  1. Varitek: .273 BA; 25 HR; .863 OPS; 51 BB Lopez: .328 BA; 43 HR; 1.065 OPS; 33 BB If Jason Varitek was named Einar Diaz, than RedandWhite would be a moron, but Varitek is a solid player, and RedandWhite is not a moron.
  2. I agree he should be on the list, his name slipped my mind. He is a solid offensive catcher and handles that staff well. However I think, at their best, Lopez is the better player.
  3. Where's Gary Glover when you need him
  4. This is Ozzie's first season as a manager, he is going to make some rookie mistakes here and there. With that said I think the atmosphere he creates makes up for questionable decisions.
  5. I have seen 3 of the best, Ricky, Raines, and Lofton. As a kid I feared Kenny Lofton when he went to the plate. He was the God of the leadoff position in the 90's. However Ricky is the best leadoff hitter ever and he got my vote. If Deion Sanders had been able to hit a curve ball, he would have been up there with the best of them (assuming he dedicated himself to baseball).
  6. OMFG...I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head. All I know is that if hell exists, there is already a table with your name on it
  7. Including a prosecuting attorney.
  8. From what I have heard, it is harder on the family than it is on the victim.
  9. There are 4 Perennial all-star catchers in this game, I-Rod, Jorge Posada, Mike Piazza, and Javy Lopez. The Marlins can't expect those kinds of players. However I agree with Witesoxfan, that Hermida is too steep.
  10. Bad pick. I hear this team from Nevada is a sleeper in that bracket.
  11. The Playoffs have recieved little attention this year. The Bulls did not come close, my Nets were eliminated quickly, and KG could not take down the lakers, ugh. However, I love basketball and plan on watching the finals (but not tonight). This matchup does not have the personalities of the "showtime lakers vs. the bad boy Pistons" matchups of the late 80's, however I expect a good series. Ben Wallace is a beast inside and his presense alone will prevent the Lakers from destroying the Pistons inside like they did to the Nets, 76ers, and Pacers. Kobe, Gary, and Fisher are better than Rasheed, Billups, and Hamilton but the Pistons front court will be tough on the lakers. The Pistons offense looked horrible at times against the Pacers, but I think in this series they will score more than they are used to. My Prediction: Pistons in 7 Ok, now this is the time when all the experts out their call me retarded
  12. A little food for thought from Whitesox.com: Moyer: 5-6 4.42 lifetime against the sox Loiaza: 2-4 8.15 lifetime against the M's.
  13. I love number 2. Especially when he goes back to kill that old fat guy who killed his family. Now lets talk about part 3...
  14. I was planning to do a D-Day based theme for the title of todays game thread, but you beat me to it. Lets Go White Sox! Win one for the Vets.
  15. My bad, I didn't know it had been posted already.
  16. Its a little-league sized baseball diamond with batting cages and a grandstand elevated above the left field concourse.
  17. FUNdamentals baseball field will be completed by 2005 season. Well, it is unique.

    Accidents

I bruised my elbow yesterday...thats about it for recent injuries lol. A few years ago I was riding my bike. I looked down to change gears and just as I looked up I hit the back of a parked U-Haul truck. Enertia carried me off my bike seat and I slammed my face against the back of the truck, I was not wearing a helmet and my head felt like it was going to explode. The movers laughed at the site of me laying on the ground moaning while my bike was on the ground next to me, all f***ed up. The chain had fallen off, and the alignment was so off that the handlebars were almost parallel to the tires, I am not quite sure why that happened.
  19. I love The Untouchables but Gump wins Lt. Dan-Whats the matter with your lip? Bubba-I gotta lota gum sir Lt. Dan-Well you better tuck that in, you don't want to get that caught in a trip wire.
  20. I agree with your synopsis. Each season has seemingly focused on different parts of Tony and his life. Whether it be business, family, or the two conflicting. And I can't remember any big cliffhangers. The last two seasons had very definitive endings with Jackie Jr. dying and Tony walking out. Your Meadow prediction is interesting, and well thought out. Tony will probably have to kill Tony B. tonight which will set up for some drama, and I also would like to see Phil get whacked...just because he is an asshole.
  21. Here is my story of the Belmont The first race started at noon. My friend and I got there at 10 to stake out a spot. We start betting on the races, we won one, lost the rest. We had a little money on Smarty Jones, but we decided to choose a back up horse...I only had $5 left to spend. While looking at their times in previous races my friend notices that a horse named Birdstone has an identical time. Long story short, my 5 dollars turned into 200. \ So I can't say I am too pissed that smarty lost
  22. I think one of Reagan's greatest abilities was public speaking. I am not old enough to have viewed any Reagan speeches as they were going on, but I have seen the Challenger Speech, and "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down this wall" speech many times. They are both very moving. I was at the Belmont Stakes when I found out. They announced it and there was a moment of silence. When the moment of silence ended a chant of "Ronnie, Ronnie" engulfed the grandstand. 120,000 people, ranging from teenagers like myself to wealthy arystocrats dressed in suits all chanting for this man (In a liberal part of the country no-less). I think that will tell you a little something about his popularity.
  23. I just don't want to see another argument. I think you and beastly should forget previous comments in this thread, or else we will have a repeat of last weekend.
