I say we just make shingo our new fifth starter
-
I woke up this morning, went to church, drank some coffee, and expected to see the same New York Times I read every morning. Instead I saw a New York Times that tore into Clinton's book and even took a few jabs at his presidency. I am pretty nuetral when it comes to Bill. I don't care what kind of extra-curricular activities he had in the oval office, my life was good, and the country had a nice little boom period. Books of the Times The Following is worth reading

Anyone know any remedies? I know that every thread here is just rants, but I need to get this off my chest. I am f***ing sick and tired of this f***ing lose 2 of 3 s***. A guy at a Mets game once said to me, "show me a team that can't pitch when they hit but can't hit when they pitch, and I will show you a bad baseball team". This series makes that guys cliche look very true. Perhaps we have a bunch of guys who are playing above their talent, and this team just isn't as good as they have looked at times, or maybe they are just slumping. But I sure as hell can't wait to get magglio back off the DL, and I want a f***ing fifth starter that doesn't look like a deer in headlights when he is on the mound.

John Kerry Jan. 25: You and everyone else on this f***ing planet moron. My personal favorite: March 16: wow. Bush has some real winners too June 14 2001: All in favor of kicking Yale out of the Ivy League, say 'I' January 14 2001:

Kerry just has not impressed me. I have to show this picture too

My brother printed out all 600+ pages of the thing, and is reading it. I am way too lazy to read all the testimony and 'expert' analysis, so I skipped to the summary hearings, which are pretty much basic overviews of the different things learned. I especially enjoyed the history of al-Queda summary. I found it interesting to see how one man was basically able to make a multi-million dollar terror industry because of a backwards Sudanese government. I always thought that Bin-Laden funded some things with his own inheritance, however according to the committee he only recieved about $1 million a year until his assets were frozen in Saudi Arabia. Of course the planning of 9.11 was an interesting read. There was already one thread here that talked about the plan to crash planes all over the united states. The most important finding, imo, was that no conclusive evidence was found linking any hijackers to Iraq. In the hundreds of pages of testimony, one witness did say that a bank account the terrorists used to get ID's in Kuwait was paid for by someone or something in Iraq, but the committee did not believe this to be conclusive evidence. The hijackers were terrible drivers...2 recieved speeding tickets (including one on the night of sept. 10) and another was involved in a car accident on the George Washington Bridge in NYC. I really suggest reading the summaries, they are pretty damn informative. The rest of the hearings are just pretty damn long.

5.50...ouch. I am going to make 6 bucks an hour as a custodian. It is not much better than your 5.50 but it is made worse by the fact that 2 of my close friends are making $8 an hour at New York Sports Club.

Defensively, CF is not Crawford's best position, but I would love to have him anyway. He could have been a PG for Kentucky, or a QB for Nebraska, and instead he chose baseball. It looks like that choice is really paying off. The D'Rays have some serious OF talent in their system, so I am not sure if they would want Reed, but if we could find a way to get Crawford it would be exciting.

To be honest with you, I thought the Cardinals would struggle for .500 this year. Instead, barring injuries, they might win 95 games. I don't think anyone saw their pitching staff performing this well. I just hope it holds up.

I figure that the Brewers are still a year away from making a serious push, and the Pirates are still missing a few pieces. So the other four are left as serious contenders. Cardinals: They are being carried by their enormous offense, and they have gotten solid pitching. However with guys like Suppan, Williams, and Carpenter the bottom could fall out at any time. The bullpen is no sure thing. Reds: They have some serious power, but they don't have much at the top of the order. Graves is solid in the pen, and Wilson has been an ace in that rotation, but I don't see how they can last without pulling off a deal. One of the younger pitchers is going to have to step up big time if they want to be in contention come September. Cubs: Scary pitching, and a solid offense. So far they haven't been able to blend the two. But if they do...watch out. Astros: Veteran lineup, and an excellent staff. For some reason they just haven't clicked. Roger has been dominating in all but 1 or 2 starts, but Pettite hasn't been able to stay healthy, and the incumbents have been wildly inconsistent. The bullpen hasn't been as solid as people were expecting either. Williams has to go. I think the Cardinals will pull it out.

2003: April: .233 BA; 1 HR; 13 RBI; .575 OPS May: .209 BA; 3 HR; 8 RBI; .602 OPS June: .244 BA; 3 HR; 11 RBI; .666 OPS July: .244 BA; 4 HR; 12 RBI; .772 OPS August: .352 BA; 7 HR; 18 RBI; 1.051 OPS Sept: .280 BA; 1 HR; 13 RBI; .761 So it is obvious he is not a spring performer.

It kind of looks like he shaved off those chin hairs that he was sporting.

I think he is talking about a game last year when Everett robbed a homerun at the Cell. I might be wrong though...

Very True. :fyou Wal-Mart, and take your dirty mega stores with you

Whitesox.com has Munoz going up against Armas tonight. Armas: 0-2; 6.75 ERA; 13.1 IP; 13 K; 1.65 WHIP Control seems to be his achilles heel, throughout his career it has stopped him from becoming the ace that he was projected to be. Munoz (Birmingham): 6-2; 2.13 ERA; 67.2 IP; 59 K; .997 WHIP He's been filthy in birmingham.
-
yes, we need to get the proverbial monkey off of our back. So come on Munoz! btw, after yesterday, I am now 2-0 with game threads Its still too early to call me a stud or an ace though.
-
I can hardly even remember back to when Everett was fleet of foot. But hey, the guy is getting paid to hit...then again he hasn't been too good at that so far either.
-
This will be like the end of the bulls reign. All five starters leave, Phil Jackson rides away on a motorcycle...have fun winning 8 games next year

I wasn't questioning the accuracy, I thought you were looking for the thread. -
Here is an interesting stat: Buehrle on the road: 2-0; 2.16 ERA; 33.1 IP; 22 K So buehrle is pretty dominating on the road.

It appears to be a false rumor. Supposedly the rumor was started by someone on the ESPN.com BoSox message board. However I can not find the thread. The person supposedly cited the Globe as his source. There is no mention of this trade at the globe's site too bad. I would have loved to see RJ on the BoSox
