  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) Their comment was legitimate. Farve drew a guy offside and then took a shot downfield. Itd be one thing if they started talking about how great Farve was for getting to that snap and picking it up like a veteran. There's been no less than 5 "shut the f*** up already!" Favre comments in the first quarter. Including calling him a "warrior" before the first snap of the game.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Chris Chelios was the face of the franchise for a decade, played through every injury, and won two Norris Trophies. He spent his prime on a team that traded off all of his teammates and phenomenal players such as Jeremy Roenick and Ed Belfour to name just a couple. The Blackhawks completely stopped trying in the late 90s and THEY gave up on him predicting he was nearing the end of his rope. Chelios requested a trade to a contender, and the Blackhawks presented him with the option of the Detroit trade, which I'm sure was a difficult choice. He won Cups in Montreal and Detroit, and the only stop he couldn't was his hometown Chicago because ownership sucked big time and basically gave up for the 2nd half of his tenure with the Hawks. Yeah, let's boo the guy for being the best defenseman in the NHL for the better part of a decade on our roster and watching management completely destroy the roster around him. Anyone who booed Chelly last night is an idiot. Well you couldn't be more wrong. Booing him is completely justified by anyone who chooses to do so, and that includes Friday. He said he'd never play there, he demanded a trade. Over the years, maybe you could get over that. But you can never change this, and that's what ended it for many people:
  3. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) It doesn't make any sense. You would be giving up fair ground to cover area where the batter is not attempting to hit the ball. You are correct. You will factor in the outfield walls, but the amount of foul ground doesn't matter. You prepare for balls that will be put in play between the lines.
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 05:24 AM) Right, but like I said you had to be thinking that before Saturday's game anyway. It's a terrifying loss, but it shouldn't drastically change the perception of the team. This is not a top 15 team in the country. Their only good win is North Carolina and I don't know how good that is. Gonzaga. They've actually looked pretty good this year. They aren't a perfect team, definitely have some weaknesses, but they could be a top 15 team when you look at the rest of the college basketball landscape.

    QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) Who the hell would give you a degree? Now this is ironic.

    Guy's Thread

    Honestly I almost kind of prefer the short urinal. I like being able to pee more downward than I can with the other ones, less chance of it getting on me. Also, I hate when you run into a place where they were mounted too high on the wall and you have to almost tip toe to get up there and make sure no clothing or anything hits the urinal. I'm 5'9" so no I'm not short by any means. Who the f*** are the urinals for, 7 footers?
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 06:58 AM) The big misses were Julian Wright, Jon Scheyer and Shannon over Weber's time. All three smart kids from non-CPS schools whose recruitment were legit. Jon Scheyer wasn't really a miss considering there was no chance he was going anywhere other than Duke.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Enjoy it all you can til Monday. Seriously, soak it all in while you can
  9. SnB and I don't eat at Applebees due to their annoying advertising during the 2005 NCAA tournament.
  10. Count me in for Bud Light Lime, too
  11. QUOTE (SnB @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) This. 5 years after college, I would bet that almost everyone is somewhere they didn't expect. Myself included. You don't have to have your life figured out by the time you're 22. You need to check your birth date/graduation date
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) The difference in balls(hehe) makes a HUGE difference. That's absurd that none of the officials noticed that. It's more ridiculous that when told about it, they didn't believe it. I mean I'm pretty sure players don't say those things to refs very often, trying to be funny or something or explaining their poor shooting. Guys who play with that basketball every single day of the week can notice a difference in a second, not sure why you would not check it out. So weird all around. I'm now trying to imagine a Sox game using a little league ball, or a rubber coated one.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) I found out I might have a training to attend for work in Chicago. If I do, I'm in. Party cancelled. On second thought, let me know, I'll bring Ashley, and you two can talk Iowa basketball.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 04:32 AM) I AA. There is a big difference. Ahem, FCS. LOL
  15. Who is the only hockey player to score a goal in all five game situations in one game (even strength, power play, shorthanded, penalty shot, and empty net)?
  16. I'm clearly not normally a "b**** about the refs/umps guy"...but come on. That last drive was laughable at best. Had we showed up for the 1st half, however, it probably wouldn't have mattered.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) LOVE ME SOME ADAM DUNN
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) So my Saturday night consisted of going out to eat at the Olive Garden, going to see a movie and buying myself a 6 pack of good beer to go home and drink. I think this officially makes me old. You're on the right track, but not quite there
  19. Wow. Still can't believe that happened. Holy s***. Next time they'll let Kellen Moore kick it in OT. Off the hook = Nevada's secondary on the hail mary, offensive clock management on the last drive.
  20. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) I went and looked at Final Four appearances over the last ten years and the big ten finishes third among conferences. I'll admit they have done better than I thought but the ACC has by far been the best conference. Every year I do hear people claiming it is the year the Big 10 will win the ACC/Big 10 challenge and they have only won it once. It is not you guys either, usually on here everyone is very knowledgeable outside of a few Illinois fans that just feel Kev and I are out to bring them down for whatever reason. I certainly don't cheer for Illinois and granted I enjoy seeing them lose, but I really don't care what they do. I'm much more concerned with MVC teams. Not really sure where you pull all this stuff from. You admit most here are pretty knowledgeable and don't make crazy claims about the Big Ten. Have the experts recently? Not from what I can remember. So are you going to message boards of teams, taking the proverbial kool aid guy for the big ten, and using that as your means to make a judgment on what "everyone" thinks? Anyone here can post "every year I hear (fill in the blank)" but that doesn't really prove much in your argument. You can find anything you want on the internet, really. Heck I would laugh at the Big Ten ACC challenge every time it came up, knowing we'd lose. Minus last year and this year, ACC was usually significantly superior going in, and ended up winning it to prove it.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) That simply isn't true. Weber has had one team underperform at Illinois and that was last year. They were a 5 seed two years ago with Meacham and Frazier starting. His first 3 years at Illinois he had top 5 seeds as well. When he has talent he has won big. Illinois lack of results the last few years is directly related to poor recruiting which has now been rectified. He has no idea what he's talking about, he's an ISU guy who just wants to bash Illinois and the Big Ten. Clearly anyone that has paid attention to college basketball the past several seasons knows essentially no one was calling the Big Ten the best conference in the country, or close to it.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Chalk the Minnesota loss to the hangover effect from the tough loss at Michigan. Might even compare it to Va Tech's loss to James Madison after dropping a tough Monday night game against Boise. I expect Illinois to bounce back this week. Sorry, you're a 21 point favorite. I'm not chalking losing up to the hangover effect. It's f***ing Minnesota. Maybe they were down for the first half, but the offense was awesome in the 2nd half, and when the chips were down, the defense couldn't get the job done. I'm not making excuses for them, they just blew it. They didn't make plays when they needed to be made, that's all there is to it.
