Meanwhile, there's a reason the Marlins have no fans. They go out and sign Jose Reyes off one ridiculous half-season before he tore his hamstring, and now they're stuck with a more expensive, lesser shortstop.

Not that it matters - you never say never on anyone. Sure, love Chris Sale, but if the Nats offer Stras? There's never anyone you WON'T trade.

The poll needs to let me select multiple guys.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) Looks like a straight salary dump It's too bad we didn't rock a Ramirez/Ramirez swap.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:20 AM) I still don't want Buehrle with that money owed him in the last two years. Love the guy, but no. We've been saying it for years. This dude will pitch the same today as he will when he's 38-40. He doesn't survive on gas.

Jeez, they got nothing for Hanley.

Quintana for Buehrle. Do it.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) Proving someone wrong using new facts isn't an attack. /report. Interestingly enough, I never even knew the "Report" button existed. Heh. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) Yeah, and he included my name at the end. Only reason to do that is to try and mock me and bait me in to a fight. It's alright, I reported both of his posts. Hopefully the mods here take care of it and he can finally move on. Oh, now I get the "reported" part. He could have done a lot worse! Anyway, yeah, it'd be a lot easier to move along if the Blackhawks, you know, DID SOMETHING! -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) He's just trying to stir up an argument and bait me. I ignore him, he should learn to ignore me. Reported. Hey wasn't stirring anything up. That was valid news about a star player on the Blackhawks that was extremely relevant to a topic hotly discussed here. Just because it proves people right that aren't you, that doesn't mean he's doing anything wrong. Kane isn't reaching his potential, and he's a drunken boob half the time. That's that. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) For some reason Derrick's injury has people re-imagining the bulls as much worse than they were. It's hard to know what the Bulls were. They had the best record in the NBA despite playing 90% of their games without at least one starter. It's all changed now, though, because by far and away their best player might have completely altered his career moving forward.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) What good is Noah going to do us in 2012-2013? There's rumors he might not even be walking right yet.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) Because IMO there's still hope this year when Rose comes back. You are silly, but certainly not a malcontent.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) This team is not an elite team, Im sorry. They just are not. Derrick is was an elite player that elevatesd the talent around him, but he needs help, two legs, and the FO has to understand that.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) Also, Bulls are going to be wearing the 90's alternate (black pinstripes!) I had a Rodman in those. It disintegrated sometime in the early 2000's. The black with red pinstripes blows the shiny black away anyday.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) Bottom line: everything I hear is 2014 2014, be patient wait 2 years, Rose coming back, etc. 3 of our 4 primary offseason acquisitions (Nazr Mohammed, Vlad Radmanovic, & Kirk Hinrich) merely fit with this plan because they will all assuredly be gone by then. That doesn't strike me as a POSITIVE offseason, which is all I asserted from the beginning. Doesn't seem ridiculous to question the direction that was executed this offseason. Doesn't mean the entire next 5 years are wasted, not everything could have been solved this summer regardless. But none of these acquisitions are even relevant to the long-term plan. My big issue is - The Bulls are playing for 2014. So Why are we not gutting this team for this coming year and creating future cap space and the possibility of an elite player from coming drafts?

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 11:07 AM) Because 2000 was pre- GarPax era, and in 2010 we got played by Lebron and Wade just like New York did. It's not random at all, there's nothing random about picking Rose over Beasley, that was a sound business decision. There's nothing random about striking gold by picking Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and developing these players into contributors for an elite team in the NBA that won the #1 seed two times in a row. Like it or not, but winning the #1 seed more than once shows that we ARE a legit contender for a title. Bad teams don't play consistently well enough to win #1 seeds. Wow. We struck gold by drafting Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, and Taj Gibson. That's awesome. Good to know. They are legit stars and that's why we're celebrating our championships! As for Rose, yes, they made the right pick, but they won the draft lottery with a 1.7% chance. That's the very definition of random luck.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) What would the Sox be able to offer? Would the Sox look at moving Viciedo, Floyd, and Quintana? Would that be enough? Too much? Johnson's not worth that. One-hitter be damned, the dude's got an era over 4, a whip over 1.30, and is having the worst month of his season even with that performance.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 04:10 PM) EVERY SINGLE MOVE the Bulls have made this offseason since Jordan retired have little significance in the big picture. Fixed they for you. They randomly got lucky and won the lottery and got a star. Beyond that, they've shown zero initiative nor ability to field a true contender. Teams like the Celtics and Lakers force deals and spend the luxury tax to build Championship quality teams. The Bulls used to be mentioned in the same breath as the great franchises in the NBA, but the 6 trophies are getting further and further away, and now our great hope in Derrick Rose may never be the same again. Don't worry, though, we're a lock for a 7 seed and nowhere near the lottery. We're money!

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:03 AM) I saw BB, I also saw Dark Knight. And Im pretty certain in Dark Knight you can see the EL in some scenes, so even if it was destroyed in BB, it was back by Dark Knight. It's f***ing Chicago. That train is quite different from the one in BB - they aren't even remotely similar. One is a normal elevated train you see in many cities (TDK), the other is a giant one that is about 300 feet in the air. You are reaching, my friend.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 05:56 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/3-arrested-separate-...-080930278.html 3 separate Batman-related incidents around the US...scary stuff, especially the Maine guy A Maine man was arrested when he told authorities that he was on his way to shoot a former employer a day after watching "The Dark Knight Rises," Maine state police said Monday. How the f*** is that a "Dark Knight Rises" incident. F*cking internet "news" trolling for hits by tying something together that has no correlation. In Southern California, a man at a Sunday afternoon showing of the film was arrested after witnesses said he made threats and alluded to the Aurora shooting when the movie didn't start. And that's just an idiot making an ill-timed joke, because he forgot the "time" part of the "Tragedy + Time = Comedy" formula.
