There's paulie Walnuts with those walks again.

yet he still does it on the basepaths. -
When will we need a 5th guy for the next 5 weeks
1549 replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ok, lets send a couple of guys to Cincinatti and get that Tim Belcher guy to fill our 5th starter problem. He will be average, and we will win the West when Bo Jackson beats seattle. Then, our 2 aces will pitch poorly in games 1 and 2 of the ALCS. We will be on cloud nine when we win the next two games, but our aces will once again pitch poorly. -

I wouldn't blame last season on Konerko. He actually played better in the second half when we really needed him. The asshole of 2003 would have to be Billy Koch. -
If we gave up borchard and Rauch the Mets would have to fork over more than Strange. The 2 sides of Pat Strange: 2004 (triple-A): 3-3; 1 sv; 5.58 ERA; 40.1 IP; 18 BB; 24 K;10 HR....ouch 2002 (triple-A): 10-10; 3.82 ERA; 165 IP; 59 BB; 109 K...respectable The Mets seem to think that his fastball will translate better as a reliever so they are in the process of moving him to the pen. His strikeout numbers are evidence that he doesn't have anything to keep hitters off balance, so that fastball gets over exposed. I also think I heard he lost some velocity.

Two things to note about Valentin: 1-He is not God. 2-He does not suck. Valentin is a good guy to have on the team, and he gets the job done. Now lets go pick on that asshole crede!

Fantasy value is raising too I was really down on Paul when he fell into that slump, but he has played great lately. -
Buehrle vs. Mulder It's not Koufax Gibson, but it sure is a great matchup.

I don't know beastly, the Mets seem to think Strange will come around when they complete his transition to the bullpen.

a very very hard fastball

Lets face it, the guy just isn't that good. He had his moment, but he just hasn't panned out like we all hoped. He doesn't have a place here, we might as well send him somewhere. Maybe we can get decent low level relief pitcher or infielder for him.

My prayers and thoughts are with those who have given their lives defending this nation. Here is a memorial day poem I like, written about the civil war. Memorial Day Hither we come to scatter flowers This thirtieth day of May, Upon our fallen heroes' graves On this Memorial Day; We cherish now no bitter thoughts In this fair land of ours, But on all fallen heroes' graves We come to scatter flowers. The rank and file in North and South Believed their cause was just; We find upon each battle flag Inscribed, "In God We Trust;" And in this sunny land of ours, Now sleeping side by side, The Union Blue and Southern Gray Lie buried where they died. Since we have come to scatter flowers This consecrated day, We can not cherish bitter thoughts Toward those who wore the "Gray;" Believing that their cause was right, Freely their blood they shed; Then, let us strew-alike-the graves Of all our sacred dead. And those who for the Union fought, In scattering flowers to-day On heroes' graves, would never dream Of passing by the gray; And heroes of the "Southern Cause," In paying homage true, Will not forget the graves of those Who wore the Union Blue. Thrice welcome, then, this sacred day. That binds our hearts anew; Our country undivided stands, For all-now love the Blue; On resurrection day, Linked arm in arm, we'll find the boys Who wore the Blue and Gray. ~By William Henry Clay Dodson~

I'm glad to see Paul get some PT. I always liked him when he was on the sox, it is too bad that he never was able to find a spot on the roster.

I feel sorry for the civilians who will die because of Isreal's tactics.

Hey, kennel dogs are a threat to national security!

well I think to learn to swim you have to be familiar with being in water. Someone who can not swim is not familiar with water, so when they fall in they probably go into a state of panic and can not coordinate their motions.

For some reason I have never really liked Connies. Anyone from the Lagrange/western springs area also knows the awesome taste of Ledo's and Mama Baroni's.
-
I'm a little confused. I read the description, and was wondering if you play the game and act as a gm/owner, or does it simulate games, and you just make all the decisions.

If you say chicago pizza sucks, you have never been to Lou Malnoti's or Giordanos. East coast pizza gets old because it is all basically the same...though a few places stand out.

These songs are about the sox...this is the Sox board.

I had home run inn frozen pizza before every little league game when I was younger. I actually have a taste for it right now.

Where is Jon Rauch's song? Well he's Movin' on up, To the South Side. To a stadium with seats in the sky, Movin on up To the south side. He finally gets another try.

most of the families attending the barbeque root for the Mets, so I might have to watch them...its just not the same

Front to middle of the rotation minor league guy. Or front to middle in the majors. If he projects to be front-middle in the majors, Nuke better get his autograph before he becomes a celeb.

Royals fans "believe" they will win central still

I hate royalty. -
NJ/NY pizza isn't bad, different than what I am used to though. Lou Malnoti's works for me.
