  1. Damn addison, you've wet my appetite for college football to start even more. At least it's a little less than 284 days away...
  2. I'm seeing an addy/steve/kenny football watching experience in the future. Probly not at Steve's place though, lol.
  3. It is the best, Addy. Apartments are awesome, and it's even better when you have a roommate that does nothing but watch sports also. Compromising with the TV just doesn't exist in my world.
  4. That would be pretty cool God, i just want college football to start. All day saturday, just lay there in front of 2 tv's and watch games all morning, day, and night. I just love it.
  5. Just a little early, yes. It's cool that you are so into it though, i like it. Do you love college football too? Or just the draft? I cannot wait til this season starts...i absolutely love college football. I've been reading some preview magazines already. Saturday's in the fall are just awesome.
  6. Okay, i just thought of this...(if this happens) good move by the NHL to announce it today. Nothing going on in the sports world. Only day in the year that it is so (i consider the HR derby enough to fill monday). Maybe it will get more than 2 mins on SC, etc. And though the NHL has hurt me a lot, i'll be coming right back because i'm just too big of a fan. Hockey's in my blood, i just love the game. I may not go to as many games (though ticket prices are hopefully down), but i'll be following just the same. I'm a rarity, probably. But i cannot at all fault those of you who may not be into it as much after this lockout.
  7. There needs to be a help line for you Addy...LOL
  8. If NYR "win" the lottery, then the NHL sucks. I realize what they are trying to do, but they are comprimising the integrity of the game.

    Helllpppp!!!

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) soxtalk is awesome. Yup...what have i always told you...when you don't know something, "soxtalk it." With such a diverse group of people, someone's going to know the answer or have the right advice.
  10. It's a legend that will never die. All i can hope is that the "Security" bit is remembered more than other things that night/entire next day (steff better also...)
  11. From what i read/heard somewhere, everyone will have an equal shot at Crosby. I guess the rich teams got the league to agree to this because those teams were pissed about having to deal with such a low salary cap. Those owners were going to make sure they got something out of this deal, i guess. Regardless, an equal shot for everyone is complete and utter bulls***.
  12. I started a dynasty with Illinois, and i'm currently 4-0. Pierre Thomas is leading the Heisman race...mainly due to 8 touchdowns against San Jose St. I've lit up the scoreboard so far, even against Cal and MSU. As far as celebrations go...i was able to get 5'10" EB Halsey to dunke one over the cross bar...LMAO. The completion percentage rate against me is very high right now, and i give up a lot of passing yards, even if i am in pass defense all game. The one thing that hasn't changed (at least on AA level) is that the computer can pass on you, but they sure as hell can't run. I like the in season recruiting. One question...when/how do you schedule the visits? Maybe i can't do it til later in the year, or maybe i'm just missing something right now. I'm also way too lazy to read the manual. I screwed around with race for the heisman a bit, seems pretty cool, although like Steve said, getting handed a starting job is kinda lame. I was a RB and was accepted at USC and got a starting job over like 4 guys who were better than me. Eh. The gameplay is faster, smoother, all that jazz...it's more fun to play than last year's. Doesn't seem as slow, choppy, less load time, etc. I also changed the controls back to 2005 version. A few differences, and i felt more comfortable with it. I like how that was an option for the controller settings and i didn't have to change each one. So far, so good... Also, Keith...Steve has a sharkport, and will get me the rosters next saturday before we go to the game, hopefully.
  13. I think for the most part if you are a Sox fan you'll love Hawk, but i'd find it impossible to like Hawk if i was a fan of another team. He's just part of white sox baseball. Sure, he's a huge homer sometimes, but i'm just so used to white sox baseball with him that i couldn't imagine it without him. Hell, i use Hawkisms in every day life without even thinking about it. Like someone said earlier, just take some things with a grain of salt. And if nothing else, just wait for DJ to say "just don't strap it on" again. Am i the only one that can't get that out of my head? Probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard on air.
  14. I may or may not get in on this club, but just to add to the discussion... If you guys are looking for a baseball related book for one of the months and the Bissinger one doesn't work out, i'm currently reading "Baseball and Philosophy"...edited by Eric Bronson (multiple authors). I like it so far, and i think it's a good read for knowledgeable baseball fans. I don't know, some people may find it stupid, but i find some of the issues fascinating. Or hell, maybe i'm just way behind on reading and everyone has already read this one for all i know. Anyway, just a mention of a book from me.
  15. I'll be picking up this game this morning. Summer boredom no more. Thoughts, comments, game stories...let's hear 'em.

    Legal?

I haven't driven in the city yet, but i heard Friday that cops were just all over the place issuing tickets for using your cell phone without a headset.
  17. I'll be out tomorrow morning at around 9am to get a copy
  18. You have to start somewhere. Yawney is a good hire. Just took the Hawks too damn long. All great coaches start off somewhere. Hiring a Mikita or Hull or any of those guys would just be worthless. He's the right guy for this club. It's similar to Ozzie being hired, just not as big.
  19. Finally they got a new scoreboard. Hell, i've only been there for 2 games (both vs illinois), and i can't stand those scoreboards. No information on them whatsoever as far as fouls and points go, except for the line on the bottom. I love Illinois' new scoreboard, it's amazing.
  20. I'll be down there, if this rain ever stops...

  22. Certainly good news Keith. I'm really interested to see what they do with this draft. If they do some sort of weighted draft based on the past few years, the Hawks will have a good chance at Crosby. If they do some lame ass even (or almost even) lottery or something, i won't like it one bit. This will be an intense few months before the season starts, that's for sure. Kap, what's the latest?
