QUOTE (Brian @ May 5, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) Don't necessarily see that as a jab but Weber but ok. The word "current" is unnecessary except to do exactly that. -
Official Recruiting Thread II

Didn't expect that. At least not after a few weeks had gone without a transfer. I guess next year we play 4 guards... -
ss2k5 is going to be surprised when he opens his Sunday paper this morning. He watched it, who am I kidding.

Might be some busted up store fronts in Vancouver tonight. Ouch. -
Wonder what type of rating Hawk would give Rose's TWTW?

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 3, 2013 -> 04:57 PM) Totally agree that it is bulls*** that they fired over a slip of the tongue. There has to be more to the story than just blaming those unfunny and dumb videos. CSN must have wanted her out for awhile and jumped at the opportunity. First of all, CSN wasn't responsible for the firing, McDonough was. She wasn't fired for the slip up at all. And no, there's not more to the story. Her slip up led McDonough to find all these videos, he didn't like it and didn't like that representing the Hawks brand, and fired her. -
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 3, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) Well they do get tonight off, so... You missed the point. Where would you rather have a day off, KC or NY?

QUOTE (staxx @ May 3, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/...ccording-report "muscle memory" the reason rose is sitting. Wow. It's really f***ing pathetic at this point. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2013 -> 02:42 PM) If this keeps up, Rose will get run out of Chicago and then we'll all be happy. Good one. You're not addressing any of the points we're making. Bring something legit to the table. Your woe is me card doesn't do anything. No one said what you're saying. You're full of nonsense now. Deng gets a f***ing spinal tap, Nate's throwing up, Noah's hurt, Hinrich's hurt...the Bulls are broken...Rose is in great shape and he's not playing due to muscle memory. It's a joke at this point.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) Look, I don't want to get in a long debate about if he should play or not. Doctors have been known to be wrong. If he doesn't feel right, then I trust his judgement because in my opinion Rose isn't a slacker or a "p****". IMO, he is being smart in taking his time. We've seen how other players who suffered the same kind of injury and came back when they were cleared were never the same afterwards. Look, it's a distinct possibility that Rose may never be as explosive as he was. I'm all for sacrificing this season (who really thinks Miami won't waltz their way to their second title?) in hopes of doing something different than other superstars who played when they were cleared only to be shadows of their former self. Maybe taking more time off than what the doctors say could be the difference and we'll see again an MVP version Rose? If that's what Derrick thinks,l I'll take that gamble as well. The point is, he WON'T feel right until he plays. He has to start the process. That is the next step in recovery. You can't just follow all the directions for rehab and recovery and get to this point and say "nope." In theory, he'll never play again because he won't feel right until he plays. Get it? This isn't Jake Peavy's surgery. This has been done thousands of times. This isn't new to doctors. So if you don't think you can beat Miami, you shouldn't play? Hell the Bulls should just forfeit game 7, they can't beat Miami anyway. What's the point in playing? QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 3, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) This isn't just about Rose being soft or not, it's about him being absolutely stupid. Part of his rehab process is to actually play in games and he's not doing that for whatever reason. Sitting out isn't helping him or the team. It's really that simple. We have a winner.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 3, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) What are you guys all a bunch of f***ing grandparents? A bunch of f***ing prudes? Susannah Collins did some stupid funny sports-related reports on YouTube and it would be cause for her not to be hired anywhere? Good grief. Sure, she's bad. But she's hired to manage to blurt out some words properly and not say the players are all having tons of sex. LOL. However, to act like those youtube videos are OMG NEVER HIRE HER is just hilarious. I could see how those videos could hurt her with a certain team or media company. I could easily see someone looking at them and saying "that's too much for me I don't want to hire her." My problem is there's no way in hell they didn't know about it beforehand, they've been watched and they hired her. For McDonough to use it NOW to get rid of her...that's wrong. Unless he wanted her out for some other reason and this gave him an out.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 3, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) While I think the firing is unjust, I also don't think the Blackhawks are in the wrong for being the ones to apply the pressure on CSN to make a move. The Blackhawks, like the Bulls, Cubs and White Sox, have a controlling stake in CSN and their reporters are an extension of the organization(right or wrong). If the organization isn't happy with the way one of their reporters is getting out their information, they have every right to make a move. Well the Mora and Collins issues are different. Your last point cover Mora. Collins certainly didn't "leak" information. This Collins firing is no more than McDonough wanting to get rid of her for...I'm not sure. Dick Allen made a great point above if it's about "the brand."

QUOTE (Wanne @ May 3, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) This has ALWAYS been a crux for this team....not knowing when to let players for something in return when they're peak value. You also need to win. So if someone's at peak value, in theory, they are the most valuable to your team at that point. Players aren't just stocks. Nats should dump Bryce Harper before his stock goes down. -
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) I find the anti Rose sentiment here rather amusing considering that in less than a year you guys will be firmly and comfortably on the DR1 bandwagon. Chicago sports teams fans, gotta love 'em. Everyone will remember this. It's what's happening right now. And there's no good reason for him not to be playing right now. Period. Rooting for him next year while playing has absolutely nothing to do with this. No s*** he'll be back eventually, that's irrelevant. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) The handling of the Rose injury has been a mega clusterf*** PR wise, and those "The Return" ads didn't help either. The Bulls should've anounced early on that Rose wouldn't come back this year like Wilbon said, anything else would be an awesome surprise. Do people really think that Rose, who hasn't played a minute of NBA basketball this year with this squad could come in and be effective? Really? Rose is a ball dominant player, you need time to mesh with your teammates. The playoffs aren't the time and place to find a chemistry. When Rose didn't come back in the regular season, it was 100% guaranteed he wouldn't be back in the playoffs. The Bulls are on the verge of losing this series because of the MASH unit the team has become. A healthy Bulls team without Rose handles the Nets or anybody else outside the Miami Heat in the EC. Yes, as he's been playing for months, and practicing hard. His teammates are saying he looks good. So yes, he could be effective. Even if he's not back to his full potential, he has to START THE PROCESS. That's the whole reason everyone's upset. Mesh with teammates? Let's not make this sound like it's the first year he's been a Bull. Stop making ridiculous excuses for why he shouldn't be back. And no, it wasn't guaranteed, as according to him, it's a day to day thing. His body, which is what he's claiming this is about, doesn't know when the schedule flips from regular season to postseason.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 3, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) I think it's still a contingent commit. Also, this throws an obstacle into the potential Darius Paul visit today as there is no free scholarship for 2013 for Paul then. He would either have to walk on, Starks would have to walk on, or someone like Henry would have to leave. Something is missing here that we haven't been told yet. Yeah, no room for Paul...maybe Starks was option 1 and Paul was option 2? And Paul is contingent on what happens with Starks. -

Apparently Starks committed to Illinois, but we still have no idea if he's going to be eligible next year. It wouldn't make much sense if he's not. -
Also, instead of saying "Blackhawks" and making the whole organization look like assholes, everyone can point directly at McDonough for both of those.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 3, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) rumors are the Blackhawks didnt like the videos and pressured executives to fire her. Yeah. Which is ridiculous if that happened. http://www.chicagonow.com/chicago-sports-m...lins-fired-721/
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 3, 2013 -> 08:16 AM) It's not like those videos were hidden. If Comcast did any research on her, they would have easily found them. In the end, they didn't fire her for any discriminatory reason, so they could do what they want. This will blow over in no time, a new pretty face will take the job, and the Hawks Cup run will continue. Wow. Yeah, I wouldn't think she'd be fired for a slip up like that. But it's shocking they didn't find those videos before (or at least only worry about it now).

The table could not be more set for Rose to step in and help out his team and teammates. Even God is probably pointing to the situation and saying "hey, tonight you have to play"
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) yeah but it's a sports talk show Who cares. It's talk radio. They aren't allowed to talk about anything but sports? I guess they shouldn't been updating people on the Boston bombing situation either.

If Peavy had more TWTW he'd suck it up and pitch through it.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 2, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) I had a nice Twitter conversation last night with a few now former B&B listeners who just cant tolerate Bernsteain anymore. I'm glad to see there are more than a few who have grown tired of his tolling act He's made great points this whole time. Too many people believing the Bible and that homosexuality is a sin, but don't want to be labeled as a bigot or intolerant. It's ridiculous. And those are the people he's turning off, for calling out.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 2, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Hawks to raise season tickets prices again Obviously you have to pay for success, but my tickets have gone from $15 to $36 in 5 years. That's still damn cheap but it's more than doubled already. Can't really blame them, supply and demand. If you dropped, someone else would jump on. Also, the link isn't working. -
QUOTE (lord chas @ May 1, 2013 -> 06:00 PM) You ever disagree with Bernstein? Yes, but that has nothing to do with anything. Address the argument or reasoning if you wish. He's right on this one, so I'm with him. Anyway, just to name a couple to make you happy, I completely disagree with his take on dogs and his take on high school and college sports.

It's not a good analogy. Teaching is not the same as umpiring, or even policing. Umpires and cops aren't trying to teach anybody, it's only about enforcing rules and keeping people in line. They are pure authority figures. Teachers have to get students to trust them and listen to them. Umpires and police offers don't need anyone's trust for anything. They are in charge and have ways to dole out serious punishment. Also, bulls*** that cops aren't supposed to yell. "Excuse me kind sir, you need to drop your weapon and lie on the ground. Please don't make me raise my voice." Crowd control? They don't yell? Now we're just making s*** up.
