QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Total bulls***. You can tell in the first second of a call if Bernstein will even allow any sort of discussion. Right.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:11 PM) I can't stand the segment, it's terrible. It's absolutely hilarious. B and B don't pile on simply for disagreeing, the problem is 95% come with nothing to back up their point, or are just flat out wrong about the topic at hand. There are some very great listeners/emailers, but most of the callers (or at least who they let on the show) are idiots.

OSU only -9 or 10 at NW? I know Rock would jump on NW, but that seems low. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 11:46 AM) I know it's hard to get people to stay in their seats during play, but at least some stadiums don't let people walk back into the stands during play. I know they do it at Wolves games and they do it at Target Field, and I'm quite appreciative of it. I'm sure it's done a ton of other places too and I'm just not aware of it. Yeah, I can't get on ushers for not making people stay in during play...the onus is on the fan there. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) Its just not that hard to wait a few seconds. I dont understand those people. It's really not. There's usually about 60 faceoffs in a hockey game, do the math, a stoppage every minute on average. You can wait until the next one. And there are 3 TV timeouts during the period. The best is when it's a power play, or it's like runners on the corners, 2-2 count, someone SUDDENLY gets the urge to leave their seat. What the f***? Clearly you aren't paying attention to the game whatsoever. Why are you even here, if not to watch this particular moment, at the height of drama? Side note, also hate the guys that get up during play with like 20-30 seconds left, thinking the period is over, to beat the rush. Usually gets a "goals scored in the final minute DO indeed count, and it HAS happened before" from me. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) Obliviousness/ignorance. (not having grown up a hockey fan myself, if I was just a casual watcher going with a group of friends and didn't waste all day at a sports forum, I wouldn't know about this 'rule' either) Maybe not, but I bet if your friend or another fan (me) said to wait for the next whistle, you'd realize it made sense, is courteous, and would adapt. I appreciate the people in a row that get up during a whistle/timeout and say "sorry," I laugh and say no, don't be sorry, this is when you're supposed to get up/come back in, you can do this whenever you want. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 10:02 AM) That is just wrong. Brutal. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) SportsCenter @SportsCenter After Penn State's win over No. 4 Michigan last night, an unranked team has beat a top-5 team EIGHTEEN times this year. That's Madness. Didn't realize the # was quite that high. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) Shamrock Shakes are delicious, I would write them a letter of hunger and desire Correction, they used to be delicious until they went cheap and changed it to a vanilla shake and some syrup mixed in. -

Kyle, you'd be doing what about 80% of the fans there do already, so I'm used to it. However, Hawks have worn a camo jersey before, so if you actually own that, I'm OK with it: http://royaljerseysmall.com/bigpic/Chicago...e%20jerseys.jpg Just make sure to bring your girlfriend, and if you know nothing about hockey, talk loudly like you do to try to impress her. I would pay to go back in time and watch some of these fans survive in the Stadium, trying to get up in the middle of the play etc. As a 6 year old I knew to sit the f*** down and wait for a whistle. It's not hard. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) I still remember the loud, collective groan that went up in the dorms when that happened. Beats seeing a live floor rush and having OSU fans yell at me until my car door closed. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) They beat Ok State(who was the best team on their schedule, not Ill or Butler) and KState. And like I said, I'm certainly not saying they should be ranked number 1 or even a 1 seed at this point but my eye tells me they're one of, if not the best team in the country. They have scorers/shooters from every position on the floor, they're extremely efficient offensively, their defense has improved big time as the season has went on, they're big, they're fast as hell, they're really, really good. And don't get me wrong, I understand what you're saying but from what I've seen, they're as good as anyone. So they are 2-2 in those games. It's just so hard to judge, and yes you have to rely on the eye test. They are very similar to Florida in that regard... -

Oh I absolutely adore my Sullivan jersey as well. He's one of my favorite Hawks of all time. I've never been a big fan of owning all-star jerseys for any team or player. I guess I just figure if I'm going to buy another jersey, get one that the team wears. I've never been proud to show off that player X made the all-star team. -
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) I have no idea what I was trying to say with this very drunken post. Anyway, any Firefox users switched to Waterfox? I did today. I like it. All customizations from Firefox translate nicely and it seems much faster. It's also not quite the resource hog. WTF is Waterfox? I'm intrigued.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 10:45 PM) Well maybe I'll hold off on the double black until I have a legitimate one at least. The only other question would be where would be best place to go price rise that is official and should I go with Toews or Saad. Yes, get a legitimate one. Honestly after that don't get the double black, get some other Hawks apparel, like a nice hoody, pullover, etc. instead. There are a lot of good options out there that you'll get more use out of once you have a jersey checked off the list. You could always do one from nhl.com. Have also heard good things about River City Sports and Triple Threat Sports. I'm not sure what the quality is at a place like Total Hockey or Dick's, you'd have to check them out to be sure. Stay super safe if it's your first (and possibly only) jersey, go Toews. You don't want to end up like me and have Ruutu, Bell, Sullivan etc. While we're on the topic, I wish people would stop buying green knockoff Hawks jerseys. Not only do they look brutal by themselves, but they look terrible amongst all the red/black/white in the crowd, and on top of it, they've never worn any such jersey. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) They're pretty damn good. Resume wise they don't deserve to be number 1 but they're good enough to win it all this year. I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's so hard to judge teams like that. Play almost nobody, and when they have, they've lost. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) I'm also a huge anti-knockoff guy. A few years back, some guy got 8 years for selling $600k worth of those. They look horrible and they are NOT authentic even though they ARE stitched. They're illegal. If you sell or wear them, you look/are stupid. No Hawks jersey ever has had an Indian head that is the size of my fist where the Indian head looks like Michael Jackson. They are beyond awful, they don't even look close to a real jersey. Though in a way I like them, as they tip me off to the bandwagon, know-nothing hockey guys immediately, so I don't make the mistake of trying to talk hockey with them. Instead I'll search out the guy with a Calder jersey. -

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 07:28 PM) So there are more avid baseball fans around Wrigley? I think you are actually agreeing with me. The casual fan is drawn to factors other than the team. Location and ballpark. The ballpark is more than sight-lines and parking. It's the entire experience. I think welcoming people to the ball park is very important. If people do not feel welcome are they really going to go? Correct me if I'm wrong but your first post said something to the effect of "the Sox aren't welcoming casual fans." They certainly try. It doesn't have anything to do with any perceived notion of not welcoming casual fans. The Cell is much better than Wrigley in every way, but the location hurts it, as does the mob mentality of lovable losers. If people were actually paying attention to amenities and the family experience, they'd venture to the South side. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) Since this re-alignment is stupid, I will change the subject. Patrick Kane stops the "college boy" act and applies himself, and look - 24 points in 19 games. The future is sexy. Seriously. In addition to filling it up, he's backchecking, playing some defense here and there, cutting down on turnovers (though there are still some really bad ones here and there), and it looks like he has more energy towards the ends of shifts. Very happy he dropped that act and also played through the lockout to stay focused. That's how superstars are supposed to act. Steve I don't know if I posted this before but it reminded me of a Bernstein article from a few weeks ago: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/01/27/ber...ner-growing-up/ -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) It's definitely fair to have that 5th team take a spot, but why not just keep it set as conference playoffs then. Under the new format, the conf. finals could pit the Pacific champion Chicago Blackhawks vs. the Midwest champion Vancouver Cancuks. That's stupid. I wouldn't mind conference playoffs if it was just one big conference, and get rid of the top 3 seeds like they have now. If you are going to break it down into divisions and a huge unbalanced schedule, I'm OK with divisional playoffs. I'm not too caught up in who wins what division once it comes to the playoffs, that part doesn't bother me as much. Just a tournament to me at that point.
