I feel like extending Konerko would be a HUGE mistake, but we can worry that after Dunn is signed.

I'll take Adam Dunn.

I really can't get over that SOA finale. It's so strange to have a season end on a completely good note (save of course the club having a year + prison sentence, of course)... It should be interesting to see the Sons with tons of gun cash rolling in + Mayor Hale cracking down with his state cops.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) My name is Jordan4life aka Mikell, and Blake Griffin is f***ing sick. You know you're good when you make me tune in to Clippers highlights. No s***. I watched a Spurs/Clippers game and stayed up late for it last night. SPURS CLIPPERS. THINK ABOUT THAT.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) There will be a L'il Sqwert roaming these parts very soon. Be afraid. Be very afraid. A L'il Sqwert created this L'il Sqwert. We terrified. Congrats, yo.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) Played the new NFS Hot Pursuit yesterday. I was really surprised at how well it played. It's been a long time since I actually enjoyed a Need for Speed game. The drifting and the boost system were awesome. Criterion made it like half Burnout, half NFS. I need to pick that up. I was absolutely obsessed with the one on PC (and Playstation) previously. If they kept the gameplay relatively intact, it's going to rock. That's the best racing game I've ever played (NFS Hot Pursuit of the late 90s).

BOOM! Does this make up for the "LeBron won't go to Miami" guarantee?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) I tried to look back to the point where we had out last "Will the Lakers hit 72?" discussion, but couldn't find it. Man, we get a lot of posts in this thread. That we do. I don't think anyone said the Heat or the Lakers would get there, but people discounted the Lakers once the Heat lost like 3 games. I feel farely certain that no one is ever going to best that record.

SOA redeemed the f*** out of that season. Bring on 4.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) I'm sure it'll change some day but I prefer the unlimited data plan at sprint. Who wants to keep monitoring their data usage? I'm hoping it doesn't change. Sprint is gathering customers left and right based on their unlimited plans. They'd just as quickly lose these customers if they changed policies.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) We've had one for about 4 years now, works just fine so far. Anyways, Cats + Christmas Trees = Most annoying thing in the world. Preach. One of my cats is totally cool about it and will sit under the tree and have a fine time. The other one isn't happy unless ornaments are on the floor and he's nustled somewhere in the upper 2/3.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) So, we have a pre-lite tree that goes together in three parts.... the top third wont light up... D'OH!! Ugh, ours worked for five years and started going out this year. I spent 4 hours on Saturday night cutting the lights off. Now it's just an artificial tree and I'll manually do lights from here on out. It beats dropping another hundo on a tree. It looks completely normal once you get rid of the old stuff.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 11:30 AM) Only on ST do people look at an 8-3 Bears team (especially with those expectations coming into the season) and think ridiculous things like "If we had Philip Rivers we'd be 10-1." What is even the point in that? Calm down. Enjoy winning. Stop b****ing.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 02:49 AM) What about the Seattle game? I feel like this team could definitely be 10-1 right now. What about the Detroit game? It goes both ways.

Alexei opts out of 1.5 mil- Sox have a week to accept 2.5 op
Steve9347 replied to Frank_Thomas's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) Sounds like they want to try to get an extension done before they accept the option. There is zero chance at going to arbit Given Uribe is making 7 mill per over 3, I don't see how they work out an extension right now. Take the 2.5. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Arguably a top-5 offensive and defensive SS in baseball who is still young. Probably worth on the open market $10 million a year. Look at what Uribe got. Alexei is way better. People say this often, but he did turn 29 in September (it's easy to forget that he was 26 when we signed him). He's still worth multiple years, of course. Assuming we sign him to the 2.5 (which we will), then you'd be looking at an extension that ends when he's 34-35. (much like the Uribe contract) -

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) What would be a good contract extension for him? He's worth at least $2.5 million a year. 3/$10 million? A multi-year contract extension for Alexei Ramirez would cost well more than that. Accept the 2.5 for this year and get him extended prior to the end of 2011. That's a no-brainer. He's one of KW's greatest moves of many. -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) I want to know what teams are interested in Dunn, because I don't see many offering him that contract. I think he's going to end up settling for a lot less just like last time. The fact that Pujols, Fielder, and Gonzalez are all free agents next year won't help his cause. I don't think $15 per is out of the realm of expectation...
