  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) Let's see if he can guard No. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) or shoot on John Salmons. Yes. Same old Ben, different jersey... no doubt about it.
  2. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) I will miss The Bulin Wall. Yes, after being a huge disappointment for THREE years, he waited until we were backed into the corner and signed another goaltender before looking like the Khabibulin of old. There were more bad times than good with Khabibulin, and his being gone isn't that huge a deal. Huet needs to step it up.
  3. Huet, like most goaltenders, was the s*** last year when given consistent playing time. He didn't sign here to split time and he certainly didn't sign to be a backup. I expect him to be quite good in the coming season.
  4. Marian Hossa has already donned the Blackhawks sweater... well, technically Winterhawks.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) We must not have been able to find any takers for his contract. Dammit. Not the least bit surprising.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Uh oh, Khabi to the Oilers... tentative agreement Huet or bust baby.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Buster Posey could eventually be THE premier catcher in the league. I thought he couldn't field all that well?
  8. The Boston Globe says Jaroslav Spacek has signed with the Canadiens. Three years for $11.5 million in total. That is way too much.
  9. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) If Hossa is a direct replacement for Havlat, we are doing pretty good: 30 Goal Seasons - Hossa - 7, Havlat - 1 70 Point Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 80 Game Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 You left a few out there... 90 point seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 100 point seasons - Hossa - 1, Havlat - 0 40 goal seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0
  10. Niedermeyer re-ups with the Ducks for 1 year at 6.1.
  11. Now if the Hawks could just move Huet to anyone, they could remain in the mix for Marty.
  12. The way the Hossa deal is structured is simply brilliant.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) Oh yeah, it's a hard cap in the NHL, you can't do it, that's right. The Redwings baffle me then. Ha. Supposedly they offered Hossa 8 years at 4 million per. I'd presume the Hawks will offer in the neighborhood of 5.5?
  14. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Until Toews, Kane, and Keith all have to leave next season...... They'd figure it out. There's a reason teams like Detroit never have to let any talent go... I don't know how, but it's there somewhere. Oh yeah, going over the cap, that's right.
  15. So we trade Gordon to the Pistons and in return get Marian Hossa? Seriously, though, if we land Hossa I will be very happy. If they can somehow ink Havlat as well, we've taken it to the next level. Hossa is an insane talent.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) Just wait til it happens to you, Ginger. booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  17. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) Get Firefox, and get Noscript...and get it now. I couldn't agree more.
  18. Firefox is still better than Chrome.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 AM) Because is not really something that should be talked about. booooooooooooooooooooooo
  20. A new HBO series coming this fall, "Bored to Death", is probably going to be amazing. - Zach Galifianakis, Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, Kristin Wiig Bored to Death Also looking forward to "The Pacific" a new miniseries from Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg that promises to be on the level of Band of Brothers. The Pacific As for Hung, the first episode was pretty good.
  21. The Thunder should sign Millsap and then trade expiring contracts (Watson/etc.) for Kaman. Kaman/Krstic Millsap/Collison Durant/Green Harden/Thabo Westbrook
  22. CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: reports Blackhawks forward Martin Havlat is willing to re-sign with the club to a pay cut provided he gets a long-term deal. GM Dale Tallon also negotiated with the agent for Nikolai Khabibulin, who could be moving on as the 'Hawks have Cristobal Huet under an expensive long-term deal, but the DAILYHERALD.COM'S Tim Sassone speculates Tallon's interest in Khabibulin suggests he's shopping Huet, possibly to Edmonton or Colorado as Sassone claims those two teams are at least listening to what Tallon is offering.
  23. Contreras + Slayer = Sox win 8-2
  24. Beckham is the best talent we've seen come up through our system since the Big Hurt. He very well could wind up the best of his draft class... it's certainly starting out that way. Kinda ironic, the one time the Sox take the guy I wanted them to take!
