  1. Haha, he called his teammates the Bad News Bears. His 1.50 or so WHIP over the last season and a half suggests he belongs there with them.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) God Verlander is a stud. Steve, I can't believe you said he sucked and you wouldn't want him on your team. When did I ever say that?
  3. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) BTW steve, maybe because it is the first game of a double header? That would have a little to do with it. If I made the lineups I would definitely start Wise the next day after that catch. I have no problem with him playing, but he's hitting .196 and leading off. That was the issue.
  4. I get it. Wise made a nice catch. BUT WHY DOES HE HAVE TO LEAD OFF TODAY IN THE BATTLE FOR FIRST PLACE?
  5. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Man, my wife would have kicked my ass had I even suggested getting married at a ballpark. You've got a good woman there, dude...congrats.
  6. That Phillies' video makes you realize how monumental this feat was... only 18 in history. The whole f***ing world was watching Mark Buehrle THROW A PERFECT GAME. GO SOX! There's no better team in baseball to follow. Awesome stuff happens all the time.

    Films Thread

    Just watch the whole thing.
  8. Leave it to BearSox to start an argument in a thread about Mark Buehrle pitching a perfect game. On a side note, remember when Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game?
  9. QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 07:56 PM) my life could end now, and i would forever have a smile on my face. That's kind of a funny remark. If you are smiling right now, and your life ended... well... that's it.
  10. I guess he went to the hospital today? Anyone have any details?
  11. QUOTE (Stocking @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) The King of Sigs. That.
  12. Mark Buehrle has faced the minimum, not twice, but THREE TIMES. Perfect Game No-hitter (pickoff after a walk) Two-hitter (two double plays) I wonder if that's a record. It certainly feels like a record.
  13. Working with recently-acquired catcher Ramon Castro for the first time, Buehrle got some pre-game advice from A.J. Pierzynksi, his usual backstop. "He was like go out and throw a no-hitter. I was like for what, I've already got one of those. He was like, well then go throw a perfect game."
  14. Eric Cooper was the home plate umpire for both of Buehlre's No-Hitters.
  15. Hey guys... remember when Mark Buehrle pitched a Perfect Game?
  16. I no longer disagree with keeping him over BA.
