  1. Yeah, I suppose...although it takes a special brand of alcoholic ( coffcoff*Maury*coffcoff ) to get s***ty on a "school night"... It's unavoidable, I guess - big crowd = bigger # of assholes... Every other team draws huge crowds and don't have brawls every day. I hate to say it, but see Cubs fans. Ya they are drunk as hell, but at least they aren't trashballs starting fights Big crowds is no reason for the number of fights i saw last night. I mean, there was more than the one that you might let slide. It was embarrassing. I say pitch half price night, even though it would cost me and others money
  2. I disagree. Manuel basically did hand in that game sunday with the lineup he threw out there. Do guys need days off? Yes. Do you give those days off to everyone on the same day? Hell no. You do it one at a time usually so you still have close to your best lineup out there. That lineup was garbage sunday
  3. You might be able to at some points...i know you don't understand it but ask anyone at the game, or at least int he upper deck...it was loud. It was more a product of what he was banging somehow
  4. Was he their QB last year? I can't remember who was QB when we (Illinois) played you last year. Ya, that was the game we blew, at home, on a last second field goal. Unbelievable. Your QB was pretty good and one of the little small receivers had amazing, amazing hands...he was making one handed outstretched catches and stuff...and boy was he quick.
  5. I would give most hr balls back to the guy for a few autographed things, just something to remember it by If it was a huge huge milestone ball (worth millions), then i probly wouldn't give it back, i don't think a lot of people would trade a million or so for an autographed jersey. From SC last night...did you know, the only player to have his 3,000 hit be a home run is.... Wade Boggs (and i believe he kissed home plate after it)
  6. "here's the ball damaso, please pitch innings 7-9. Thank you"
  7. Ya, it only stopped when Olivo swung at a pitch taht hit him, and he's ruled out (the right call) and everyone can then go from wave to yelling bulls*** That guy in the upper deck making that really loud annoying noise was like 2 sections over from me, it was horrible. It had to be able to be heard all over the place. The wave pisses me off, no one watches the game they just all watch the wave. Wow, it's so cool.... Can't agree enough with what you said about fans. We had bases loaded and i see people leaving, walking up, looking for seats, blocking my view. I stood basically the whole inning, it was unreal. I was right on the aisle yesterday, so people were always blockign my view. I think i have mastered the art of late pitch head movement in order to catch the ball reach the plate. You are right, sit down and watch the damn game. If it effects me watchign the game (which it did), then i have a problem with it.
  8. Before the game too, remember...tailgating and stuff
  9. Sure, in hindsight you could say well schoeneweis sucked....and if he was good, you would say well good move jerry, cuz schoe got the outs. But, you can't manage in hindsight. Hence when the move happened, i disagreed with it. If it worked, well then i'll keep my mouth shut and say ok good job JM. But, it didn't. There's no reason to go to the pen at that point, none IMO
  10. Any word on tucker's injury? I haven't seen a replay or heard a report on it yet, but he seemed to be in a ton of pain and it looked pretty bad
  11. Ya, should you be easy on a guy that's unruly and resists security? Please. You need to set an example. I don't know why half these guys aren't cuffed...most of em throw punches even when security is holding them
  12. His excuse postgame was fluff, and Garland was really really pissed, he basically said i can't talk to the media or i'll get in trouble. I think it was an absolutely terrible move. When Manuel came out i thought "gee, that's odd, usually managers don't make visits to the mound to talk, the pitching coach does". Well, they don't, which is what i've always known...but i couldn't believe he was pulled.
  13. I'll admit, i can basically only evaluate the upper deck tonight (and that's where most of your walkup crowd is), but they were awful there were fights and ejections left and right, and things being thrown all over the place. I thought it was bad at some other games....wellt his was the worst one i've seen. That fight int he left field corner in the 9th was ridiculous...it had to be like 5-6 peole involved, and even when security was there there was more rumbling. It's a disgrace to our organization. This isn't normal, and i'm not gonna buy that you have to expect this s*** with a big crowd. how do other teams do it? I have no defense to cubs fans right now, none. At least there was no beer thrown on a player at the track today.
  14. Garland had one bad inning...and yes it was real bad. But he was dominant before that! So he wasn't s***ty the whole game. The s*** inning really surprised me at that point.
  15. The glory days thing was sarcasm and as far as winningest goes, i don't need to listen to some kid tell me michigan is heads and tails above ND, and play a much tougher schedule. it's absolutely ridiculous. I know michigan is good, and i respect them, but if people are going to knock ND immaturely, i can't support Michigan for anyting at that point, i have to defend my team. But i'm done with those tools anyway, they obviously don't know what a tough schedule is and just like saying f*** the tarnished dome. Should i say "f*** big blue?" childish
  16. If you plan on being an obnoxious drunk and starting huge brawls in the upper deck, please don't show That's all
  17. Actually, i think it was just his hand...though i wasn't awed by it and didn't watch him the whole time...and when i say loud, i mean loud. Something up there on those beams rattles a ton and made it easy for this guy to generate a ton of noise.
  18. No man, i'm here. I was irate when he pulled him. the entire time totalling up garland's numbers i was shaking my head and told my friend "i already don't like this" Boom, wheels fall off coincidence? that was one of the quickest hooks i have ever seen, and his comments postgame were complete bulls***. i don't like how he was pitching? Huh? 5+ with 79 pitches and he's gone after a bloop hit? Why did he even start the inning then?
  19. There were huge fights all over the place!!!!!! I don't see every other team drawing big crowds having obnoxious drunks and fights all over the place Tonight was a circus, but you can disagree if you want to.
  20. It was LOUD and obnoxious. I mean, really loud. I bet people heard it downstairs. he was way too obnoxious and drunk. And, i think he resisted security trying to get rid of him. It was nuts. Terrible crowd, thoroughly disappointed. I'd rather have 8,000 good fans at these games. Tonight was garbage.
  21. I blame tonight's loss on manuel. When he got puleld in the 6th after one bloop hit he was at 79 pitches. 79. ridiculous. Try to let him work out of it, instead you tax your bullpen and have a ridiculously early hook on Garland. I was irate. After the game espn reported that manuel said basically he didn't like the way he was pitching...and that a few more hits last inning would have busted the game open. What? it didn't happen, and he's given up 3 freakn runs and a leadoff hit and he's gone? I was dumbfounded. Also, Garland didn't talk to the media, i guess some guy got a word with him and he said he's not going to talk about it because if he does he'll just get in trouble so he said he has nothing to say and left it at that. Translation = really really pissed off at manual Nice job Jerry, you never cease to amaze me.
  22. I don't know what crowd you were watching, but this crowd sucked. Really, really sucked. I was upper deck box, by third base. I need to rant on this.... So there's this guy in the upper deck constantly pounding on like a roof or a beam, and that somehow gets the crowd going, and he was real drunk and everyone just stared at him. He did this like every other inning, just to be loud and stupid. And the fans just stared at him and got rowdy for it and didn't watch the game. He later got ejected - huge ovation from the crowd. And we had not one, but double f***ing waves going at once when we rallied and were down a run. First place team at hand, we're rallying, not one, TWO f***ING WAVES. i was ready to puke. And i know i've harped on this before. But it was a joke. I was pissed the whole night so this just tacked onto it. Then, they all act like they saw the Olivo swinging hit by pitch (which he swung at and is out) and then yelled bulls*** for a long time. Horrible just horrible. And now the worst part. I saw, with my own eyes, 3 different fights, and i'm sure there were more. For those of you that stuck around til the last inning of the game, a huge huge huge fight in the left field upper deck all the way down the line. I think security guys even got hit. Punching, kicking, throwing down stairs...it was ugly. I was really embarrassed. I was talking to my friend and said "how in the hell are we supposed to defend our fans against cub fans". i'll give cubs fans this, that s*** never goes on there. No waves, not many if any fights. We had a lot of em tonight, a lot of fights, and some were vicious. No one was watchign the game, at least in the upper deck, and i just really had it with this crowd. There were about 5 people in my section actually paying attention to the game most of the time. The crowd was electric at the start, and for a few at bats. Then they lost interest and did waves and fought and watched fights and were just really obnoxious. Tonight was an absolute joke. Man, that fight down the third base line was the ugliest one i've seen yet, and i didn't even watch most of it, i was trying to watch the damn game - what a concept. We draw too many trashass drunk fans to these damn half price nights. When cub fans call us a bunch of trashy unintelligent fans, i don't know what i'm supposed to say anymore. Throw on the result of the game, and this night really pissed me off. Sox "fans" piss me off - thank god i have you guys around. Unreal. Fans should definitely be ashamed of themselves tonight - it was awful
