Huet, like most goaltenders, was the s*** last year when given consistent playing time. He didn't sign here to split time and he certainly didn't sign to be a backup. I expect him to be quite good in the coming season.

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: reports Blackhawks forward Martin Havlat is willing to re-sign with the club to a pay cut provided he gets a long-term deal. GM Dale Tallon also negotiated with the agent for Nikolai Khabibulin, who could be moving on as the 'Hawks have Cristobal Huet under an expensive long-term deal, but the DAILYHERALD.COM'S Tim Sassone speculates Tallon's interest in Khabibulin suggests he's shopping Huet, possibly to Edmonton or Colorado as Sassone claims those two teams are at least listening to what Tallon is offering.
