  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) You're not going to figure out that Chris Sale is a bad starter based on September of this year. You're also not going to find out that he's a good starter based on September of this year. you can do anything based on anything. That is why we got Dunn, Rios and Peavy.
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) What are you guys smokin'? That's a terrible lineup. Rios batting 5th?! Scary. Lillibridge hasn't been hitting, Morel hasn't exactly been tearin' it up (when he does play). Flowers is Flowers. I hope to hell they hit, but that lineup is not going to put the fear into anyone. I am be choosing Flowers as my pick to click. I hope he plays well enough that Ozzie never plays Aj again.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) roving ot I think Rios is even more scary going forward than Dunn. Alex's OPS on the road is now closing in on 400 for the entire season. That's almost impossible to do. PLEASE NEVER MAKE A STATEMENT AGAIN ABOUT LEADING THE WHITE SOX in the 2nd half. Thanks for your time and consideration, guys. As bad as Rios / dunn are they play nearly every day. Doesn't OzzieKW get it? It is one thing to have players that suck but when do you come to the realization that they are not improving nor are they going to improve.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) Someone get that man a beer. And then another. Sometimes when a player is DFAed it is because a team realizes they made a mistake judging a player's talent. Also sometimes a GM will think that a team blocks another team from acquiring a DFAed player and ends up with a player that is truly worthless player who deserved to be DFAed. Or sometimes if it quacks and looks like a duck it is a duck.
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) they've handled him fine. He's getting ML experience. He can and should start next season. Don't trade him for some short term nonsense; After priming Doug Davis to be a lefty relief specialist send Sale down to Charlotte to develop into a starter.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) How is his arm regarding throwing out runners? He's not the best but is working to be better.... http://centralinfocus.blogspot.com/2011/03...ong-spring.html
  7. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) Good hitters don't have a career .626 OPS, people like Chris Getz do. A thought, the only game we won in that series was the one that Castro caught. How many of our losses against Minnesota has Aj started. I just thought is the twins game strategy against us is how AJ handles the pitchers and might it also hinge on Aj not being able to throw anyone out. I think Gardenhire vs Ozzie is like the Road runner and wile coyote except that wile coyote has a lot more imagination.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:44 AM) Cmon that's unfair. Ozzie at times freaks out and says s*** like that. The majority of the time he answers the f***ing questions. He is an entertaining guy and will manage in Florida prolly 20 years. We're lucky to have him, but his time has likely come. It would take a huge extension to keep him, cause Florida will give him what he wants in a long term deal. I hate to say this but whatever Ozzie has been doing in game situations every opposing manager knows what he' s going to do. Why is anyone questioning him when the outcome is favorable. THere is always an alternate way of managing your players. This time it worked. Man on second with double, a bunt popped up for triple play . Has that happened? It worked that is all that anyone should ponder. The next 10 times Ozzie will do it the same way he usually does it and another runner in scoring position will fail to score. Finally he changed his M.O.
  9. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:34 PM) I honestly, SERIOUSLY feel that we might not win a single game vs. the Twins this season, and I don't think I'm being dramatic, either. as long as AJ is behind the plate we won't.
  10. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:36 AM) They will help just by replacing 2 of the carcasses that are here now Which 2 would Kenny replace? Not Dunn, not Rios, they get to play because one is our best overpaid lazy, underachieving centerfielder the other is just too horrible for words. They are playing because their contracts are too big to dfa.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Greg, I don't think we want to see Tyler Kuhn or Eduardo Escobar at 2B. If anything, they'd be likely to give Omar more playing time or perhaps even Teahen out of desperation, although his defensive shortcomings and turning the double play, they'd give up that experiment in 3-5 games. Royals already tried it. Lillibridge is even more discouraging offensively than Beckham the last month. I may be wrong but Beckham can be sent down because he must have options left. Bring Viciedo up and let beckham get his stroke back in AAA.
  12. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) I hate to admit it now, but I was also very PO'd when the Sox traded Cameron for Konerko. Earlier in 1999 when Cameron scored from second on a sac fly, I was hooked. But, glad to have Paulie and that World Series Grand Slam. Kuhn 0 for 4 not a great debut. I was expecting 2 for 4. I am still hoping for his success at aaa.
  13. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) omfg... Pierre stays but Quentin goes? this is exactly the type of stupid bulls*** I'd expect of the Sox tbh Ozzie allegiance to juan is the only reason he is still playing on the sox. De Aza is tearing it up in AAA. He out does Juan in every aspect of the game except name recognition and Ozzie's love.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) If we get Carlos Lee out of Viciedo, that is a huge win for the Sox. I hope people realize that. I also hope the expectations haven't gotten to ridiculous for Dayan. Seeing posts like this is just setting up people for being pissed off. I can help with the ridiculous expectations; how about a right handed Dan Pasqua. Pasqua had a good arm , lot of power.
  16. Cameron designated for assignment by Redsox. Is there anything left he's 38. Will somebody pick him up?
  17. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 09:08 AM) Will he sign? Any news?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:42 AM) I'll take the word of someone who is in the industry like ptatc who knows plenty of people who have personally dealt with AJ. Actually, I know what gets AJ's goat just a guess but Peavey made a comment to AJ about his inability to throw runners out.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) CQ was just teasing us. Hitting .190 in his last 10 games. peavey just about done again don't count on aj to throw anyone out.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) What an ugly, gaping black f***ing hole that is in the lineup. Dunn's treatment is the opposite of reality for us when we go to our jobs. If we go to our jobs and not produce at an acceptable rate for our pay grade we are demoted or let go. Dunn however; with his less than mediocre showing is treated like a big chubby Princess.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 09:23 AM) Some writer texted Kenny during the game last night and asked about Viciedo. Kenny responded by saying he's going to give what Ozzie needs. Either Ozzie has more power than Kenny or Kenny needs to stop playing games. Seriously, if the Sox don't make the playoffs this year, both should be fired for playing this stupid ass ego game. Ozzie thinks he needs pierre.
  22. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) Also, call up Viciedo. We can't wait till september. Someone will have to tell some underperforming starter that ther time is up!
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) Right now, Alexei will just GIDP. you can't gdip if you lead off an inning.
  24. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) Proud to say I never was hard on Lili; I honestly don't get where the early season hate came from. I'm only guilty of 11 and I don't see how that's incorrect, quite frankly. I was very impressed with lillibridge work ethic at spring training. He seem to work harder than others. I just thought he was trying to make the team. He works at every aspect of his game and it is paying off for us and Brent.
