  1. it's April. you just knew paulie was going to GDP.
  2. just checked my magic 8 ball. It's got Cleveland's pen giving up the lead, topped off by wickman giving up a game winning granny to Thome.
  3. Feel bad for Freddy. Sometimes he has trouble warming up and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that was the case today.
  4. Pudge got a ring! Love it! Can't wait to harrass red sox fans with that.
  5. looks like pods is dropping that left shoulder on his swing, trying to hit it up. At least more than he used to.
  6. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) They werent wearing them, but i wouldnt be surprised if jerry or kw went to the booth sometime during the game to give them thiers. It would a good way to show the fans at how what they look like up close. nice idea. Dude, you think like a producer!
  7. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) i think i scared the entire town of valencia, california by yealing repeatedly... HOLY f***ING s***!!!!! THAT IS INSANE!!! YES!!!! FUUUUCKKK! nice weather we're having today, huh?
  8. Anybody see this picture of Thome's dinger Sunday night? Check out the reaction of the batboy in the background
  9. nasty looking line of thunderstorms heading for chicago - tornado watch in effect http://www.weather.com/weather/map/60695?n..._animated&day=1
  10. Buehrle's not one to shy away...
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) The plan is to watch game 4 of the WS sometime int he afternoon just to mentally prepare myself to take in this game What a great idea - thanks. I think I'll throw on game 3 in Boston, followed by the Paulie granny game and then game 4 to complete my pre-game warm ups. SWEET
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) I agree with this. Hopefully all the talk about his weight will motivate him even more to get it down and keep it under control. Ditto. I think oz is sending a message this week that it's time to get serious - calling out Jenks, sending Iguchi to the 2 hole, leaving Thome in Tucson to get extra AB's. Time to cinch it up and get ready for the season.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) Yes we had a lengthy discussion a few months back on the ideal temperture to caulk in and so on and so on. That's when you know there's a dearth of topics for discussion.
  14. Without Timo, Willie and Luis, it's tough to see this team repeating. Yet, since hope springs eternal, I predict the Sox will win the division in the last week of the season. I predict the Central's going to be a dog fight all year, with the twinkies pitching staff keeping them very close. Hands down the best division in baseball. I predict the biggest move of the season will be picking up El Duque off waivers for the playoff run (sorry, I'll never forget that 6th inning in Boston. Never. ) I predict Jerry Owens will be leading off and playing left before the season is finished - Pods is not so young and injuries are catching up. I predict Frank Thomas will launch a prodigious home run upon his return to the south side (in a losing effort). I predict the curse of Oakland will continue to haunt the Sox. They'll win once there. I predict members of Soxtalk will "politely" ask me to stop bashing Joe Crede when he's hitting .160 in June (reminding me that he's a second half hitter). I predict the first criticism of KW's offseason moves on this board will come no later than May 1st (not by me - I swear). I predict that no matter how they finish the season, nothing will ever be so sweet as going 11-1 in October '05. play ball
  15. The old philly athletics had the elephant as a masccot. Oakland picked it up as well.
  16. Check out the quote from Jenks regarding ST games: "...that's what those games are for. It doesn't matter if you get your tits lit. You just go out there and work on it." "tits lit" Linky
  17. Personally, I'm interested to see who KW will trade to bring back Carl. Cause you know it's coming.
  18. Frank Thomas whined? Felt disrespected? Wow...that's just so not like him.
  19. the drive to Tucson is a bit of a drag, but I stay in the Phoenix area every year. Also allows you to see some of the Sox road games since most of the teams are in the Phoenix area. Bring your sticks if you golf. Great food at TEP. Usually Sox tickets are easy to come by, but something tells me this year will be different.
