  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) It would be about time. There's still time to take this division, but we have to start making the right calls like this one. lillibridge to lead off if pierre dfaed or traded away
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) Limits batters to a low BA. Well, I would think they probaby are afraid to dig in at the plate for fear his wild p[itches will taken their head off. But, in all seriousness maybe something positive will happen in his career and he will be of help to the Sox Seems he'll have to learn controI'm guessing since there is no mention of secondary pitches that he perfect some secondary stuff too.
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) How about that, the light hitting Dash light up a stud pitching prospect. I keep watching Kuhn's stats . Is he that good? How high is his ceiling and when will he be moved to Charlotte?
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) anyone see the replay, was he safe? Accordinge ump to the ump he was out. I don't want to know any different.
  5. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) pull him now before he walks another three guys... home ERA of 7.8 is awful.!st base coach a little upset with the call at first. Which is fine with me.
  6. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) Which version? the one where he never makes it easy.
  7. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) No walks. I feel like we have jenks on the mound again.
  8. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) No walks. I feel like we have jenks on the mound
  9. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:08 AM) What annoys me so much about this team is that it's always one step forward, one step back or one step forward, two steps back. We go out and kill two of the best pitchers in the AL against Seattle in Pineda/Hernandez, then we lose in dramatic fashion to the Ms who were starting Jason f***ing Vargas. Then the As, we kill Cahill, again on of the best, then we lose again in dramatic fashion to the As. It just seems like stunt our own momentum with catastrophic losses. And somehow we respond well to losses, and generally win the next night. But we just never keep this positive momentum, we always go backward. That's why I can never see us winning more than 83/84 games, we are glued to this .500 mark. We always want to be right near it. I can't say anythinng except that Sergio was bound to blow one eventually. He wble finding having trouble finding the strike zone. He didn't have a strikeout pitch. However; I am a believer somewhat in luck and the broadcast was on CSN2 which is 666 on my direct tv progamming.
  10. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Our mop up pitcher will get the last out one way or another told you. now we need a miracle for our vegas better we need 4
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) That's exactly what I'm saying. This team has no history of bouncing back from devastating losses such as these. Our mop up pitcher will get the last out one way or another
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) It is literally two to three days after the draft for 49 of our 50 picks. The teams most of these guys will be playing on don't even start playing for another week and a half. It is still reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllly early. How long was it before Beckham signed the year he was drafted. I know it takes time.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Should be a gauge at what they will offer Walker. I wish they coud get some of our draftees signed so they can start their assent to the show.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 09:23 AM) Unlike most pitchers making their debuts against us, I hope this guy can't get any breaking stuff over. A= Dunn claims that our scouting department sucks. He's probably a knuckleballer. I do hope we can keep our good team play going. I was quite satisfied to see Dunn and Rios with some good at bats including a home run. I was most satisfied with the team effort yesterday.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) Have you not read this script yet? Melvin turns them around and they win the west. I wish Melvin turns the Athletics around but not before this series ends. After that, more power to him.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) Last year it was literally a 16 game stretch. April 1st through June 21st - .216/.307/.394/.702 June 22nd through July 11th - .367/.492/1.082/1.573 July 15th through the end - .241/.338/.419/.757 Thus far, it's been the complete opposite, where he's hit pretty much all year outside of like a 2 week stretch in May. There are going to be more streaks like that, but he's been great so far. with your figures he won't reach hs pinnacle for another 13 days when he'll hit in the .450 range or better.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Do we really have to put up with Alex Rios for 3 1/2 more years? I'd much rather have Lillibridge in CF and Dunn in the line-up. 75-80% more confident that Dunn will eventually figure it out than Rios. Interesting in all the JR quotes that he's said very little about Rios or Peavy. one fo the players that this site members coveted but KW never pulled the trigger on a deal was Chone Figgins. Just noticed he's hitting .185 before his last at bat. I guess that other coveted players also have bad seasons.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) Yeah, let's get irate fans that judge how good a player is based on how likely he is to autograph for a notorious autograph hound. Sounds good. All I got from the video was that he called Alex a bum.. As for when we picked Rios off of Waivers we wanted to keep I think Detroit from getting. If they would have succeeded they would have acquired him. Personally, I think once the leagues pitchers figure out a hitter's weaknesses it is up to the hitter to fix the holes in his swing. Alex unlike Dunn is not facing a different league he is being shut down by pitchers that he has already faced. I do however realize that us dissing him is not helping. paulie has adapted after going through some tough times at the plate.
  19. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:53 AM) Hell i don't agree with it (i agree with your side) but it was bound to be posted if i didn't. So i just beat someone else to the punch. I saw this video before we got Alex. When i first watched the clip, I just thought the fan was just rude. Now, I think the guy calling out Alex was right. He had hit his talent level right on the head. perhaps KW can find that guy and hire him as a scout. We could have saved a lot of money by heeding his advice.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Safe to say with Cubs draft that they're going into rebuilding mode? you may see some of their 2011 draft picks on their 2012 opening day roster.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 09:40 AM) I have a Dunn jersey shirt. I've worn it once since he returned from that appendectomy. WHoever said that an appendix is not a useful organ, didn't realize that in certain individuals the baseball talent dwells. WHat else could it be? He has played horribly since the organ's removal.
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 08:13 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnerId=rss_cws Will he sign?
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) We can hope its just a matter of time, but since the All Star break last season, Dunn has 424 ABs with 21 homers 67 RBI, 73 walks, 170 Ks and a .203 average. At some point its not just a slump anymore. Its pretty scary he's at the point he's at over 60 games into the season. Dunn has a unique talent he can swing and suck at the same time....
  24. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 02:02 AM) Is it that difficult for a NL hitter to transition to the AL? OLD Sasquatch seems to be having a rough go of it presently. It is hard for us sox fans to watch Dunn to return to form when we have never seen him in form. He was a .259 hitter with the nats while he he is a .180 hitter here. So if kw gave Dunn a value based on his Washington nationals average of .259 and he is hitting .179 that would be a 69% of what he hit there. 69% is usually considered an F .
  25. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) yeah, he's been horrible this year gmafb Dunn will answer miggy's bomb.
