  1. Alright here's a true story from one of my friends. His sister is house sitting/dog sitting for this family while they are on vacation. Before the family leaves, they tell this girl (who's 16) that the dog is very sick and could actually die while they are gone. A few days into the vacation, the dog dies. This girl doesn't really know what to do...so she figures she'll take it to the vet or what not. Well this dog is gigantic, and this girl is pretty small - she can't carry it into the car. She decides to put the dog into a large suitcase to try to drag that to the car. She puts the dog in there, and starts to get it to the car. As she's struggling to get this thing up into a car, a person walking by says "Hey, do you need some help with that?" She says "sure." The guy walking by picks up the suitcase........and runs away with it, thinking he's getting off with some sweet stuff. She didn't yell at him or chase him or anything, because, well, there was a dead dog in there. Talk about sweet justice. Have fun with your dead dog, prick. Also, wouldn't you think the guy would kind of question why the hell she didn't scream or chase after him or anything? I think watching him lug this thing down the street would have been hilarious.
  2. Head first is more dangerous, but you get to the bag quicker. On straight steals of 2nd, that extra time was huge. Also, you are better able to slide to the outside of the bag going head first.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) The carry the gloves so they'll hold on to them while attempting head first slides. It reduces chances of breaking fingers. Correct. I did this all through high school to prevent jamming a finger (i slid headfirst into 2nd on steals) and to reduce possible spikings.
  4. Maybe he can help get them out of the first round.

    Horrible News

Yikes, i am sorry to hear that. And you are right, it does make you think about waking up in the morning to have just another day.
  9. My stance: No wearing of sox gear that isn't a team color. Actually, this goes for every team. An exception could be if it was something they wore in a game, like a green jersey or whatever. Pink sox hats are a joke.

    Bath towels

I'll go about a week with 2 towels going. I think people who use a new towel after every shower are ridiculous.

  12. I like watching the players warm up between innings, especially pitchers. I also like to observe the umpires throughout the game, especially the plate umpire (i'm an umpire).

  14. The important question in all this is did Joan Cusack receive a ring?

  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 12:15 PM) BMAC #55 Mike, just ordered a gray Bmac from grandstand while i was up there this week
  19. There was a ton of organ music the past two games, and i loved it. It's going to be tough going to a game where the majority of the music is not organ music. I could tell the organ was a bit different, as well, just didn't know what was up. It sounded pretty damn good.
  20. Frozen Four begins today: Boston College vs North Dakota 2:00 Maine vs Wisconsin 7:00 Both games on ESPN2 Championship game is Saturday at 6:00 on ESPN
  21. SnB and i got off the train at 11:00 (wanted to be there earlier, but missed the train we wanted to be on) and started hustling around the park, looking for the shortest line. We got in line at gate 3 by about 11:10. We were all the way in the back, but we still got a ring and it looked like a decent amount were left, as well. By the time we got in, the line was as long as when we first started. Our plan for tomorrow is to get to the park by about 10:30 and get in a line. It shouldn't be as bad tomorrow, i don't believe...it's not a sellout, correct?
  22. I'll listen to this on the way up to Chicago tonight.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) Im sure Steve hated me by the end of the night, but I felt I needed to give him updates from time to time.... :rolly At one point we had 4 of us on phones with family and friends, trying to figure out what was going on with the game and then later the rain delay. Felt like we were living in a cave except with cell phones. We probly made 50 calls between us in a few hours getting updates, checking places to see if they had the game, etc. Ugh. At least we saw from the post rain delay on.
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) Listening to Carmen and Silvy today, Comcast defenitly heard some pissed off people. Alot of the show they were talking about how bad the camera work was and how they seemed suprised about everything that was happening. Once again, I am really sorry to those who watched that, because the Sox put on a great show. Between comcast sucking and insight communications losing espn2 after the 2nd batter (and it was still out as of 9:00 this morning, who knows if it's even back yet), us champaign-ers had a lot to be pissed off about.
