  1. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) The Phillies would probably ask for Jenks in any trade to replace Wagner. I highly doubt we get Thome or Howard. we would be idiots to trade jenks for wagner. wagner is past his prime. jenks is just beginning. stick with the kid baby!
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Once again I read one of your topics and think to myself "What the hell?!?!" yet you continue to read them
  3. this could lead to KW getting more press, which I believe he deserves. then again, espn will find some other reason, i'm sure, to blow someone in the red sox organization before (say, the clubhouse manager).
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) I say, wait and see what happens with Konerko and other FAs on the market, then make a decision on Frank. i love frank too much to hang him out like that though. anyone else and i would agree with you.
  5. i especially enjoy that that homo kurkjan got a world championship boot shoved up his ass.
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:59 AM) PK's DOB = March 5, 1976. That makes him 29. So, signing a 29 year old to a 7 year contract is not much worse than signing a 31 year old to a 5 year deal, which you thought to be reasonable when you were under the impression PK was 31. um are you seriously referring to the idea of signing damon? you've got to be kidding. i believe that we have alredy established that damon is a BUM, whereas PK is not. dude, seriously, johnny damon? what are you smoking?
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) noone was throwing up the SHOCKER too bad, cause then it'd be like a real university. you got to shock 'em baby
  8. unless the entire cast of the skit was guest stars who actually have talent, i dont even want to watch it. snl is terrible these days.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) Wrong, the radio station does pay the announcers. They are listed as team employees, but they are paid by the stations. you are right, contrary to what a lot of people think.
  10. my money says we keep paulie and we dont even need griffey. however, say i'm wrong and PK goes to anaheim or somewhere else. Would griffey be a good pickup? We are sorta set for the outfeild...I guess he could go to first. the more i think about it the less acquiring griffey makes sense.
  11. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) thats not the point! lol Uribe deserved a GG. It doesn't matter, Ozzie will just stack the AL all-star team with White Sox next year to make up for this grave injustice. good. to the winner go the spoils.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Sucks to be you. sucks to be mike caruso (i dont know how to make the letters green)
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) I still find this one more entertaining. its not like that picture is before he started juicing or anything...
  14. QUOTE(Reddy @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:54 AM) ESPN article very fun article - i especially love the bit about our starting staff going 113 innings in the postseason without giving up a 3 run inning. only team to ever go that long. in fact only 6 teams have gone more than 40 innings. holy s*** we were good. some of it is interesting, but some of it is such a stretch it kind of makes you ask "what the hell?" Like he thing about Houston being by Route 45- it's not weird or wild, it's just a coincidence.
  15. QUOTE(bulokis @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) All we need to do is offer Paulie close to the highest offer he gets and maybe he will sign for less money. probably not. PK will leave for more money. we have to top the highest bidder.
  16. as someone who works in the radio industry, let me assure you that those stations dont care. they are run by a ceo in another city (probably dallas or houston) who only is interested in the dollar. they dont care about what fans like. no way they give rooney much less anyone a substantial raise.
  17. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) Let me clarify....not this year, but before this year almost everyone on this board at one point or another did. i think you are rationalizing. i also think you need to admit that you advocated a trade of crede for castilla. c'mon, admit it.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Garland has 159 Career starts with 64 wins. Wood has 174 Career starts with 70 wins. I still don't believe Garland gets $8 mil in arbitration. spoken like a true cubs fan. garland is better than wood; he is a member of the white sox. wood is on the cubs.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) I'll add another: What about when Pablo swung at a pitch after it was already in the catchers glove on a hit and run. as a raging alcohalic, i can say that this is the funniest moment i remember from the entire season.
  20. as the person who started this thread, let me assure you that this thread has one purpose: to make those who advocated the trade of crede for vinny castilla (especially) or joe randa EAT CROW. so step up to the plate and cleanse your soul
  21. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Seriously though, some people's love for Joe Crede is confusing. yeah, really. and bobdylan, im not slapping anyone in the face. without crede's clutch hitting, we would not have won the world series, period. the same goes for paulie, jermaine, etc. when you say that ozuna could have replaced joe crede at third...to me that's just so illogical. but hey, that's why this forum is fun. i respect your opinion, but i severly disagree with you. in my mind, there is no way in hell that ozuna could have done all the things crede did for this team. how many game winners did crede provide, in the feild and at the plate? that's what im backing my opinion up to. and for the record, you need to acknowledge that you are feasting on crow right now because you called for a trade of crede for randa. all randa would have brought to this team is a smirk. but hey, that's just me.
  22. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) I don't see how anyone on this message board could say that without being a player or part of the organization. How could you or any of us possibly know? By quotes from other players? There are plenty of players that can fill his shoes, PLENTY. Whether they are available or not is another question. why are you hating on crede so much? do you have a problem with a player who we would not have won the world series without? and by slamming on crede in this topic, are you inferring that the castilla trade should have gone down?! different strokes different folks, i guess...
  23. no suprise to me. got to tip my hat to carl though. he was as important to our championship as a lot of other guys on the team. he should retire and go out on top maybe.
  24. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) I can truthfully say that I always supported Joe Crede. But, I don't see any reason to run peple's faces in it either. We all seem to let the frustration of a few games during the season get in the way of seeing things over the 162 game big picture. shutup. eat crow or dont.
