  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 04:51 PM) Kinda hard to compare careers considering last year was Salmons' break out year.You realize Salmons is 29, right? And he'll be 30 this coming year? He got hot for an ok stretch, and if you remember he was injured and woeful in the playoffs. The Bulls and their fans sure jumped on that bandwagon quickly, but Salmons ain't all that and a bag of chips, and as far as playing basketball goes, Ben Gordon is the better player and it's not very close. At all.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) I have been a fan of Zach Galifianakis for years and I hope he has lots of success, but it is going to really bother me to see a bunch of people suddenly jump on his bandwagon and annoint him the funniest guy ever (and he is easily one of the funniest) simply based on The Hangover. Either tattoo "I was the original Galifianakis fan" on your head or get over it. I'd never seen him in anything before The Hangover, and don't think he's the funniest person on the planet, but I am excited for him in this show. You can either get upset about it or embrace it because it means there will be a lot more of him around.

    QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) Anyone else plan to see Public Enemies? Um. Of course.
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) And yet all you have to do is look at PER and you are able to see their careers in a nutshell. Gordon has a 16.0 PER, Salmons a wonderful, bousterous PER of 12.8. winner
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:33 PM) So I'm guessing the Pistons will trade Rip away and have Gordon there at full-time along with Stuckey at the point? That is a small back-court. Rip COULD play the 3.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) Let's see if he can guard No. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) or shoot on John Salmons. Yes. Same old Ben, different jersey... no doubt about it.
  7. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) I will miss The Bulin Wall. Yes, after being a huge disappointment for THREE years, he waited until we were backed into the corner and signed another goaltender before looking like the Khabibulin of old. There were more bad times than good with Khabibulin, and his being gone isn't that huge a deal. Huet needs to step it up.
  8. Huet, like most goaltenders, was the s*** last year when given consistent playing time. He didn't sign here to split time and he certainly didn't sign to be a backup. I expect him to be quite good in the coming season.
  9. Marian Hossa has already donned the Blackhawks sweater... well, technically Winterhawks.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) We must not have been able to find any takers for his contract. Dammit. Not the least bit surprising.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Uh oh, Khabi to the Oilers... tentative agreement Huet or bust baby.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Buster Posey could eventually be THE premier catcher in the league. I thought he couldn't field all that well?
  13. The Boston Globe says Jaroslav Spacek has signed with the Canadiens. Three years for $11.5 million in total. That is way too much.
  14. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) If Hossa is a direct replacement for Havlat, we are doing pretty good: 30 Goal Seasons - Hossa - 7, Havlat - 1 70 Point Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 80 Game Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 You left a few out there... 90 point seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 100 point seasons - Hossa - 1, Havlat - 0 40 goal seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0
  15. Niedermeyer re-ups with the Ducks for 1 year at 6.1.
  16. Now if the Hawks could just move Huet to anyone, they could remain in the mix for Marty.
  17. The way the Hossa deal is structured is simply brilliant.
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) Oh yeah, it's a hard cap in the NHL, you can't do it, that's right. The Redwings baffle me then. Ha. Supposedly they offered Hossa 8 years at 4 million per. I'd presume the Hawks will offer in the neighborhood of 5.5?
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Until Toews, Kane, and Keith all have to leave next season...... They'd figure it out. There's a reason teams like Detroit never have to let any talent go... I don't know how, but it's there somewhere. Oh yeah, going over the cap, that's right.
  20. So we trade Gordon to the Pistons and in return get Marian Hossa? Seriously, though, if we land Hossa I will be very happy. If they can somehow ink Havlat as well, we've taken it to the next level. Hossa is an insane talent.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) Just wait til it happens to you, Ginger. booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  22. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) Get Firefox, and get Noscript...and get it now. I couldn't agree more.
  23. Firefox is still better than Chrome.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:29 AM) Because is not really something that should be talked about. booooooooooooooooooooooo
