QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 27, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) If youre the best team, youre the best in all field conditions. Furthermore, all the Super Bowl ever proves is who was the "best team" that day, with those conditions. Until Peyton Manning tears his ACL on the first play from scrimmage due to slipping in the snow. All you are doing is increasing the chances of random luck effecting the Super Bowl vs superior players.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2010 -> 06:38 PM) Why shouldn't the super bowl be played in all kinds of weather? Because it takes away from the performance of the game. It's not optimal conditions. If you play the game on a sheet of ice or 4 inches of snow, it decreases the chance that the better team wins. It becomes a crapshoot. It is a great neutralizer, which is not what I'm looking for in the most important game of the year. I could not agree with you more.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 27, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) If the Hawks did not choke the game away in Philly, the Flyers may not have even made the playoffs. I found that point interesting. ...and we would have (if everything stays the same) been the 1 seed. -
I don't often get into this, but there is nothing worse than a Cubs fan friend on facebook who happens to be attending a game. I have a lot of them, so I have diagnosed the exact process by which all fans are required to follow in order to attend a game and also be on facebook. It is as follows. 1. OMG GOING TO CUBS GAME TOMORROW 2. GOING TO CUBS TODAY WOOHOO 3. picture of beer in hand before game starts 4. picture of random at bat in the early innings 5. picture of random at bat in the middle innings 6. picture of random at bat in the late innings 7a. [if cubs win... rarely] CUBS GAME WAS GREAT GO CUBS 7b. [if cubs lose...often] - silence

The Wade comments are very interesting. He's already talked to LeBron, so this is probably good news for us and might indicate that LeBron is leaning towards Chicago. First, Wade probably tipped his hand that he has no interest in leaving Miami, what with touting them over the Bulls when you'd normally keep all options open, and second, he must have some sort of feeling that LeBron is leaning Chicago to make this garbage up. If LeBron does his due-diligence, and if he actually realizes who John Paxson is, then this won't have any effect.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) At the end of the day, I think one thing is obvious. We will see spinoffs. That is the one perfect explanation for all of the unanswered questions. I highly doubt that. Although, I must have told my wife 18 times that I'd watch the s*** out of a Miles/Sawyer cop show based on their characters in Purgatory.

I was so happy to kill that f***er. He killed my horse, and then attacked me. He got what he deserved. In other RDR news, I am not too far into the game, because I can only play in hour spurts a few nights a week, and half of that is spent roaming and f***ing around, but last night I was elated to earn the duster. I feel so much like Mac.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2010 -> 09:10 AM) The forwards of Philly are much different than the forwards of Nashville. Nashville pretty much trapped the entire game and hoped the Hawks would make a mistake. There weren't aggressive. Philly dumps and chases hard, their fowards are much more skilled, quick, and physical. Again, Montreal played like Nashville in that series, not Philly. Get real. It's true, Philadelphia has more talent up front, so when they cause these turnovers, and forecheck, it works out for them more often. They are a talented team. I think anyone who watches games knows Montreal was very lucky to be where they were, and Nashville was a 7 seed for a reason. They play hard and sometimes it works. The Flyers, also a 7 seed, were riddled with injury throughout the season, snuck in, got lucky, and now are full strength and a legit Stanley Cup representative of the East. In that series the Canadiens played like the Predators because the Flyers were easily the more talented team. You will see the Flyers play like the Predators in the Cup Final because the Blackhawks are easily the more talented team. Just because the Flyers are more talented than the Canadiens, that does not dispute that they play a similar style to the Predators when they are forced to, which you disputed (and knowing your posting style, regardless of being proven wrong will dispute to the grave). So, with that, I'll make this my last post on the topic. Of the teams we have played, the Flyers can most easily be compared to the Predators. Get real. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2010 -> 07:13 AM) If you watched Flyers games, you would see that they forecheck really hard and their offense is based on getting turnovers in the offensive zone. Montreal was more like Nashville in that series. Get real. Of the teams we have played on a regular basis, the Predators are the closest equivalent. I don't see why that's so hard to understand. The Flyers' neutral zone trap starts a bit higher, and they do forecheck hard and cause turnovers to generate their offense. If you watched Predators games, you would see that this is their style as well... as about 90% of their scores come off of turnovers generated by forechecking and the neutral zone trap. Get real. -

You should post that here or don't post the link. The last thing this site needs is links to people's blogs.

QUOTE (3E8 @ May 25, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) I disagree with all of you. The episode was brilliant. It was the first time in awhile I re-watched the episode again the next day. The dynamic between Walt and Jesse is so great, that I've been dying for scenes with them cooking together again. Both are great actors. Dialogue ranged from humorous and light (Jesse had more funny lines in this ep than ever) to very dark (Walt deciding when the best time for him to die would've been.) The directing and editing was especially good. There was pretty heavy symbolism, this was not simply about Walt trying to catch a fly Agreed completely. That episode will win an Emmy. It was fantastic.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) You didn't make an answer; you did what the writers did: shifted a mystery from one place to another. Why are the Others doing what they are doing? -Because Jacob tells them to. Why does Jacob tell them to do these things? ... How did Jacob become some kind of demi-god? -Some woman gave him powers. So how did she have powers? What was she? ... Why can't Smokey leave the island? -It's a Rule. What are the Rules? ... You can play that with anything. Why does frog DNA help create dinosaurs? - dunno, didn't bother me in Jurassic Park Why does Jack give a s*** about the credibility of a country that turns its back on him all the time? - I dunno, guess it's his character Why was the Gene Simmons character playing drums on Glee last night? f*** if i know. Just move on, who cares. The show is over, and was pretty poor the last season until the final few episodes, and the purgatory was BS. There you go.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 26, 2010 -> 10:58 AM) I enjoyed the four season of set-up i got. I just wanted two seasons of answers instead of time-travel and purgatory. Post of the year.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 25, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Thinking about finally getting a new PS3. Only question, what game do I pick up as my starter game? I've been yearning to play the Show ever since last summer when my PS3 broke, while eating my copy of the Show 09 with it. However, Red Dead Redemption looks fantastic. Tough decision... Red Dead.
