QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) The first 3/4 of S5 of Dexter is pretty "meh", but then it picks up a lot in the last few episodes. I find overall S5 had quite a few moments of lazy writing though. The asphyxiation episode was a joke.

I peter'd out on Oz somewhere in season 4 here, I need a break. It is time for "The Wire". It'd better be as good as the entire world says!
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) Amy Winehouse. Can't say I'm shocked. Should have gone to rehab. She said "No, no".
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) I didn't see it said on here but an arbitrator gave Campolli $2.5 million, the Hawks said no thanks, and now he is a FA> Yeah, it was posted a few days ago.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 01:21 PM) I can't believe no one posted the video of Ozzie getting hit in the eye by a foul ball http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id...ent_id=17117675 That'll teach him to not pay attention.
  6. QUOTE (supernuke @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) New Jets logo released. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/story/2011...-jets-logo.html That is too beautiful. They'll be a fun team online in NHL 12.

Holy cow that Dexter preview makes me want to rub my genitals! My take... it seems Mos Def is kind of an alternate Dexter, he's clearly dressed in a black cloak carrying a scythe (dishing out punishment to those whose time has come?)... that would be quite amazing.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) Maybe it's just me, but I see all these doom and gloom threads and dramatic titles, and I don't even have the energy to read it anymore. Am I alone here? Of all the topics on the front page, I think only 3 or 4 of them have I even ever opened once. I pondered whether to open this thread, because I would have avoided it as it serves no purpose. However, I failed because I wanted to be snarky. Team sucks, not much positive to go around right now. There's always other forums.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) you can facebook friend him for free unlimited views Has anyone pointed out that BS is a Godless hippy in the past 3 hours? If not, I'd like to throw it out there again. Oh, and of course he's been facebook friended. Keeps the sauce flowin.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) We have a mod monitoring that thread at all times with a backup admin on call when it comes to mass BS photo deletion. The graveyard shift is assigned to newbs I would like that job. Those pics = fap time.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Anonymity. You mean awesomeness.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) It wouldnt take much to outperform Alex Rios regardless of what numbers are inflated. I'm pretty sure anyone we brought up could at least give us something other than 2 ground outs and a pop up. Preach.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) Just like asking a Defensive Coordinator what is wrong with the offense right? Totally makes sense. And his answer is very simple, "I don't deal with the offense, but feel free to talk to _________". There's no need to flip your lid and hang up.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) No a stupid move would have been answering the question and having 10+ pages on "Coop thinks Viciedo should be called up". All this movie did was create some "drama" over nothing. You're right, there were multiple stupid moves to be made, and he chose one of them. However, his move was stupid as well. It's not too hard to say "oh that's not a decision that's up to me, I don't evaluate the hitters, Kenny's in charge of those types of decisions, etc etc" and it's over. I don't get why you persist to point out that Coop could have made a worse move... we all know this, but that doesn't make the move he did go with any less dumb.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:57 AM) f***ing Cassi is going to go home. Sucks. At least we still have Porche. And WTF was with Rachel crying in a f***ing bush. Brendan is the biggest p**** every on BB. Yeah, there's no way Cassi survives, but I'd rather see Dominic around anyway, I think he'll be a player. I really wish Jordan had balled up and put Brendan & Rachel on the block. It would have been dumb, but it also would have made for good television. Plus, I'm not so sure that they couldn't have still had numbers after a move like that, they'd have had Cassi & Shelly in their back pocket, definitely would still have had Danielle, and Dominic & Adam could have been talked into that group as well. And yeah, Jeff just f***ing owns. I love that he put Rachel in her f***ing place.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) yeah, it isn't essential for her character to be hot or anything. As long as they have ended any sexy office banging she was getting into in season 3.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) Not sure how this is shocking. It's not shocking, but it certainly was a stupid move by Coop.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) LOL. That's the first thought that came to my mind when you originally posted that but I was worried that the mods would get angry, you know with the whole anti-hyperbole and negativity vibe they've been giving off. Great, you are going to get me in trouble, now.
  19. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) i was thinking a word that rhymes with swat That would have also been acceptable.
  20. The title of this thread makes me sadder with each loss.
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Timing is everything, though. After a disappointing series with the Royals after a disappointing first half, with a lot of rumors circulating about the future of the management, it all seems a little bigger. Let me just say that I am thankful for something to talk about, good or bad, with this team. Yeah, absolutely zero good (aside from Soxtalk discussion) comes from flipping out on live air with thousands of fans listening, and then hanging up, over a question about your team that was asked that you are being paid to listen to and then answer. Absolutely nothing about the question was out of line; the offense sucks, and he had to expect a question about Viciedo. He's paid to answer questions about the White Sox, not just the pitching staff (which as Kyle has already pointed out he also gets grumpy answering). If Coop simply says "aw shucks, that's Kenny's call, I'm just here to make sure our pitchers are ready", no one cares nor talks about the situation.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I agree with this. My stance is that he ALWAYS acts like this, and even moreso when you ask him questions about the pitching staff. Buried in that article is a quote about how he reacted when he was asked about Humber, it wasnt much better although he stayed on the phone. Like i said, if you dont like people asking you a question about your job, then dont agree to the contract that pays you to call in and comment on your job. He treats the media like s***. He used to really bully Rongey too Coop bein' Coop!
  23. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) And changing his offseason routine can help with that. What an ignorant point.
