  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 8, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) The rumors were for game 3, not game 2. Gotcha. Flapship needs to break the story!
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2013 -> 10:07 AM) Tepid and boring PP. Last night was the first playoff game I've been able to catch. Felt gooood. I'm not too concerned about our first line, we should just more be thrilled that our 3rd line has done what they should be doing. Also, loved Foley calling out how bad Handzus has been, then Handzus scoring immediately. I love when the reverse jinx works out. Handzus was indeed awful on Sunday. He also didn't score, though he shot it, it was Sharp's goal.

  4. What, no one wants to talk about the rumors from last night that Rose is playing tonight?
  5. Aaaand that's all she wrote for the Canucks. Those who didn't catch NHL 36 Blackhawks tonight (hour), set your DVR for 5:00pm Sunday on NHL Network. Good stuff.
  6. 16-20: http://espn.go.com/espn/playbook/story/_/i...video-games-all Interesting nugget from NCAA 2004: "We added a lot of new features in NCAA Football 2004. But what some people may not know is that one of our biggest features in 'NCAA Football 2004' was actually removed from the game just a few days before we submitted final software for approval. Attempting to capture the mayhem that ensues following an epic home win in college football, we thought it would be a good idea to deliver an equally epic sequence of fans storming the field and ripping down the goal posts. It was in the game, it was polished, and it was ready to ship. But just before the final submission, concern over fan safety led to its removal. That was one of the more difficult messages I've had to deliver, explaining that the feature we worked so hard on all year was being removed."
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2013 -> 08:01 AM) Wraparounds were money. I played so f***ing much NHL 94/95/96/97/98. We outlawed that s*** or the game turned boring. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 7, 2013 -> 08:11 AM) (as you can tell, I really haven't played a video game since college) Ditto. I thought about this the other day - and you're on track...video games will be played again once there are kids around and at that age. I remember playing tons of seasons of Tecmo with my Dad, and we'd always face off in the super bowl. Whoever went right to left lost every time. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 7, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) That game was always sweet when you started a fight. Two fat guys, two medium guys, and you won every time. I always had at least one skinny guy. I loved the puck possession. He was Duncan Keith bringing it into the offensive zone, then dish it.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 6, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) 1) Tecmo Superbowl 2) Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball 3-25) irrelevant You must not have played any hockey video games as a kid, because NHL 94 has to be in the top 5.
  9. Parenthood was picked up for a 5th season, very nice.
  10. For those on gamecast, Thornton had an easy comebacker DP and made an awful throw to 2nd, so Alexei could only get the lead out.
  11. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ May 6, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) Can't wait for the day Hawk comes to your job & tells you how/what to do. Good one. A play by play guy shouldn't be calling things incorrectly before the action even takes place.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) ? Ended the inning in a run down between 3rd and home.
  13. Hawk with the "base hit!...no" Let the game happen, Hawk.
  14. That was the one thing you couldn't do.
  15. ESPN doing a 25 best sports video games, starting today: http://espn.go.com/espn/playbook/feature/v...ideo-games-ever
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2013 -> 03:04 PM) Tell me how with the wind blowing from LF to RF that a ball lands where it did. They didn't have an angle to refute it because the ball was so high, so they had to go with the original call. The ball basically landed almost even with the pole, give or take a few feet. The angle Hawk is b****ing about is not directly on the line, that angle makes it look much better than it does. Wish they had a camera look. Umpire is looking at a ball against a pole, the only way it's foul is if it was foul at some point. He's not going to miss that much of it. What point it crossed is the issue, impossible to tell depth at that point. Another reason, just like with football, they should raise the poles a s*** ton so you never have the "over the pole" issue.
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) that ball was so fair OK Hawk. You couldn't tell with any camera angle, whatever they called was holding.
  18. There's zero angle where you can see the ball and the pole, at least on the Sox telecast.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 5, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) Desperate home team came to play, Hawks were lucky to get to OT. That's playoff hockey, just win game 4 or s*** will get interesting. Islanders got screwed on that OT penalty, brutal. I didn't have as big of a problem with the call. The days of killing someone in OT for a call are gone, there have been plenty of OT penalties the last few years. You don't want a complete double standard, that's a penalty throughout regulation. Good read too: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-dad...html#more-57735
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 5, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) I feel like you've posted more in the nba thread the last week than you have the rest of your 10 years here combined. Haha, correct. Because I hear so much Rose talk all day, so now I have a much stronger opinion on it than I normally would. Otherwise I don't try to talk too much NBA when I don't really follow it.
  21. You can not like Bernstein all you want, but he nailed it here: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/05/05/ber...ire-bobby-hull/
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:26 AM) Does every Blackhawks playoff game have to go overtime? Stressful. Playoff OT hockey is the greatest thing in the history of the world...unless it's your team playing.
  23. Yeah I watched the whole game, that got crazy quickly.
