  1. Click on the official draft thread above, there's pages upon pages of everything you want to know on all of our picks that guys have been pulling from differen sources, as well as some opinions. Edit: By "above" i mean it's pinned to the top of the futuresox board.
  2. Ya, Joe Borchard is a "BAD" baseball player.... You only looked for data that supported your viewpoint, i believe that's called bias.
  3. It could also be a great showcase opportunity if KW is trying to move him
  4. "we lose money" Hm, i thought reinsdorf owned the team Harsh reality = Sports is a business
  5. 1.61 Whip is TERRIBLE, WOW Colon is gone, he's not doing jack in Anaheim, who cares, forget about it
  6. I've heard he prefers baseball. I highly doubt the Sox make this pick if they aren't pretty damn sure he'll play baseball. Man, i've never seen the guy play baseball, but i've seen about 3 of his football games. I don't see how he could have a "weak" arm And there's no way this is a message/motivational pick
  7. No, i'd say Lord help us if Rauch starts...
  8. North is not smart when it comes to sports. Period.
  9. Did not pitch all of last year...?
  10. Stanley Cup Final Pre-Game Quotes, June 7 -- Coach Darryl Sutter Contact Information: N/A 2004 Stanley Cup Final Calgary Flames at Tampa Bay Lightning Pre-Game Quotes St. Pete Times Forum June 7, 2004 COACH DARRYL SUTTER Q. Can you update us at all on the stat of Robyn Regehr? DARRYL SUTTER: He probably won't play. Q. How about Shean Donovan as well? DARRYL SUTTER: Probably won't play. Q. Your team has been sort of the sum-of-the-parts team all Playoffs; Regehr is a major part. Do you feel you can compensate the way you have done so many times? DARRYL SUTTER: Yes. Q. You said at the start of the series that you felt the longer it went the more you guys had the advantage. Do you see it now having played out that way in terms of being able to wear them down, the fatigue factor, that type of thing? DARRYL SUTTER: I don't think there's a fatigue factor. Q. The one nice thing about Game 7 of the Final is that this morning you know it's your last practice. You know this is the last date of the season. Is there any feeling in you right now before Game 7 about how you feel about this group knowing that this group won't be together as this, it will be different? DARRYL SUTTER: I don't think you can get too melancholy about it. But at the same time I think it's our 108th game. So we kind of are proud of our players for that. ******************************************************************* I think Sutter is just messing with Tampa, and both will play. But who knows.
  11. If you believe that stuff i have some AOL stock i'd like to sell you...
  12. to say the pirates are the one of the best road hitting teams...still take a look at the lineup. It's not that great. But yeah, with that pitching, they will be in contention all year. I'm just hoping that lineup continues to spin its wheels in the mud.
  13. Bingo. I posted about this on another thread at length.
  14. He might be facing adkins... ******************************************************* By Bob Foltman Tribune staff reporter June 6, 2004, 11:26 PM CDT SEATTLE—After a week in which he didn't have to think too much about it, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen must confront the one issue he has yet to get a handle on—finding a fifth starter. "Hopefully when I get to Chicago, I'll get some ideas about what we're going to do," Guillen said. "I'm getting frustrated about bringing somebody in for a couple innings and all of a sudden they're not there anymore." Guillen's options haven't changed much since the last time the Sox needed a fifth starter: Use someone out of the bullpen, like Jon Adkins, bring up someone from the minors or bring in someone from outside. "With so many pitchers in baseball, I never thought it was going to be that tough to find one," Guillen said. "[General manager Ken Williams] is still working real hard and a lot of names have come up." Although his experience with bringing Neal Cotts out of the bullpen for a start didn't work out as he had hoped, Guillen said using Adkins on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves is a possibility. Guillen also said Jon Rauch is a possibility, although a remote one. Rauch got the start May 29, lasting just 32/3 innings and infuriating Williams by leaving U.S. Cellular Field before the end of the game. "That kid made a mistake and he knows it," Guillen said. "Is there an option to bring him back here? Yeah. But I don't think he left a good flavor to come back."
  15. I can just hear Bernstein now.... "POWERRRR ARM!!"
  16. Much appreciated, it's faster than the MLB draft front page thingy.
  17. Don't take out Ruutu Ha, i have no speakers here...damn it.
  18. Where are you guys getting the live updates at? I can't watch the mlb draft show here at work...
  19. Well, who are they hurting lying about it? Sure the fans want to know the truth, but don't all GMs do this kind of thing to a degree?
  20. So you know what the books look like? Interesting Plus, where would money for Garcia or another trade come from if we had spent it on Ponson?
  21. You have to think that is IS your money. We are all playing GM/Owner on here and giving our opinions, so you have to use reality as a guideline...
  22. Why not just put Koch on the DL without performing any tests on him at all, ala Joe Borowski style. Anyone else find that kind of odd?
  23. Just take a look at the numbers, and it has to be Henderson without a doubt. The HOF record room is practically a Rickey shrine
