  1. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) Thats great and all, but they were also 7-6 in those games. That doesn't prove anything. Don't change your argument.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) This is the one thing I've always completely disagreed with you two about, I can't stand their show. YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!! YOU LOGGED IN FOR THAT??? THAT IS A STUPID POST!!! STOP BEING STUPID!!! NO I'M RIGHT AND YOUR OPINION IS WRONG!!!
  3. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) So fun radio is Bernstein yelling things like YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!! YOU CALLED FOR THAT??? THAT IS A STUPID STATEMENT!!! STOP BEING STUPID!!! NO I'M RIGHT AND YOUR OPINION IS WRONG!!! at a caller? Yes.
  4. That game had the most "what the f***?" shots from an opponent that I can remember. Fun win.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) The Hawks are middle of the pack and until their stars start playing like it (I'm staring you in the f***ing eye, Hossa and Kane and Keith and Seabrook) they aren't going to be any better. Fixed
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) Actually, this year's different. What happens if he comes out and there's a 6 month lockout? He doesn't practice or have access to training facilities until the lockout ends, then there's another month before he signs a contract...and there's no guarantee that there will even be a season next year. He could quite literally get more practice and playing time in the NCAA next year. He doesn't need more practice time. What is that going to get him? The #1 pick in the draft? Nothing to gain, lockout or not. And I doubt he's staying in because of the threat of a lockout. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Eh, it's not that bad of a decision for Luck. I'm fairly certain he comes from a well-off family and his dad played in the NFL, so 1) I'm sure he's not exactly hurting for money; and 2) if he's coming back, I'm sure his dad thinks it's a good idea as he played in the league himself and knows the pros/cons of coming out early. Furthermore, he'll finish up his degree from STANFORD, a premier institution. Even if he had some career-ending injury, I think he'll turn out fine. Sure, he won't have his $50M but I'm sure he can make a damn good life out of his situation. Also, you can be sure they'll take out a multi-million dollar insurance policy on him, so if he does have a serious injury, he'll still get a few million, which would set up most people pretty damn well. You can get that degree later. Logically, this whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense. Does he not want to play in the NFL?
  7. Because it's a huge risk. Nothing to gain. Also see Locker, Jake.
  8. Luck is staying at Stanford. What the f***? Terrible decision.
  9. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) What's wrong with simply disagreeing and moving on to the next caller? By keeping the caller on the line and insulting them like an 8 year old, you just prolong the conversation and give the caller even more time. Plus, if Bernstein didn't react that way I doubt he would have callers trolling the show for reactions. Because that's not fun radio. And when you come with steak dinner boom etc, you should get ripped. As he said, you are entitled to your opinion, but sometimes your opinion is wrong.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 11:23 PM) Why the hell did he just stop??? He wasn't even touched by an Ohio State player. Did they not learn from earlier when Ohio State got that fumble recovery TD?? In college you don't need to be touched by the opposition.
  11. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 09:57 AM) No, there never really is an argument when other person yells "Are you an idiot... are you stupid?" and things like that like Bernstein does to some of the callers of his show who happen to have an opinion different than his.. He yells those things at meatballs who come up with such things as "I wish the Bears were playing next week instead of having a bye" and other such nonsense. So, well deserved.
  12. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:56 AM) Stanford was up 7 at half. It was a bizarre game. Stanford led 21-3 and then got outscored 49-10. I absolutely think this supports a playoffs. Can you honestly tell me that you watched Stanford tonight and didn't think it would be cool to see this team play TCU or Auburn? I know they played and lost to Oregon and it was clear who deserved to be in the title game this year, but every year there are a few top teams that finish the year so strong. I want to see the hot teams play each other. No more questioning how good a team like Va. Tech actually was because they got killed. We already know Stanford is very legit and TCU is very legit. Let's see those teams play again against another hot team that's very legit. Frankly, given the popularity of playoffs in this country and in the rest of football I don't see how anyone can say a playoff wouldn't be infinitely better in every way possible. I want someone to argue that the NFL should get rid of the playoffs and just vote for the Super Bowl contenders. Having no playoff in college football sounds as dumb. I remembered that wrong, I just remember Oregon trailing early and then dominating the rest of the game. Anyway, I am in favor of a playoff as well, but like you said, Oregon beat Stanford, so it was basically a playoff game. I'm just saying it wasn't the best example of a game to prove it - the TCU/Wisconsin game was. However if you are going to do it you have to do it right - do you have a 4 team playoff? 8? Anything above 8 is probably too much. If it's 8, what I don't think should happen is the 6 BCS conference champs and 2 at larges - it should just be the top 8 teams regardless. There are so many years where a conference deserves 2 or 3 bids, and with only 2 at large spots available, it becomes an issue. Winning your conference shouldn't get you in automatically. I think it could eventually happen, I'm just worried about the formatting they'll come up with if they finally get it done.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 08:17 AM) Big game-winner for Toews. I can't even stay up past 10 PM anymore, so I missed it. Now that they are healthy again for the most part, need to get some points on this homestand. You didn't miss much as far as the game winner was concerned...Doughty threw it in his own net off Toews' skate.
  14. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) I wonder if Dan Bernstein ever physically got his ass kicked for mouthing off to people. He can't be that much of an ass in person. If he was, I'd guess that he's been in a lot of fights. That's when you know you've won the argument, when the other side resorts to violence. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) Laurence Holmes tries to be Dan Berstein light. He's probably been punched in the face too. Laurence "Larry" Holmes is awesome. And he's actually not that close to Bernstein on air.
  15. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) Maybe the Saints should've won their division. Maybe the Saints should play in the NFC West? Come on, really?
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 10:44 PM) This Stanford team was a reason why I support a playoff. They killed Oregon for one half in Oregon and than got tired and routed in the 2nd half by Oregon. Only loss in the season. Wisconsin was another reason, but they lost. Whoa. Oregon was leading that game at halftime. Stanford had a lead after one quarter. If a team is too tired to play after the 1st quarter and that's the reason they lost, they aren't very good. They looked good early and then couldn't stop Oregon the rest of the game. There was no killing. You can support a playoff, but I'm not sure this is the game that quite does it.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) #1 Goal - Beat the Packers See that's where Lovie misses the boat: #1 (and only) goal: Win the Super Bowl. Still can't believe he was that risky yesterday. He was just asking for a Cutler/Peppers/Urlacher injury in a game that meant absolutely NOTHING.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 09:29 AM) If the playoffs started today the Hawks would be two points out of going, sitting in the 11th seed. They also have played more games than the teams sitting in the 6th to 10th slots. This team needs to forget about repeating, and start working on not getting left out. At which point they will be the "team that no one wants to play"
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 04:25 AM) This was a game I expected Wisconsin to lose, so I was glad that at certain points they actually could have made a run if they had hit some of their shots. I expect Wisconsin to win at Madison, but Illinois has given them the most trouble at the Kohl Center. Yeah, it was a game you could have won going in, but really not disappointed if you lose. I'll have the same attitude at the Kohl Center, I don't expect to win. That's why we had to get the home W (and I was a little more worried since it was a "break" game and we had 9 year olds and grandmas surrounding the floor - not exactly loud or intimidating). Then try to steal some road wins against tougher competition, always tough in the Big Ten.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Hawks desperately need to add a defenseman. Hendry and Cullimore on the ice together = ANA goal. The 2nd goal was Keith and Seabrook getting beat, so there's no easy solution. Seabrook especially looked bad in his own zone. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) That save when Stalberg had the open net and Bolland tipped it was ridiculous. Just when it seems like the Hawks have it figured out, bam, a 3-game losing streak. That puck was going wide once Bolland tipped it. Bolland saved the game for the Ducks. Oops. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) Quennville had a poor coaching game overall. Stalberg-Dowell-Skille line was good the whole night and you take out Dowell in the 3rd? (though Stalberg and Skille are always good together when they are paired up) Damn.. Hawks are now 0-2 without Toews. (though you could say 0-3 cause Toews got injured when the Hawks were winning 1-0 in that game vs St. Louis before losing the game) Johnson played fine in that slot instead of Dowell. No big loss. Also, Kane was useless tonight. If he's still hurt, he shouldn't be playing, because him at whatever % that is actually hurts the team and it's more of a risk to injure it further.
  21. Beat me to it Justin. And we only made 6 threes in this one. All Wisky did was chuck up threes (yes a decent amount were open), which I really don't understand since our interior defense is usually very suspect, and you can foul Tisdale out pretty easily. Wisconsin didn't turn the ball over though, which kept them in the game even with our good shooting, especially in the first half.
  22. Playing the starters the whole game in a completely meaningless game = as stupid a football move as I've seen in a while. If that was anyone but the Packers, I bet they wouldn't have played more than a half. So stupid.
  23. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) Dear Ed Hightower, Stop thinking that everyone wants to watch you. All you do is whistle, wait several seconds so you know everyone's attention is focused on you, and then make extremely over-exuberant movements. It's really annoying. That's also disregarding the fact that you typically make terrible calls. Sincerely, Angrier Man We had him Wednesday for the game against Michigan and he did the same thing. Wait forever, then make very demonstrative motions for something as simple as a ball out of bounds. Though my personal favorite is sometimes when there is a foul in the paint, he will walk up to the person the foul is on, point him out to all, then walk to the scorer's table to report it. Every year it's the same song and dance. Fun times.
  24. I think I've had all the top 10 (and enjoy almost all of them but Guinness), but I need to work on 10-30.
