  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) My argument was the Sox wasted 4 mil on Manny Ramirez last year for a month. Completely threw it away on that piece of s***. If they can't eat a couple mil due to Pierre the rest of the year, and trade it out for Viciedo, who is making good coin in AAA.... I just don't get it from the "return on investment" front. Teams dump salary all the time because the player sucks. This wouldn't be any different. It's all about the fact that Ozzie Guillen faps to pictures of Juan Pierre 24/7. He has a love for the man that is unmatched by anyone.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:25 AM) Because this team has to be one of the worst with regards to in-game managing. I'm confident Watson the computer would make better decisions. Steve the Marketing Professional could right this ship.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) lol, two pages and still nobody has offered their opinion? Teahen or Pierre in LF? I would MUCH rather have Teahen's poor defense and left handed pop in the lineup than Pierre's poor defense and NOTHING in the lineup I know Teahen's power is subjective, but put simply, he can hit homers and extra base hits, Pierre can't. Pierre can't even turn singles into doubles with SB, which makes him USELESS How about f*** both Teahen and Pierre.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) Link It frustrates me that other teams can fire their hitting coaches, but the Sox can have the same problems year after year and stick with Walker.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) I thought that was 2001 or 2007 or 2009. 2003 was quite the fail. Carl Everett was such a monster for Texas that 1st half, we got him right before the All-Star Game and he played in front of the Comiskey faithful. That was one hell of a f***ing team that finished 2nd place.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 06:00 AM) I have no problem admitting that I cried watching 500 Days of Summer simply because it's eerily similar to my situation. As far as I'm concerned, that's one of the best movies I've ever watched. The only thing I don't understand is Everything about the movie was genuinely awesome. It moves quickly, so it doesn't exactly mimic real life, and her I do understand the length restrictions of a movie, and it was absolutely phenomenal otherwise and obviously hit me on a very personal level because I've gone a very similar experience. I think it hit a little too close to home and made me realize that I'm still chasing my Summer Finn. I think that's the sign of a good movie. I think might think too much too. (didn't dare bother to read the whole thread, didn't care how outdated the post was, but didn't want to ruin it) I think everyone can relate to the "Expectation vs Reality" sequence. The wife and I adored that film when we saw it, what, 2 years ago? It's great.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:11 AM) Besides didn't Richards turn down the chance to come to the Hawks a couple of years ago in order to go to Dallas? That was a greatly different Hawks team. You never know when one of these vets is going to jump on for a cheap 1 year deal to chase a Cup. This Hawks team as assembled fits that billing extraordinarily well. They are one of a handful of teams you have to look at as a Cup chase.
  8. I heard about this trade a couple days ago. If Hahn wants to commit both team and career suicide, then he can go ahead and make this deal. I don't think even he is crazy enough to do it.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) LOL at this s***ty team. White Sox are a joke. And Steve, Rios does suck as does Juan. I know. I was being you.
  10. Hmmm, football no guarantee, so I guess ill look forward to hockey preseason in September.
  11. Alex Rios didn't even move his feet on that f***ing swing. He has cashed it the f*** in.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) Adam Dunn is so bad it is beyond belief. I think he's the worst player I've ever seen, truthfully. Why dont you bring up Pierre or Rios?!?!?!?
  13. I really dislike this season. Underachievers are the worst. The only guys worth watching are Paulie and Mark.
  14. http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011...ter-double-fake Wow. Just wow.

  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) His numbers don't matter to me. I want him to play up to his potential. Specific much? This is just silly. This very well could be the man's potential, and his potential is elite.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) Really? Are you telling me that you don't think LeBron should be better than he has shown? Not really, he's been a multiple NBA MVP and quite amazing. What do you want? 35/10/10?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) As long as he is playing significantly under his potential, he is underachieving, by definition. Who defines his potential?
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) So I take it you have reviewed all 700 of his games to know that it wasn't? I've seen enough, and I'm not the one being over-reactionary to one series. The man has been NBA MVP multiple times and has the stellar stats to back it up. You cannot call LeBron James an underachiever.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) I hate to break this to you, but stats aren't the reality. The games played are the reality. I don't see how anyone could argue that LeBron is anywhere near what he should be on the floor. (And I haven't seen anyone here do that yet) I hope the game tape you reviewed of all 700+ regular season and playoff games he's participated in was entertaining. You're pulling s*** out of your ass because of an overblown NBA Finals.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) To me there is a big difference between stats and achievement. Obvious numberswise you can't say LeBron underachieved. But all you have to do is watch the guy to know he leaves a lot on the floor. To me that is the ultimate in underachieving, stats be damned. Yes, reality be damned. Great point.
  22. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) I agree, he is not an all-time underachiever at this point. However, by definition of the word underachieve, he has done that. He's averaged 27.7 points, 7.1 boards, and 7.0 assists over 627 games. Cut the guy a break... that's some amazing s*** right there.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) None of those guys had anywhere near the abilities and talents of LeBron. Unfortunately LeBron has none of those guys's work ethics either. Christ, how many league MVP's does LeBron need to win? I know it's fashionable to pile on LeBron and hilarious how bad he was in the 4th quarters of these NBA Finals, but he's nowhere near any all-time underachiever list.
