Dasox I agree with you...I am looking forward to getting a list of more common beers that I can find in Chicago. I want to try new stuff based on some recs here, but not stuff that I can't find.

That's not quite accurate this week. We punted, and we held them, it worked, and it wouldn't have sealed the game with a 1st down anyway. We got the ball back anyway at basically the same spot and didn't do s*** with it. Defense blew. -

Biggest half of the season. Drop this, I think we'll drop the next two, no bowl, complete waste of a season, interesting off season Wake the f*** up, it's Minnesota. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Indiana's upcoming recruiting classes are shaping up to be the cream of the Big 10, and you can't underestimate the impact Zeller's commitment is going to have on players like Yogi. No offense jenks, but I find this ironic coming from an Illini fan who belongs to a fanbase that compares Jereme Richmond to Magic Johnson and M. Leonard to Dwight Howard. Give me a break...Howard couldn't hold Leonard's jock. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) This should end the Hawkins era at Colorado. Kansas down 45-17 scores 35 straight points in 11 minutes to take a 52-45 lead. Colorado then comes back in the final minute to get into the KU redzone before getting stopped. What a crazy day in football. 130+ points in Michigan, Duke-Viginia had 103 points scored and this game almost hit triple digits. And it did. "IT'S DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!!!" -

Seems like everyone is talking about Boise St but no one (relatively) is talking about TCU...the Boise St title dream likely ends if TCU beats Utah tomorrow. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) Let me know what kind of infractions we had under Alford? People can talk about the Pierce incident and debate whether he deserved a second chance or not, but Iowa had zero recruiting violations that I am aware of. Just cause you don't like the guy or something doesn't in any sense shape or form make the program dirty. I think having a coach fight tooth and nail to have a convicted rapist on your team is dirty and slimy, but that's just me. ************** Iowa basketball is about as irrelevant as it can be right now, I don't know why anyone would care about this whole "recruiting violation" thing anyway. No Iowa fans I'm friends with care at all about the basketball program anymore. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) I don't see how it's his fault the student died.... he chose to practice in the wind, I'm sure a lot of coaches would have done the same thing... whoever constructed the tower that fell over or whoever conducts the safety inspections are the one to blame. What? If the wind was blowing 600 mph, would you be saying the same thing? From all accounts, it wasn't a technical problem. It was a common sense one. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) I don't understand this logic at all. You need a two either way so what's the difference? If you don't get it, you're down an extra score no matter when you go for it. The risk of needing the ball an extra time is missing the two. It doesn't matter when you miss it. Like I said before, you want to know what you need ASAP. If you get the two, it's obviously just a 7 point game. If you miss it, you still have 6 minutes to get two scores. You know you can't spend the whole clock on one drive. If you go for it down 9 and miss it, you know you need to play for 2 scores. If you don't go for it and don't get the 2 the next time, the game is pretty much over. It's not that you want to know what you need right away...it's that you need the opponent to play it like it's a one possession game. You don't go for the 2 until you absolutely have to, and most teams do this. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Penn State is now the 2nd worse team and the Illini are starting to prove themselves. They got a nice defense, suspected offense, but with there schedule they are prime to make a bowl and have a quality season. I think they are right there with NU, Purdue, and Michigan. MSU, Wiscy, Iowa, OSU are all better. So that gives the Illini the shot at being the 5th best team in the conference. Note: I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong Hey, I have to call you out when we are actually not complete horses***. PS: Spike the ball -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) I love watching Illinois play defense. The dline has been dominant and they have playmakers at all 3 levels of the defense. If Liuget and Martez Wilson come back next year Illinois will have a chance to have a really special season (in part due to a schedule that sets up perfectly for a great season, weak non-conference schedule plus not playing Iowa, MSU or Nebraska). We're the 2nd worst team in the big ten according to Jason, don't get too excited. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 11:51 PM) Illinois is not better than Nothwestern. I did state that I thought Illinois could pass OSU and I still think PSU is better, they are just hindered by there freshman QB. We're kind of hindered by a freshman QB, too... Either way, he's still part of their team. BTW what has NW done to impress you? I think our game will be close either way. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 03:39 AM) Minnesota is the only true POS team in the conference right now with Illinois being the 2nd worse team in the conference I'm not letting this slide. s*** I mean I know we aren't great or anything, but we're the 2nd worst team in the conference? Penn St (beat them on the road), Indiana (beat nobody, rolled by OSU when we weren't), Northwestern (should have lost to Minnesota)? Cmon Jason. -
I'm laughing hysterically, that's for sure. She's a clown.

90/94 east was completely blocked right at Washington for at least the last 45 minutes. Absolutely no one was allowed through, then all of the sudden about 30-40 cop cars/motorcycles/ATVs jump on the highway at Madison and lead a bunch of black cars through, followed by 10 more cop cars. Was all of this for Biden? You would have thought it was Jesus.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) Michigan will beat Penn St, Purdue, and maybe Illinois. They might steal a game vs OSU, Wisc, MSU, or Iowa. So yeah thats 8-10 wins, probably 9ish. I still don't think they're as good as the media and people are making them out to be, but they're also not the fraud I made them out to be. Fixed. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) That guy? I guess you mean me... Well, I think it's documented in previous posts that I do know the history since I grew up a huge Illinois fan (I probably know more about that football/basketball programs than most around here, including yourself). Quite honestly, all of my 7 uncles never let an opportunity pass to talk s*** about Bruce Pearl to me and how he majorly set-back the Illinois program that was on the verge of becoming great. Furthermore, a lot of Tennessee fans do know about the Pearl-Illinois thing - at least all of my friends do and many others I've talked to. And while I admit that Pearl is sleazy (I've never argued against it), he's also my coach. So, yeah, I support him. Plus, he just wins. Actually, since Pearl was hired at UT, they've been a more successful basketball team than Illinois. Considering UT is a football school that has never really had an continued success in basketball, that's even more impressive. Anyway, I got off-track there a bit... So, I stand by my original point in that I think the kid who likely turned us in to the NCAA is a b**** if he really did it. What Pearl did to Illinois 20 years ago was also a b**** move. Still, if Craft went to the NCAA about an illegal visit to Pearl's house (and I still think it looks pretty likely he was involved), it was incredibly immature and unnecessary. I can't even begin to list all the illegal recruiting that goes on at every school when they have recruits visit. And when a kid finally signs with a school, he doesn't rat out other schools that recruited him. You just don't do that. You are setting an awfully interesting standard here. It seems there is no line that can be crossed since he's "your coach." What if he paid every recruit a million dollars, or something even more ridiculous? I mean, he's your coach, after all. There's nothing wrong with rooting for your team/school/program and not being supportive of the head coach. -

I like how Dooley threw off his headset and tried to leave the field without shaking hands. Then in his conference tries to blame the officials for his team trying to play with not one but TWO extra guys. And yes, there was plenty of time to get the right personnel on and off the field (why are you changing personnel on the goal line?), that play wasn't really rushed, so it wasn't anyone's fault but the coaching staff. Stay classy, Dooley.
