My freshman year of highschool seems like it was so long ago, but that one day...September 11th, it feels like it was yesterday. I remember every detail of that day.

I am pretty sure everyone here supports Israel. We only disagree on Israels response to terror.
-
I agree step 1 is necessary. Step 2 already exists. Step 3 is probably impossible, but a stable government in Palestine would probably police militants. Step 4 is also probably impossible. Except for step four I agree that all those things are necessary, but getting there requires Israel's help. And this is where you disagree.

When your living dirt poor in bombed out town with blood on your walls, and family members buried in your yard, I don't think image matters.

"My memory has just been sold...Angel is the centerfold" I think that song is appropriate for this thread.

What is your solution Israel4ever? You believe that the Palestinians are corrupt, hating, deviant bastards that cannot be negotiated with, and will never change their feelings of hatred? So what do you plan to do about it? Genocide?...Move Israel?...Blow up the earth? We have all offered opinions on how this can be solved and you say they are all bulls***, so what can be done?
-
I fail to see your point. I cannot blame these people for having a blurred vision. They live in poverty, they are being told by people they trust that the US and Israel are to blame. They are told that the only way to happiness is the destruction of Israel. The only way to change this is to end the poverty, fear, and resentment.

O.J. Chase- watched it on tv. O.J. verdict- Lunch ladies were watching it in the school cafeteria. Oklahoma City- Came home from school, saw it on the news. Well then we need to send in third party orginizations to rebuild. I have a feeling that in the past we didn't just give Arafat a lump of cash and tell him to rebuild.

sounds good.

I read an article once about seach engines and how they use 'spiders' to hunt through the files and find stuff. It reminded me of the matrix.
-
that would be pretty cool.

Well said. I feel exactly the same way.

Can you provide us with a translation of one of his 'Speeches of Praise'? (from a credible source). If you cannot find a tranlation, at least a news report that says he has been doing this, because it is news to me.

Has any leader thus far been able to do that? These militant groups are going to keep doing their thing until they see progress. Progress will not occur until Sharon begins to work with Queria on rebuilding and strengthening Palestine as a nation.
-
Unless you can prove otherwise, I believe Queria has a great deal of power if not all of it. This guy is not a figurehead that emerged from nowhere. He has been second in command of PLO, and has alway worked very hard behind the scenes for peace. In fact Israel has invited him to sit in on their parliement meetings several times. I don't think Arafat would use someone with Queria's connections and convictions as a figurehead.
-
The money would not be going to Arafat. Ahmed Qureia is the prime minister of Palestine and seems much more devoted to peace and the well being of his people. In fact without Qureia secretly working for peace in 1993, the Oslo meeting would have never occurred.
-
No, I do not remember the details of Oslo. But, Arafat is gone.

I understand why they are impatient, but it can not be accepted. Besides, the Palestinians don't back off when Israel launches an attack. So Israel can look at it like this... Option 1- We continue to murder palestinian militants, and level palestinian towns. While doing so we coninue to suffer terrorist attacks in a never ending cycle. Option 2- We participate in a ceasefire and make concessions, and work on building a strong palestine nation. There will be some attacks, but over time stability seems likely. If option 2 fails, Israel can be no worse off than if they had chosen option 1.
-
I agree with Texsox, I hope he is captured alive and put on trial. If we do hit him with a missle in a populated area I will think it was the wrong approach but I will be glad he is gone.
-
I am well aware of this. First I believe many negotiations fail because 1) Israel does not make concessions and 2) Israel is not patient. I can recall over the winter when Israel had made a ceasefire with several militant groups. After militant groups not involved in the ceasefire launched several terrorist missions Israel violated the truce. This lack of patience will not achieve anything. As I stated in December if Israel rebuilt Palestinian towns rather than destroy them and leave them or if Israel gave money to the Palestinian government to build a suitable country (I also believe the US should do the same), then attacks would be more frequent. Instead we have poverty, fear, and resentment. That is how hate arises.

We shed tears for those victims, and the victims that are going to be killed in the near future because of Sharon's ruthless renegade tactics.
