Skip Prosser, WF head coach

Wow what a shock... RIP coach Prosser -
Someone should duct tape Hawk's mouth shut that week. You'll learn so much about baseball and the Sox if he let's Stone talk a ton.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Paperboy was another game that I loved to play. Who knew throwing papers could be so much fun. Random obstacle courses at the end was sweet.

Wonder what the delivery time will be...the 6 seconds he takes between pitches?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 12:27 AM) He seems to be bad at anything that involves competition. Woooooowwwwww

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 12:14 AM) lol after a while we did ban the wrap around, so I ended up just using angle shots and 1 timers. Every goal on NHL 94 seemed to be a glitch, that was the fun of it. I have NHL 96 on that same Sega I mentioned I have WS Baseball 96, it's a lot of fun. OK good at least you realized it was retarded. The wraparound was essentially a goal 100% of the time, the other ways aren't even close and games are much lower scoring if you ban it. I miss head to head play on that thing. PS: SnB is brutal at that game.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) NHL 94 baby. The wrap around move with Jeremy Roenick combined with Eddie the Eagle between the pipes= I was unbeatable. Castlevania was also money (especially 1 and 3 for NES), Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 for SNES (3 SUCKED though), and in terms of at the arcade, I was unstoppable on any form of Tekken (King FTW!!), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, NBA Jam, and The Simpsons. And amen on hockey and soccer video games Rowand, as well as Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for Super NES. And of course, any Super Mario Bros. for NES and/or SNES. Anyone who uses the wraparound in 94 is a cheap son of a b****. It's a complete glitch...that game was on NHL 06 (for PS2 at least) and we played it a ton...if you don't allow that cheap bulls*** the games are actually fun and intense instead of a retard-fest. BTW, I'll beat you at that game anywhere, anytime.

Scouts have been looking at Contreras for over a month, one bad or good start tonight won't really change his value...some team will either want to acquire him for what they think they can do or they won't. Same with Dye, he can go 0-4 or 4-4 with a HR and it's not going to change much in the scouts' eyes.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 01:45 AM) The only reason I watch is to see Jim "choke breath" Thome fail in every clutch situation because he's overpaid and his face is stupid. You never fail to get this out of me -

Minor League 1B Coach killed by line drive
IlliniKrush replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
Which begs the question, how long until pitchers wear helmets (or for that matter, a mask or something)? Starting last year in HS you could actually wear head and/or face protection on defense. I haven't seen anyone do it, but it's in the rules now. I've seen a few 3B in girls softball wear a type of mask thingy (it's not quite a catcher's mask, it isn't quite as bulky and it's easier to see out of) because they are ridiculously close to the batter when they play in a little bit. Edit: Following up on this...I don't think it will be many more years until college/hs/little league start using wood bats. -
White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/24/07 (DH)Game 2(W)

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) Andrew Miller might have nintendo stuff and all. But one point I would like to say, is to take a gander at his motion. He throws across his body in a violent manner. There was this texan who struck out 20 on the northside that used to do that same type of thing. He may be healthy forever. But that motion would scare the hell out of me for the long run. I noticed this too...the only thing that might 'save' him is the fact that he comes basically 3/4 (or lower) on the arm angle. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) Before I do 15 minutes worth of research to prove you wrong - since you are wrong - I'll just say that last season Thome had 20 go ahead hits in 143 games while Konerko had 22 in 152 games. Aaron Rowand has had 13 over his past 207 games. Yeah, but RBI in the 2nd and 3rd innings only count for half a run on the scoreboard or something apparently. BRING BACK THE FIRE AND THE PASSION -

QUOTE(GoGoWhiteSox! @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Just to throw this out there; Aaron Rowand's stats tonight: 3 for 4 with 3 runs and 1HR. He is now batting .330 / 15HR /55RBI. IMO I would rather have Rowand than the big dumb Hillbilly Jim Thome. Thome is useless, unless you need a guy who can get you 30HR a year all coming in the 2nd or 3rd inning. Stick to calling The Score. BTW, what did you say Colorado Sox Fan? -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) Not a good way to finish, Gavin. Some bad breaks tonight, but overall a dissapointing start. Can't wait for the next doubleheader...or worse yet, if he's the replacement for [traded starter] -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) He still owes us a run. I remember this from last year, he would butcher a play in CF, that would lead to a huge inning. Then he would come up and hit a solo homer. Nice hit mack, catch the f***ing ball. As far as last year in CF, put the blame where it should go. Now onto Mack...no excuse for the play in right tonight. -
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 10:41 PM) It's pretty easy to see where the ball crosses the plate while keeping your eye on the batter. Plus things like batter/crowd/coach reaction, and he will almost always say, "let's see that again!" to confirm the call was indeed missed. Are you f***ing serious with this?

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Meh, call me when they hit up Hilton for #1 Kansas at #2 Iowa State in three years. Do they have phones in Iowa?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) I HATE THAT COMMERCIAL. The Leinart one is worse. He scrambled like 50 yards on the last play of the game and couldn't be caught by anyone in Texas' secondary. Right.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) Of course you are, you live to argue about everything and then cry about the whole world being against you... And you fail to defend him with any logic, per usual. Last night was a f***ing embarrasment between the shift and leaving Contreras out there Pedro style, the end. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 11:58 PM) I am in/was in a very similar situation, but kinda still stuck. My internet was out for a few days, had a really nice contractor come out, tell me a whole new line had to be put it, because it was installed wrong to begin with, and that every other time I have had a problem, it has just been band-aided by lazy techs. A day later, the internet came back on without any fix, yet this guy told me I need a whole new setup. So do I still have the same lousy setup? I am just waiting for it to go back out... Yeah, we had that for a while, someone said it was fixed, days later it wasn't. One of their "head" guys came out and figured out the problem in 5 minutes, and we've been fine internet-wise ever since. What are they paying these tech guys for if they don't even try to explore all avenues? They just waste more time and more manpower when they don't try to fix it the first time, and it's not like we paid for any of the visits since the problem was on their end. Steve you should just call and b**** more, they weren't very hard to get free service out of for months at a time
