QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 29, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) From ESPNChicago's White Sox report: ESPN just blazing trails today. Konerko won't hit .399 this year. Way to go, guys! You just blew my mind with that analysis.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 29, 2012 -> 03:37 PM) Bernstein says the organization has reached out to his parents to help get him under control, and his dad is an ass and loves his drink just as much as Kane and has no desire to slow Kane down. He's just a college kid! It's no problem! DRINK DRINK DRINK

That article blows. Brett Lawrie OPS - .677 Gordon Beckham OPS - .644 Brett Lawrie May OPS - .649 Gordon Beckham May OPS - .763 Brett Lawrie's flash in the pan rookie season - 43 games Gordon Beckham's rookie season - 103 games It's as if these morons don't even watch baseball games. They just remember Lawrie was a big-time fantasy sleeper being overdrafted in leagues, and pay no attention to what's actually happening on the field. I mean, COME THE F*CK ON, PEOPLE. Beckham is a great glove at 2b, and much younger, and playing quite well. He has a .644 OPS this year with that plus defense, while Hudson has a .593 OPS. Go away, everyone at ESPN.

Fan voting needs to go. F*cking Japanese will have Ichiro's terrible ass starting, you can count on that. Stupid New York global love always has old/bad players. I bet Texeira gets more votes than Paulie. Albert will clearly get more votes despite sucking balls, same as Prince.

Greg Walker sucked.

CMA Fest is only 9 days away!

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) Oooohh--wwweeee--oooohhh Maaaaaaaaagliooooooo. My favorite player growing up. I wish he retired w/ the Sox. Yeah, I was obsessed with Magglio. He was a real monster from 1999-2003. Injuries suck.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 29, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) I'd take Hawk, but they need to partner him with someone different. Agreed.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) They have that many tickets "sold" but there are 3k on stubhub and thousands on the streets. Brokers picked up every ticket in the offseason and now there is no where to unload them. Stubhub today has tickets priced from $2 Edit: Down to a penny a ticket Hmmm, One penny for a Jeff SAMARJ bobble head. Too bad I have to work, that'd be an easy $50 on ebay.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) They skipped ALOT in GOT, I cant believe they didnt show the chain across the river, and also I expected the wound to Tyrion to look alot worse, at least it did in my head. I would imagine when you have an actor of Peter Dinklage's caliber, one would try to not have to have his face mangled and his nose missing for the rest of the series.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) Guillen is (g)od. 2005 Guillen is (g)od. 2005 Guillen is (g)od. 2005 Guillen is (g)od. 2005 Guillen is (g)od. 2005 Does that cover it? Epic post.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) And then throw in Beckham (and if he's ever healthy enough, hopefully someday Morel) and the Sox will be getting solid, cost-controlled contributions from their 2008 draft as well. I'll avoid mentioning what happened to the 5th round pick that year. Hey, I know things are great around here right now, but Morel sucks now and he will always suck. He has very little offensive talent.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) For those like myself that have chastised this organization without remorse the last 2-3 years for the complete inability to produce young, cost-controlled, impact talent the last decade or so - NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! It's about f***ing time. In Sale, Viciedo and Reed - we're looking at a potential #1 starter with Xbox on speed type stuff, a run-producing offensive beast god who deposits missiles all over the damn place and a Craig Kimbrel like android in which you know once he enters the game that it's time for hitters to bend over and take it like a porn star. These three are cheap and belong to us for the next X amount of years. That's how you build a juggernaut and go on a sustained run. This is the new-age way of running a successful baseball operation. I am for now very please. This post is amazing. I, too, am please and haven't seen anything like this in awhile with the Sox. Always watching other teams bring up legit stars. Now, all the sudden, we're doing it.

QUOTE (ptatc @ May 29, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) That is a great picture. That fact that his elbow is straight gives some hope for long term success. The problem comes up when the elbow has a little flexion or bend in it. When the elbow is bent it relies on muscles and ligaments to hold it together. However, when it's fully extended like that the bones are locked together and can add some stability to the joint. I don't know if he throws all of them like that but if he does that is a more encouraging sign then I previously thought. Man, I love your posts.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ May 29, 2012 -> 10:25 AM) The do whatever it takes to get rid of Dunn ideas that began floating around late June-early July were premature and frightening to say the least. Frightening? Take it easy champ, stop typing for awhile!

The Sale stuff is fun, and I will enjoy it while it lasts. I certainly hope it lasts. That pic I put together for you f***ers, I mean, that arm just shouldn't be able to sustain this. Let's all hope it does!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Sox lineup: De Aza cf, Beckham 2b, Dunn dh, Konerko 1b, Rios rf, AJ c, Viciedo lf, Ramirez ss, Hudson 3b, Humber p Strong-ass lineup there.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2012 -> 09:51 AM) Maybe a revolving booth is the way to go. He sounded re-energized when Stone first joined the booth too. Or - a 3 man booth with him as color man instead of pbp. Hawk does the one rest inning per game. That'd make sense and keep the entertaining Hawk (ie - Hawk when the Sox are on a 6 game winning streak) in the booth.

The Chicago White Sox (+31) have the 2nd best run differential in the AL. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings

QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Props to the broadcast today. Awesome stuff with the highlights of Cooper and Wimpy Hawk actually seemed revitalized with Wimpy. I was loving that yesterday.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 29, 2012 -> 09:39 AM) I wasn't sure about the first comment. The first comment didn't seem sarcastic.

Just started reading "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi and am already hooked. Awesome - kinda reminds me of Ender's Game.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 28, 2012 -> 12:26 AM) An absolutely stellar episode of Mad Men. This has been the best season of Mad Men, and that might have been the best episode. This show, I wish it could live forever.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 28, 2012 -> 12:25 AM) I don't understand how you can consider yourself a fan of the league/sport and then just not care about the most important 4-7 games of the entire season. Doesn't follow. I'm a hockey fan, but I'd rather watch the hot White Sox right now than the Stanley Cup Finals. Call me crazy for not caring if the Kings or Devils win the Cup.
