  1. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 12:16 AM) I was referring to trading chips. I realize he would be a rental, but it would cost some. pick up his 9 million for the remaining contract is our only chance.

  3. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Buddy Bell? Not so sure he gets the credit, but I would like to hear your thoughts. I think JHan Marinez will be ok. He showed some confidence out there
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) I would be going for BMac and possibly Colon as a consolation prize. I think you have picked the two most likely that kw would pick. Cooper loves Colon and perhaps working with an older BMAC will make a difference.
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) I saw a game once from the club level and did not like it. I did not get the same feel of atmosphere that I do in my normal seats and I would much rather the style of 100 level seats rather than club level. Site lines are good however. The food is brought to you not the same fare as in the lower or upper level. you crave a brat with sauteed onions and peppers is not on the menu. It seems more claustrophobic. I like seeing the fans.
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 11:27 PM) Kanny lost 2-0 Johnson 5 innings and 1 run, but 4 walks. Other than that not much other than Walker picked up stolen base No. 39. looks like Walker will be in Chicago in september at least as a pinch runner.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) JC Romero is available. I would take him over the inexperienced Septimo, who has no clue how to hold runners on and spotty control. Juan Uribe has a 25% chance (or more) of becoming available to bolster the bench. http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgersnow/l...0,3368879.story Juan can play 2nd ss or third. As far as Septimo with his spotty control ; Iw ould just say if he hits the strike zone its an accident.
  8. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) By the way, I'm not saying bunting in these situations, although that's one way to do it. But you can let up on your swing and go the other way without bunting. absolutely.
  9. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) If Adam Dunn comes up with runner(s) on, he should be swinging for the fences. If Adam Dunn comes up with nobody on, a walk is as good as a hit (and probably more likely to occur than a successful bunt from a man who hasn't bunted since little league), so you'd rather just see him take his normal approach. Even the occasional bunt hit won't get them to stop shifting against him. that is not the point of the discussion is can he purposely try to get a hit going to leftside of the infield once in a while so he could be a little more effective in certain situations. Other lefties have but he can't or can he?
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 09:00 AM) Not to mention he still has that Konerko guy coming up behind him. Anyone's argument about all or nothing hitting by Dunn is absurd. Jees no one is expecting to do it every time but Thome or accidentally on purpose would occasionally slap it to left for a base hit with good results. I'm not sure how well Thome was at controlling it but it was a thing of beauty when he place the ball to left. For the amount of money we pay him he should be able to hit it anyplace he wants to. I don't believe he is that one dimensional.
  11. saw on mlb ticker. looks like that is it for Bobby.
  12. I never hear to much about Tyler Kuhn he seems to handle every level I there any chance he can taste the bigs. He's playing 3rd bats lleft. Could he be any good in the bigs.
  13. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) Yeah, I'm thinking about it. I have nothing else to do tonight. Humber quiets Dodger lumber! headline
  14. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) north side has two pitchers and we could use either own garza or dempster. north side is in full rebuilding mode. Are they interested in any of our lower level prospects. Also could look into three team trades. Really no reason that we cannot trade with them. We don't compete directly with them. I think that Humber's confidence level iis in the tank letdown fron the perfect game he threw. Or better yet he needs to go on the dl to straighten out some muscles or nerves that effect hsi pitching performance. He goes on the dl for a few we bring up the best we have from charlotte (Axelrod) . He makes some rehab starts and voila cy young Humber returns. Caution this reply may contain some wishful thinking
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 10:30 AM) Kind of ironic that he is finally getting his first call up and his brother is on his way to Charlotte Funny, I've have never see them together.
  16. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 31, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) One thing Hawk pointed out that is true about this year that the White Sox seemed to struggle with in the past is to foul off good pitches as opposed to weakly putting them into play. i was just thinking about Jordan Danks I know not too much written but it seems that if it was just for his fielding he'd be playing in the bigs but I've noticed his strikeout rate remains unchanged high while his average is creeping up. FUkodome has been used sparingly in the lineup. Unless some injury occurs I don't see his playing time increasing. I was just wondering if under Manto's tutelage Jordan could cut down on his strikeouts and add a little power to his swing. It is not like we have a lot invested in Fukodome and RObin doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in his bat. Would it be worth it to bring up Jordan to play in our outfield and perhaps give fukodome a chance to play on some other team;
  17. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 28, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) O hudson is on the all star ballot in the nl. I voted for him. i doubt if he wins but what would the rule be as far as being the #1 vote getter for second base in the nl but currently playing in the al. Would they allow him to play for the nl?
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ May 19, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) 40 games in, we're at the unofficial quarter point in the season. Quadruple some of these numbers.... http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHW/2012.shtml Morel---what are you doing here? Konerko---batting title? 200 hits? Dunn---48 homers? Well over 200 k's? I also never would have though Nate Jones would have an ERA under 2.00 at this point. Some good things. Some bad things. It's a .500 team that's underperformed.
  19. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) Charlotte http://www.milb.com/gameday/index.jsp?gid=...mp;mode=gameday Danks and Dan Johnson having big games. mark teahan played 1b for Syracuse.
  20. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) If he gives up 5 ER tonight, it will be the first time this season. A few years back it was Danks who seemd to break us out of a losing streak. So I hope he starts us back to our winning ways.
  21. Can phegley play any other position besides catcher which seems to be blocked ate major league level could they groom him for any other position? He seems to get hits when the rest of the team goes hitless.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) These... Viciedo had adjustment periods at two levels in the minors as well. Give the man a chance. You can't develop young talent by giving them three weeks as a starter and then throwing in the towel. Total absurdity. I believe last year at charlotte he was struggling before he got his stroke.
