  1. Everyone in the NL Central is playing tough baseball. I hope the Pirates, Reds, and Brewers are able to keep it going.

1-me, and the other posters in this thread who did not like what you said, like CS1. 2-Making comments like that to beastly. 3-this. As soon as beastly said he didn't like your joke, you should have apologized or let it go. Instead you might as well have said "f*** you, I don't care how you feel"

Ask Beastly what it means? Why would I do that? You wrote it, you should know what it means. He brought up bi-polar because he thought you said he was bi-polar. While under the impression that you called him bi-polar, Beastly stated he is not mental. You follow with "yea..you're not mental at all " that does not come across as an innocent comment. That comes across as sarcastic. Really?? than who have your statements been addressed to this whole time? Only one person denied being mental in this thread.

Just explain to me what this means. You say it isn't sarcasm, ok. Just tell me what it is. I am not going to scold beastly for defending himself. All I ask is that we extend a fellow poster a little f***ing courtesy rather than disparage him.

Perhaps I was out of line. In the future if I have a quandary over one of your posts I will just PM you about it rather than bring it up in the thread. I realize your comment was in jest. My point is this, Beastly has something to be damn proud of. Why make insulting jokes about it? I think the 'mental' thing is what upsets me the most. However, I don't think any of those comments needed to be said. The FCC joke would have been ok, but it was not in green, and it was not followed by any sort of congratulatory message. It came across as more of a putdown than a friendly jab. the mental thing was also unmerited.
  9. Regardless of who killed him, he is still a hero.
  10. LOS ANGELES (May 29) - Former pro football player Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire as he led his team of Army Rangers up a hill during a firefight in Afghanistan last month, newspapers in California and Arizona reported Saturday. The U.S. Army Special Operations Command was to release information later Saturday on the death of Tillman, who walked away from a multimillion-dollar NFL contract to join the Army after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The Arizona Republic and The Argus of Fremont (Calif.) both reported the Army would announce Tillman was killed by fire from his fellow soldiers. "It does seem pretty clear that he was killed by friendly fire," Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., a member of the House Armed Services Committee, told the Republic. The Argus cited a family friend and also government sources it did not name as confirming the friendly fire report. Tillman's family declined to comment. Tillman, 27, was leading his comrades against enemy shooters who had pinned down other soldiers when he was killed on April 22. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, one of the Army's highest honors. The Cardinals safety became a symbol of patriotism to many Americans when he turned down a three-year, $3.6 million contract extension to join the Army. 05/29/04 06:26 EDT Copyright 2004 The Associated Press. Steff's comment on this issue just doesn't sit well with me. I am glad to see I am not the only one who feels this way.

Completely unnecessary Steff. The kid comes here to tell us he is doing something exciting in his life. No need for cheap shots. Especially when you consider how he has reversed his attitude on the boards. Secondly, the face seems to indicate some sarcasm in what you said. A comment like that is out of line.

    Bomb Scare

Husbands have an alibi... "Honey, I heard your friend scream 'pick up that hooker!' when you called home earlier...what was that about?" "it was just vice city...I swear it was vice city!"
  14. My 2 states rolled up in one news story At least it wasn't illinois man blows up new jersey.
  15. The cincinatti Reds epitomize the term 'flying under the radar'. I doubt it will continue though, as an unexperienced staff will catch up to them.
  16. I was at that game...fond memories The lasting image in my head will be of Jeff Weaver storming back onto the field.
  17. Last night was an amazing episode. It was one of the best episodes since the Jackie Jr. hit episode. I started watching the sopranos in season 2, watched season 1 after season 2 and then never went back to watch any old episodes again after that until last weekend. Everyone looked so much younger, it was weird, and took time to get used to.
  18. If baseball tonight did not show the Yankees at the beginning of the show, they would be complete morons, and all the producers would be fired. They are the most popular team in the country, they have the most star players, and they have won 26 titles. They deserve a spot in the first 15 minutes. A tight-wad owner, 2 championships in over 100 years, a mediocre fan base (until things pick up), and only 1 decade with multiple playoff appearances = last half hour of bbtn. sad but true. Bottom line, who gives a flying f***.
  19. Statistically no. I agree most die-hard fans know as many if not more statistics than John Kruk and Harold Reynolds, but kruk and reynolds have a lot more at-bats than you and I, so I respect their insight.
  20. Baseball Tonight is not meant to cater to fans of one specific team. Like any other show, they want ratings. The Chicago White Sox are not the team on America's mind at the moment. Why should they lead off with the Sox? If we had 40 wins I am sure we would be leading off, but right now we are just another mid-level team playing pretty good ball early in the season. For those who are not Sox fans, the Sox are not much of a story.
  21. I just want the truth to be revealed.
  22. I believe you missed the point in brando's statement. Stolen bases and infield singles are totally worthless if Borchard doesn't turn into the power hitter everyone has expected him to be.
  23. All these guys will come at a high price. I like all of them except for Ortiz. The guy can't go 9 innings because he walks nearly as many batters as he strikes out. He is the only guy on their I don't want to see in a Sox uni. I would be surprised if the brewers gave up sheets
  24. He performed well when the Sox were at Yankee stadium, and those were the only Sox games I have seen in person this year. I should have said, if only he could hit as well as he is capable of fielding.
