  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 2, 2013 -> 10:36 AM) Those healthy situations are neither healthy nor similar CC started out healthy hence its relative.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 11:21 PM) 1st cousin to healthy Nick Johnson A healthy C.C. Sabathia played withe Indians when he became a free agent he signed with the yanks and is now wealthy C.C.Sabathia.
  3. QUOTE (kevo880 @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 05:49 PM) Sizemore has stated that he is going to wait until he is completely healthy to sign with a team. I remember reading an article where he said he felt too much pressure to come back and contribute last season while he was under contract. He will wait until around midseason to sign. Healthy Grady in form would be a great acquisition. He played well against us so all the acqusition of players we acquired never worked out but this guy seemed to be a complete player.
  4. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 07:45 PM) Think he would wear a Sox hat in the HoF? Wasn't it Reinsdorf who tried to place or did place a diminishing skills clause in the big Hurt's contract? We shouldn't judge what other owner's do.
  5. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) An anagram for "Gordon Beckham" is "Bench Mark Good," which would appear to bode well for bench players on our team named Mark. Do we have anyone on our benched named Mark? I don't know. It's hard to even care anymore. A left handed hitting catcher coming off the bench or he might be good enough to beat out Flowers. Bryan Adams
  6. QUOTE (WilburWilhelm @ Jan 27, 2013 -> 04:01 PM) Is it really brain surgery? De Aza Keppinger Rios Konerko Dunn Viciedo Ramirez Beckham Flowers All the hitters seem to have similar approaches at the plate. If there is one player's plate discipline I admire, that would be Carl Everett. Everet change his batting approach when he had 2 strikes. I liked him as a player but I did differ with him on the dinosaur"s existance.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) This was my favorite part... His ratings off of baseball cube. 59 Speed 9 Contact 18 Patience 46 Batting 79 Power this may be the best move of the offseason
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 11:17 PM) That's a good way to look at it. and Matt, unlike Myers doesn't look like he could be a member of the duck dynasty cast
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) RIP Stan http://bostonglobe.com/sports/2013/01/19/s...3o1J/story.html mr consistency
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 08:52 AM) No one wanted him/no one wanted to pay him whatever he was asking for.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 08:52 AM) No one wanted him/no one wanted to pay him whatever he was asking for. Sounds sad I will put some money toward a Javy collection if it someone wishes to start one.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Just disregard the guy the Sox got for him helped them win a WS. Can't posters find something legitimate to complain about? The White sox lack of moves this offseason has caused me to feel jealous of any team that is making acquisitions good or bad
  13. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 08:37 AM) Yes sir! I am going to spring training in early March with my son and grandson. I remember is some of my last visits I was dissapointed in players I thought were going to help us. I also saw players begin well but never amounted to $%^&* I saw Beckham look like he was ready to make the team with his first visit to Glendale. What pitchers position player or just invitees would any of you bet on to make the team.. At a horse race this would be call handicapping. Anyone with some insight?
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) Oops. Tex meant Konerko hitting 34 homers, not 34 years of age. Frank could neither field nor throw Konerko excels at these. Konerko had a slow beginning and learned how to hit. Konerko by an eyelash. If you added Dick Allen I would say dick Allen is who I want at the plate or in the field.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) YOU JUST DON'T GET IT DO YOU? Baseball is an old timer sport and WE NEED TO KEEP IT THAT WAY! YOU KIDS AND YOUR DAMN TECHNOLOGY. I like the Dh in the american league because without it we wouldn't have seen Frank Thomas but not using the bull pen and dugout phone will ruin the game
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) that little angry near-fetus on the youtube's gonna be thrice pissed now to all cub fans because of Lillibridge you need cancel all October plans you are going to the playoffs and possibly the world series!
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) We already have that in Gavin Floyd. we still don't know how soon or what we are going to get out of John Danks maybe the reason why javy is even being considered.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) Peavy doesn't completely implode. Javy just explodes. he would give whatever team he pitches for 200 innings and win 1/2 of his games.
  19. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) You don't think Rios at 3/36 has value? I think he'd beat that on free agency this year. That being said, I'm not supporting the idea of trading him. Rios surprised even himself last year. I would gamble that 2013 Rios stats will be at least the same or better than last year's stats.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 10:58 AM) Wow! Me too. http://network.yardbarker.com/mlb/article_...photos/12521716 ....Maybe we underestimated Beckham I think he is hitting 300
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) Early in the 2013 season hopefully Bat have neither a right nor left configuration. However; baseball gloves and golf clubs do differ for application by people who swing and catch from different sides.
  22. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) 10. Probably not, he's been in decline since 08. I admit I've never particularly like him, his style, his propensity to be unable to locate in crucial situations. 9. I don't know. 8. This team has been in love with all or nothing hitting for far too long. We need some good situational hitting and hitters badly. 7. I hope not. 6. Not sure. I think he can be, and I really like his ability, makeup and arm. He needs to be more consistent. 5. Keppinger 4. I hope I'm wrong but I don't know if the guy can hit. He's also a + defender but not great. 3. I'm going to believe that he won't regress and will remain solid for the 13 season. 2. I think last year was as good as it will ever be for Peavy. I hope he can approach the success had last year in the coming season. 1. Right now the Sox look like a .500 or so team to me. Would love to be wrong. Every year we have 10 similar questions we saw some very strong performances from Dunn,Rios, Quintanna, Sale, Viciedo and from an array of rookies out of the pen. I would love to see just some improvement from our regulars but am still looking forward to seeing some new blood via trade or fa to this team.
  23. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 27, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Bernstein was saying that Phil Rogers IIRC was linking the Sox with Ben Zobrist.. personally would love this. Zobrist has some real avid fans in Eureka illinois. They love him he's bigger than Even Reagen there.
