  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Reddy.. tape it that way you can watch it. I've watched every game but last nights twice at least. thank god, i thought i was the only one doing this
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) ez answer. FG. that means he pitched a complete game winner. i dont need anymore stress as it is. end of story. on a separate note dont forget to end every conversation you have with everyone with a little whisper of "whitesox". you guys shouldve seen me in some local chicago uno pizzeria singing Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey GoodBye by myself last night after the game was over. All ten of the people left in the bar were dying laughing and my ass! that place will forever be etched in memory. it was like i was stranded on gilligans island watching the sox win that crazy game AGAIN! HOLY COW! Where is Jimmy Piersall? Is that the one in Pacific Beach? I used to live near that joint!
  3. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) The White Sox' 10-1 record thus far is a bit overinflated IMO 1) all of the teams they faced could not set their rotation 2) Colon was out for the CS, Rocket only lasted three innings, we didn't even face Schilling 3) All of the teams, overall, were among the weakest set of opponents an eventual recent WS winner would face in my opinion. None of these teams are the 2001 or 2003 Yankees, who would've taken us deep and probably beat this team in the CS. Someone's got a Jeff Brantley rookie card in their closet.
  4. I woke this morning to the sound of Colin Cowturd saying he'd rather watch Al Rocker's gastric bypass surgery than watch this series. As I laid there it hit me that for once this entire season I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks - my Sox can win the series tonight. My Sox can win the series tonight. Wow.
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) Caple's article with the bench players... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2005...yson&id=2202776 Did you see Willie and Widger holding up four fingers after he hit that dinger?? AWESOME!!
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) I can't believe all of these players stepping up at different times and being the heroes. I NEED A PICTURE OF BLUM WITH HIS HAIR ALL f***ED UP AFTER THE HOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was just a weird hair moment from his helmet...but it's not!! He's wearing it like that now! The dude's a freak, I love it! He had jet black hair with white stripes when he was traded to Houston from Montreal.
  7. It is a shame when s*** like that happens. I hope Ensberg is wrong about the impact on free agency. Something tells me that a world championship would sway players more than a few lame fans.
  8. I have a good friend with a 65" hi-def flat screen TV and the most state of the art multi media room I've been in. He's a music orchestrator for features and a big Cubs fan. I generally only visit on Sundays to watch the Bears, but tomorrow night I'll be watching game 4 with a cubs fan. On his TV. Eating his food and drinking his drinks. With his wife serving me. It's only fair.
  9. If anyone can translate the babble that HR was throwing out to cover his ass after the game, please post it. It made absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I like Carl's spirit, but Oswalt obviously wasn't throwing at Crede in that situation. I thought he was. So did Crede. And Ozzie. And Carl. And everyone else on the bench and even the announcers.
  11. Here's a good article on Konerko having no desire to go to Boston: Link On another note I wish you could hear the ESPN local show in LA and how they're making such a huge deal out of this roof/no roof "scandal." Must be a slow day in sports. They're so jaded about the Sox, they're suggesting the league wants the Sox to win and that has something to do with the three disputed calls in the ALCS and WS.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) 12-2 at home. and a 20 game winner. His fastball is so solid, can throw it anywhere for strikes. And in case you didn't know, the white sox can't hit fastballs.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) FWIW, the night before the WS began, Buck said on the radio that when a big moment happened for the home team, he was just going to be quiet and let the crowd speak for itself. And I think that's a great idea, IMO. But he's call of Pods dinger was less than enthusiastic - a walk off home run in the world freakin' series?? He should listen to some of his dad's old calls.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I can't stand how one sided Rush's show has gotten. I love the days when he was a moderate and unbiased. you mean when he was working for the Royals?
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) I still think he'll finish the season between .275 and .280 and will resign with the White Sox. I've been laughing all year at all the people bashing him and quite frankly I'm convinced he's going to have some huge hits in the post-season for the Sox. were you consulting your magic 8 ball again or what? nice prediction...just having some fun looking at old posts on Konerko.
  16. Bummer. Let's hope it doesn't go six or we'll be getting a very good look at our bullpen. Linky
  17. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) That was very cool. I think it's also awesome that Anderson, McCarthy, Borchard and I'm not sure who else are getting to be a part of this. It's great! I was thinking the same thing last night - what a great experience to have as you begin your career. Can't hurt the Sox, that's for sure. Did you guys hear the replay of Rowand when Pods hit it out? They had him mic'd and his expression was one of total disbelief as he was saying, "no way...no way...(as it goes out)...NO WAY!!!) AWESOME.
  18. so-so start by Jose so-so start by Mark but I think Gar will come up big tomorrow. All the talk about Oswalt will add some incentive for him to shine, like he needed any more.
  19. "Houston, we have no problem" ok, that blows. "Chicago, we have the solution" ok, worse. "Scott - bunt it here!" meh...it is a very short porch, right?
  20. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Paulie is gonna command and collect much more paper than that. he's not going to make Vlad money -- he's not an MVP candidate. He doesn't hit over .300.
  21. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) "Official Brad Lidge Walk-off HR section" I like it. A lot.
  22. realistically, what do you think he's looking for? He's 29 so I think he's looking for a MINIMUM four year contract that probably starts off in the 12-15 mil range and goes up. Any other thoughts?
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) If this were a Democrat, we wouldn't even know about it. did you miss the 90s?
