  1. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Richmond just left Illinois. I would say they're in shambles to be honest. Anyone have insider info on what went on with him and Bruce? Uh, you're a touch late to the party... Richmond was an ass bag, didn't go to class, punched a teammate, attitude problems the whole year, and they didn't want him back. Not sure how one guy acting like that has us in shambles.
  2. Yeah, Anaheim is still in the mix, but I just don't think they will fail to pick up 2 points in 2 games against the Kings, who have already clinched - they are playing for position, but Anaheim is hot and playing to get in, and are at home tonight. You never know obviously, but I see a win tonight. Will definitely be pulling for the Kings in regulation though.
  3. Along with Zetterberg, Kronwall is now out for both games as well.
  4. Well southsider let me clarify a bit. 2 points COULD get us in if in regulation, AND Dallas loses in any fashion or takes a shootout to win it. But it's not over if we win, we'd need help.
  5. Unless I'm missing something, I don't believe so. Let's say we get those 2 and that's it. 97 points, I'll assume it was a ROW, so 38 ROW. Dallas wins out in regulation. 97 points, 38 ROW. The tiebreaker after ROW is points earned in games between the 2 teams. We have earned 3, Dallas has earned 6.
  6. Dallas won in regulation last night. Hawks 95 (37 ROW) Dallas 93 (36 ROW) Hawks @ Wings tonight, Dallas @ Avs tonight. Hawks vs Wings Sunday afternoon, Dallas @ Minnesota Sunday evening. Keep in mind that the Hawks either need more points than Dallas or a tie in points with more ROW. If we tie in points and ROW, Dallas knocks us out. 3 points clinches it. But we need to hope Dallas somehow struggles against the Avs or Wild. If we need to get 3 points from Detroit, this is going to be really dicey. A regulation loss tonight and we're probably screwed (and if Dallas wins in regulation we no longer control our destiny). Avs have won 4 games since January, so while I'm hopeful for help, I wouldn't count on it at all. Maybe they can somehow get them to OT or something. Huge night tonight.
  7. Yes, sticking with the on-ice call was correct, that's why I said we were extremely fortunate to have a goal call originally. Bottom line is whatever was called on the ice was going to stick. You couldn't see conclusively whether his stick touched it nor could you see for sure if it was across/not across the goal line. Inconclusive, call stands. Had the whistle just blew and there was no call on the ice, we probably would have had no goal. But with the NFL standard we're using, it wasn't going to come back.
  8. 3 points clinches it. 2 points forces Dallas to win all three*, which if they do, they get in over us on tiebreakers. *at least 2 in regulation/OT (if we get two OT losses)...3 in regulation/OT if we get the 2 pts as a regulation/OT win.
  9. And/or the puck may have never completely crossed the line. Kopecky just said on the postgame that Hossa told him (during review) he didn't think it was a goal. My guess is his stick never touched it. It's what I thought the whole time, while it took "Edzo" 50 replays to realize it was kicked.
  10. That couldn't have been a more fortunate original, on-ice, goal call on Hossa's goal. Saved the season. Hockey Gods...thanks.
  11. So basically there was no way Illinois was going to allow him to play there next year, whether it was academic, behavioral, or both. So they let him make it look like he was "choosing" to go to the NBA draft (which he probably figured out during the season, or even before the season with the stupid advice he's getting). Then on top of it, he comes out with this s*** on his twitter? What a f***ing tool. They actually let him look good on the way out, and he responds like an idiot. And now his twitter is private or whatever because he must have realized what he put up there was foolish. Sorry, I'm not going to wish him good luck on the way out. The guy was a disgrace to the program. It will be nice not having this circus around next year, even if the team is in fact worse on the court. So Jereme, I hope you "happen to fail" you ass clown.
  12. Hickory would have put up a better fight.
  13. This is where the Butler male cheerleaders are thinking "come on, I could do better than this!"...and for the first time in history, they might be right. They should let "blue" take some shots.
  14. I heard that, I think it was Kemba who said it, though he wasn't the guy pushed down.
  15. I'm trying to figure out if this was Illinois putting up this exact Butler performance, would I be beyond the mad state at this point, and just be laughing?
  16. Alright I've always had a problem with this. Can someone explain to me what aerial coverage from a blimp accomplishes at games that are indoors? You can't see the field and/or fans like you can in some football or baseball stadiums. I mean I know it's a sponsor...but it's just so ridiculously stupid.
  17. I feel like I should be getting paid to watch this game.
  18. Yeah, though the Kentucky/UConn game had more talent on the floor, the play itself wasn't much better if at all.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Thanks for the kind words. In his defense, you can't read the Oakland series with the script gray Chicago.
  20. This year, I'd rather play the Wings, though I'm not saying we'd beat either. Canucks have played the best hockey the entire year, call them chokers or whatever you want, I don't care. Just because it's the Canucks doesn't mean "oh well they can't beat the Hawks" or that they'll in any way be afraid to face them. This Hawks team isn't nearly the same, either.
  21. Kane should stop chirping at bleeding/injured players...it's stupid.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) So I went to this. I was very disappointed. For a microbrew, they only had like 4 of their own beers and i'm pretty sure 3 of them were IPAs. I think they have like 9 of their own there now
  23. I wouldn't say railroaded into irrelevance, that's a bit much, but whatever. Also, you can't just discredit 05, as much as you'd like to. I hate that whole argument. Recruiting took a dip, which was the biggest problem, but now it's been corrected. Again, unless we have someone named Brad Stevens or Shaka Smart coming here (LOL), I'll keep em. This also isn't a "top" program, so not sure who you're looking to hire - or if you want Guenther making it.
  24. Grass is always greener on the other side, right? See, who the hell would we hire? No one better than Bruce is my guess. Who wants to come work for a departing AD, too? And then recruits could leave, assistants could leave, etc. No thanks.
