It really is quite 2005-ey. If only someone would have called that Pods hit. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) Everything feels good when you're winning. Talk to me the next time we have a couple bad games in a row, let's see how we react. Well no s***... that's why I said it felt douchy to say right now. However, I just get a good feeling about this club. It feels like Ozzie's antics finally matter again, and that they are just out there having fun again. Like I said... it sounds douchy, but I just get that feeling. -

Is anyone else... I'm not kidding... starting to get that '05 feeling? I hate to say it, because it sounds douchy... but the coaches are all funny, the personalities are coming out... I dunno. I have a good feeling about this team right now. -

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) Cmon Sox. Seen this guy a few times now through the order. Lets do it now.1st and 3rded 'm. Now we just need to drive a b**** home. -
Oddly enough, if there's one spot the Sox can afford an injury it's to the middle infield. Hopefully Alexei didn't break the tip of his finger, but it looks that way. I'd guess he might be gone up to a month if that's the case. I really think we can weather the storm by moving Slayer up to the 2-spot.

How many White Sox games have you been to?

I'm right near the 30 level, but I went under. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Really is kind of amazing that we haven't yet heard the full story from him of how it developed, whether it was a ponzi scheme from the start, why he did it, etc. Yeah, that'll be a book deal.

What's the best seats you've ever had at the Cell?
Steve9347 replied to Marky Mark's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Front row down the left-field line in 2005. Joe Crede hit a massive bomb (against Detroit) and I held an idiot fan back from stealing a ball that Pods was chasing. I could have rubbed Pods' junk. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 10:46 AM) I meant dude behind Bulin and Huet last year. Was awful in his few minutes in the playoffs. Oh, you meant Corey Crawford. He is a terrible hockey player and I wouldn't expect to see him as the backup this year. I think it's high-time Antti Niemi takes that job. Although, a veteran on a one-year deal would make me feel better.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 10:36 AM) Everyone here must have a NBA job. GMAFB. $58.68 million That's the salary cap. You want to allocate 19% of that to a guy who doesn't start? The Bulls have been built around Gordon as the main scorer for years... it's not the key to a championship. It's time for you to realize this. -

See? Everyone knows he's a 6th man, and you just can't be successful paying a 6th man $11 mill per. -
The best Cuban pitching prospect, Aroldis Chapman, defected

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 09:58 AM) We keep signing all these Cuban players and pretty soon the Cuban government will wage war against the White Sox. We've got Ozzie. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) They will be better than us. Not a chance. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 07:33 AM) So, um, not to rain on everyone's parade, but who is going to be in goal for the Hawks? I'll puke if the answer in Cambell. We'd be in big trouble if Brian Campbell were going to be in goal for us. Cristobal Huet will be the starting goaltender, and he'll be fine. A few comments... 1) John Madden - This is a GREAT signing. The Blackhawks gained a very dependable centerman in this deal and a big step up from Mr. Mono. 2) Marian Hossa - You know things are working in the braintrust of this team when we can work out a deal for Hossa that counts as a $5.2 mill hit against the cap, while an injury risk and nowhere near as good a player in Gaborik is counting as 7.5 against the cap. 3) Marty Havlat - He's getting $5 per against the cap. Given the games played and guarantee that Hossa is, what a difference in talent for a $200k cap hit. Also, Marty, I loved you, but you can't be talking crap about the Hawks. They stuck with you when they could have traded you. We needed a goal-scorer and we got one of the best. Sorry man. 4) Tomas Kopecky - I think this was a tandem signing to get Hossa, a couple of Slovakian boys, but Kopecky will actually be a useful player... though I hope he doesn't take away from Burrish. Overall, the Hawks have already had the best off-season of any team. Now they need to work on Huet's glove-side and we'll be alright!
