Am i the only one that thinks Alex Smith won't be worth the #1 overall pick? I don't think he'll be a complete bust, but i don't think he'll have that great of an NFL career.

Once Peter gets ownership of this team, i think you'll see home games on TV for sure. Until then, same old same old. They did say Home playoff games would be on TV. It's better than nothing, i guess.

I don't care who you are - If you don't have capable line mates, you won't accomplish much of anything on your own. Trust me on this one.

This article is correct in that most people can't recognize a balk, and when it's called, just react either super happy or super pissed based on what team it's called on. Being an umpire, i usually see em, even on TV. Thing is, there are so many different ways of balking, most fans don't know what the hell the pitcher did wrong. There are such subtle balks that you'd have trouble seeing them even if you were paying pretty good attention. McCarthy's balk against KC this year? Very subtle, but clearly a balk. And probably 99.5% of the people at the park didn't see it.

I watched the press conference as well. Looks almost all the 300 level will be pretty cheap, which is a good thing. We all knew home games still wouldn't be on TV. I like how they guaranteed playoff games would be on TV. No "if we make the playoffs" or anything. The more i hear Tallon talk, the more i think we aren't going to retain Thibault.

So i have to ump a double header tomorrow (no shorts or anything...full regular umpire gear and pants behind the plate). Forecast around here is calling for 98 degrees, head index of 104. Ridiculous. I may melt. Tex, is this what Texas feels like?

Someone's really going to be lucky today...because Sidney Crosby will singlehandly turn their franchise around. I can't even fathom the Hawks winning it...it'd be unbelievable. I'd have a Crosby jersey in red, white, and black within a week, once i find out what number he'd be using. For the few of us Hawks fans left, this is a big day. On top of that, the next 11 or so weeks before the season starts is absolutely huge. Hawks have a chance to really put together a solid team and attempt to win some fans back. They have as fair a shot as every other team to sign free agents and put this organization back on the Chicago map. Also, Keith...the way i'm seeing the draft, if we don't win it, i want us to be in the top 5. The top 5 guys are supposedly a touch above the rest of the draft. I just hope we aren't super unlucky and get picked 17th or some lame ass s***. This will be interesting to watch at 2:00...though the draft lottery won't be unveiled til 3:00, i think.

The thing i'm trying to figure out is what percentage of these red sox fans are fairweather? How many are just die hards that have ended up in Chicago, or traveled out for the weekend? If they are die hards and are annoying, it sucks...but if they are typical fair weather pieces of crap, then it's 100 times worse. I really don't have a clue on the percentages though.

On BBTN Gammons reported that the Sox are interested in Jeff Weaver. Just reporting what i saw, take it for what's it's worth. Just another name into the mix for the time being.

The wave is for amateurs. I despise the wave. Don't even get me started. Also, i guess when the wave starts up they put a video on the screen almost promoting the wave. I haven't seen it, but my mom was at a recent game and said she saw it. If this is true, shame on the Sox. That's pathetic. Watch the f***ing game. It's not a circus.
