  1. I know nothing about Oswalt. What pitches does he have? Strong points? Weak points? Can someone give me an idea of what I'm going to see tonight from him?
  2. if we lose paulie, that would be a HUGE mistake. pay him whatever he wants!
  3. thats all i've done since the playoffs started...i havent gotten canned yet!
  4. she's irish? well, there you go. shes lucky her liver didnt get her first, it's more painful.
  5. these picks kinda make sense to me for most of the people, but damaso and iguchi are kinda strange...different strokes, different folks, i guess.
  6. letterman is such a f***ing cheese doodle cliche these days. conan is the best.
  7. espn doesnt have half the credibility they had 5 years ago.
  8. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) not to bring up a depressing topic, but it has been a little tough listening to rooney's great calls during the playoffs and knowing he may not be around next year. He has been at the top of his game during the playoffs. Sox need to bring him back to the booth, im just not sure how! man, im going to miss rooney. who's going to replace him again?
  9. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) Man, I just can't imagine this. I couldn't imagine someone pulling a lady's hair and I can't imagine who the hell just slaps a lady like that. I read in the sun times today She "feels the whole thing got blown out of proportion,'' Could this have been a guy clapping right by her and rubbing it in and his hand hit her or something?? I can't see someone slapping my wife in the head and her saying "it's blown out of proportion" unless she knew it was unintentional. The article goes on with this crap Now I went to Houstons board yesterday to see what they were saying and with the exception of the "class" comment the others were all made by a user named "cubfan" Don't you think that should have been noted? Something like "A despondent cub fan wasn't going to miss this opportunity to take a shot saying blah blah blah" Either that or take it for what it is and not include it in the article. But no...there it is...A cub fan saying we are a lower class of people and the park is not a safe place to bring your family. Now if it's noted who made the post, a lot of people will consider the source, but since it isn't a lot will believe it. Sad. By the way, I'm not defending the fan here. Clearly he was an obnoxious asshole and probably deserved to be put to the wall or whatever, but if this wasn't intentional slapping and pulling hair that should at least be noted. yeah, its worth noting...but it's kind of an unproven conspiracy. theres always the possibility that the dude is really a 'stros fan who calls himself that. a newspaper cant really report that its a cubs conspiracy, but thats why blogs and forums are way better. for example, that bastard dan rather would still be making up news today if it werent for blogs. no other news was going to report that he was lying. just the way the world works, i guess.
  10. as far as the sox being a force for years to come, that depends on what KW and JR do...realistically, you have to think we are going to lose at least one good player. not everyone is a company man, even though i would like them to be. i will always hate the cubs and i will always s*** on them every chance i get. i hope they never have a record over .500 for the rest of time. just cause we have one under our belt (knock on wood) doesnt mean we should hate the cubs any less. just my opinion.
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) wait a couple months, things will settle down. yeah, i agree.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) rv23's video is AWESOME. yeah, i like it.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Biggest Home Run in the history of the Chicago White Sox. i second that.
  14. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) Taveras and Viz aren't really white. Biggio also isn't bearded because he can't grow facial hair (steroids?). very strange truth right there. biggio has never even had stubble that i have noticed...what else can it be but juice?
  15. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) They couldn't have Steve Perry sing over Liz Phair???? WTF??? no kidding i love steve perry, he's classic!
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) I love when they get it wrong. We ARE hitting fastballs like you say. And buck and McCarver about Lidge was moronic. Next pitch, BOOM! We win. is this some attempt at a haiku poem or something
  17. wait a sec, is it houston or arizona that has a pillar in left center feild?
  18. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) The only Astro I don't like is Phil Garner. garner may be a mediocre manager and possibly a bum (simply because hes not affiliated with the white sox), but i dont specifically hate him or anything. i fail to see a villian in this series. houston is simply a team that i have never had an opportunity to hate before.
  19. I have to wonder if that crazy hill in center feild will play some sort of a factor. i hope to god that rowand doesnt get hurt running into it, since as far as i know, hes never played in minutemaid before.
  20. you also have to remember that rock raines is supposed to be telling him what to do the whole time. the fact that before it was caught he put his head down and ran back may have something to do with what rock said. dont get me wrong, i love rock raines. its just a possibility. whether rock had anyhting to do with it or not, i still dont think rowand royally f***ed up or anything.
  21. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Making God Bless America a new “tradition” at sports venues is a bad idea. If it ever really had any meaning for a mass sports audience, it faded within a few of months after 9/11/2001. But having Gene Honda instruct everyone in attendance to stand “for a show of patriotism” for this Irving Berlin ditty is downright presumptuous, insulting and shallow. (Not quite as peculiar as those times when we’re instructed to stand “for your Chevy Pride Crew,” though.) In place of God Bless America, I suggest the PA announcer request a moment of silence while he reads the names of our service members killed that week in service to their country. THAT might be a show of respect for the real patriots. and we could also have michael moore and george soros sing the 7th inning stretch too! its not like you are a flaming liberal or anything...just a guess.
  22. if garland beats oswald in houston, this series is OVER. just my opinion.
  23. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Man I feel sorry for those Houston fans. The shock of it all. Reminded me of a certain inning at Wrigley in '03 for its brutality. Man if they choke after that that's gonna be like the Bartman moment in Houston sports history, or the Buckner play. Ouch. nonsense...nothing tops the steve bartman play. THe only play that will top the bartman would be a white sox world series winner.
  24. what exactly did he say about mariotti?
