    Moving to US

    You must bring Sidney Crosby with you.
  3. What Buerhle>Wood said is basically correct, along with white sox fan 99. BTW, i do care about Rush, it would have been clutch if he came here...oh well. In addition to helping us win games, hopefully Dee can be the face of this team for another year and help it with recruiting as well
  4. Because he has a ton of potential...he could be a pretty damn good QB from what i've seen (only a little) and heard/read (a lot)
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) I have said for a while, if I could change one thing about hockey it would be the way that wins losses and ties are tallied for points. Right now there isn't much incentive to play aggressively in OT. If you went to a soccer style scoring system where wins were 3 pts, OT wins were 3 points, and OT losses were 1 point, along with ties being 1 points, you would see much more aggressive play in tie games for the last of the game and into OT. It wouldn't be this skating for one point crap. There would be incentive to win, and you wouldn't lose anything if you lost or tied. I would have no problem with that. It's a bit more open in OT because you can't lose your point, however...so OT has been better. But it's the third period where no one does anything if it's tied.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Umping, I'm sure, doesn't hurt when explaining the rules.. Yeah it helps a bit
  7. QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) The first error - a throw to 2nd by Widger - was during a steal attempt by Chris Sullivan. Since he was already a baserunner his run counts. The second error - Ozuna's throw - wouldn't have impacted Garabito reaching. He got a single without benefit of an error. Interestingly, he did not receive an RBI for the Atkins run. Here's a description for error that may explain the second error scenario better. http://encyclopedia.laborlawtalk.com/Error...l_statistics%29 Not quite. If Sullivan scored on a SAC Fly, and the inning ended without any more hits or what not, the run would be unearned, because the errant throw allowed him to score. He wouldn't have scored from 2nd on a SAC Fly. It's not just because he was a base runner already the run counts.
  8. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) stop being modest. have a red stripe HOORAY RESPONSIBILITY
  9. No, i'm not implying i'm a baseball god...but i have been keeping score at games for a few years and have always paid attention to how things are scored and for what reason. And you are correct in saying that if there wasn't a double they wouldn't be earned. That's why you have to think about errors and runs after the inning is over.
  10. In the first, the error allowed Sullivan to get to third on the steal of 2nd. Helton singled - so it was ruled that Sullivan would have scored on that hit anyway - therefore the error had no difference on Sullivan scoring, so it's earned. In the 2nd, the error on Ozuna had a run score and a guy move to 3rd. However, remember that it was a single with an error. After 2 strike outs, there was a single and a double, so it was ruled that those base runners would have scored anyway, and the extra bases that Ozuna game them were irrelevant. Hope that makes sense. Many times you have to figure out the impact the errors had AFTER the inning is over. It can't always be ruled that "those runs will be unearned" right when an error happens.
  11. What a joke...way to possibly ruin your career before it even starts. Brasic time indeed. IMO, Brasic would have started anyway, but Flakes would have certainly seen some playing time. He would also have been the starter the next 3 years if he developed at all this year.
  12. Aboz i wasn't suggesting that they wouldn't take him back or something - i just don't want there to be bad chemistry between those 2 going into next year. It took Weber a lot of time to get Dee to buy into him and his system...we don't need any more problems. This is totally Dee's team next year, too. If there is animosity there, it could spell problems. We especially don't need this yapping through the media.
  13. Very excited about this news...if we can get a full season in next year, that would be spectacular. If there are significant changes for next season, which i think there will be, i would bet there is a shootout at the end of overtime, and goalie's pads will be smaller - perhaps 10 inch leg pads instead of 12, etc. I'm a hockey 'purist', but the shootout needs to happen to get fans back into the game. It will only be in the regular season anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. There will be some sweet breakaway moves unveiled, and it will be very entertaining. NHL has a long way to go, but you have to start somewhere.
  14. Finally we catch a break, no pun intended. He had no business going into the draft, but he seemed VERY content with going in the very late 2nd round and getting any money out of it. Now we'll have to monitor the weber/dee relationship after the latest developments.
  15. Eric Marshall of Barrington High School (where i went) threw a no hitter today in the super sectional game, and they won 4-0. No walks, 12 K's. I guess he hit a batter though. They are going down state for the first time since 98.
  16. My name is Brian Kenny /useless information department
  17. Simple lists of parks i've been to other than comiskey and us cellular: Likes: PNC - amazing Fenway Camden Yards Miller Great American Ballpark - not spectacular, but i still like it Wrigley Dislikes/Meh: Shea - Worst. Yes, even the Vet was better Yankee Stadium - doesn't feel like an old park at all anymore The Vet Twinkie Dome Busch County Stadium
  18. This is pretty shocking. I was in Prof Gaines 480 class this semester, and all of our research was aimed at confirming our data that pointed to Fielding as Deep Throat. Gaines has to be going nuts right now. Addison, let me know what Gaines has to say. He may still send an email to our class, but if he doesn't, i'd like to know his thoughts. He had a brief soundbyte on abc 7 tonight, but it was basically "well i'm shocked" and not much else of value. I'll also be interested to see what he does with the website now.
  19. Get this, my sisters love to cut the grass. Every time dad tells me to cut the grass, they jump at the opportunity. Knock yourself out, i say
  20. I got section 231 row 4, right by first base. What an epic find, i'm excited as hell.
  21. He's going to choose Duke, as we've known for months. If he somehow picks Illinois, i don't even know how i'd react, i'd be beyond shocked. God damn North Shore kids

    thefacebook.com

    Facebook is just a contest to see how many "friends" you have by putting them in a big list. I know people that waste hours on that thing. I've heard some bad stalker stories on there and s*** too. It does nothing for me, and i refuse to register. People obsessed with facebook need to get a life. I'll stop the rant here, i don't have another hour to waste at the current time.
  23. Patrick is brutal on SC...the interviews are always especially terrible. The guy needs to stick to radio. The 5pm SC is useless in my mind.
  24. Pulled this from Baseball Tonight Extra for what it's worth: Friday: Rodrigo Lopez vs. Mark Buehrle Buehrle is among the games quickest workers, but in Lopez's last three starts, the games have lasted an average of 3 hours, 52 minutes.
  25. Today we salute you, Mr. Chicago White Sox doubter on ESPN... Completely ignoring the fact that the Chicago White Sox have the best record in baseball, one of 2 undefeated starting pitchers, a Team ERA that is miniscule, even by today's standards, a lack of errors, and the league leader in Stolen Bases, you find clever ways of saying, "Do not be mislead by this team, they are not that good" You even go as far as to say that the CUBS have a better chance at the playoffs and that the Sox staff isnt even the best in the city, let alone the league. I mean you do have a point, no team has more unrealized potential than the Northsiders, but then again there is a fine line between being unrealized and being a bust, when will you admit the Cubs are there? So crack open a nice cold Bud Li...oh wait, make that an Old Style, Mr White Sox doubter, and sit in the Cubby Bear and watch as the Sox pull away...
