier Pressure." The Hot Cops are about as good as it gets. They used to show reruns on HDNet a while back. If I happened to stumble upon an episode I'd yell out to my wife and she'd drop whatever she was doing to watch it with me.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) Why? Why? Why exactly? Be more constructive with your feedback please. It's rare for me to find a movie or TV show that makes me consistently laugh and this is one of them. There's lots of dead pan humor, quirky characters, and hilarious scenarios. The band manager, Murray, has a David Brent-like quality to him which I find endearing.
