  1. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Borchard's bat speed = swung at three pitches out of the zone
  2. all three games are sold out in cleveland - would love to silence them early.
  3. I noticed that pay-rod is batting 2nd for the yankees... has this been happening much this year? I don't watch them.
  4. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Yeah, I think Blum, Harris, & Perez are givens. Ozzie doesn't like Gload (for some dumb reason.) I think we should get both El Duque & McCarthy in the pen before Vizcaino, but Ozzie's been weird (& infuriating) about his loyalties to some players. But he did seem to allude to the fact that he's not looking forward to telling someone who played 162 games that they're not on the post season roster, which makes me believe it's Viz or Duque that's going to get torched.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) I don't think there is any reason for that. Nobody is attacking anyone else, just good banter between people with different opinions.
  6. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Kap...close this one up? :headshake
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) I think we have a better chance of winning tonight with this lineup then our "regulars". What does that say? I agree - these guys are going to want to prove something. I think they have every chance of winning this game and look out if it's close late in the game and you've got Konerko, Everett and Crede available to pinch hit. This is great. The starters deserve one game off for chrissakes. The whiners in boston should be glad the starters aren't being trotted out there to go through the motions.
  8. no way in hell Ozzie leaves Timo off the roster. Blum offers a ton of flexibility, but I was really disappointed to hear him blame lack of playing time on his ground out double play the other night. If he's not comfortable coming in to hit off the bench, which it sounds like he isn't, then I think you lean toward Gload. Plus Gload's a better bat.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 06:40 AM) I'd love to see Boston and Cleveland go 2-1 this weekend. A three-way tie would be so sweet, and fun to watch. Burn those arms.
  10. I was not nervous for a single instant - I knew we had it in the bag all along.
  11. Uribe ranging to his right to throw out Crisp last week.
  12. QUOTE(shakes @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) That's my favorite pic right there - thank you Don Cooper, you're no Nardi Contreras and thank god for that!!
  13. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) Yep, if we're only carrying 11 pitchers then there's going to be 2 odd men out. Viz has got to be one of them but I'm torn about who the other should be. I can see why Ozzie recused himself from these decisions and is leaving it up to the coaching staff and KW. Ozzie did that? I'm surprised. Can't imagine another manager like Cox or Torre saying he'll let his coaches and the front office decide. Oh well. One thing's for sure, it's a really tough call. I'm not crazy about Vicaino but he's been with the team all year and contributed at times to victories. As has Willie Harris, although he's obviously not been there the whole time. But Duque won some big, big games for us. Need I remind you of the first game in Minny this year? He's helped Count all year long and I'd hate to see him left off the roster. Just as I'd hate to see Hermanson's name left off. But if you're looking for someone who hasn't contributed much lately, Hermie's right up there with Duque.
  14. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) As the Sox arrived at their hotel in Cleveland, none other than Frank Thomas was there to greet and congratulate every one of his teammates with a party favor hanging out of his mouth as they got off the team busses. He flew in to celebrate Thursday night with the boys!!! Way to go Frank, Im sure this gesture will go a long way with your teammates!!! You made my night posting this.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Now you just do the right thing and get back ahead of those damn Yankees. I never cheer for the Yankees. It's a religious thing. But I may have to this weekend solely because I'm tired of hearing what a feel-good story the red sox are. :puke
  16. palms sweating so bad they're slipping off the keys. damn I love baseball
