  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) I'll be stunned if he's not back with the Sox. If he leaves, at least he went out as a f***ing contributor to a world series winner. You can't ask for much more. me too. paulies the man, no question. kw and jr know to give him what he wants. why mess with a team that is so good? we need pk! pay him whatever he wants!
  2. i really wish we could hold on to every single player we had this season. i just looked at the link with all the free agents, and i really dont see anyone standing out. everything was so perfect this year...what if we do it all again with the same team next year?? how sweet would that be? i say that we keep every single player we can. i know this isnt realistic to ask to keep every single player, but it's just my idea. what you all think?
  3. Damon had one of the most disappointing seasons of all time this year, and i can throw a baseball farther and with more accuracy with my trouser trout. his numbers took such a hit this season because he stopped juicing. he wont ever recover. honestly, i consider virtually every player on this years sox teammore valuable than him. what a horrible idea.
  4. My personal favorites: "Who is Geoff Blum, anyway?" "The Sox are deluding themselves if they believe Bobby Jenks -- a 270-pound rookie reliever -- can stop a historic free-fall."
  5. i concur. why not. hes not that expensive and if we want to stay good we need to keep as many people as possible. the chemistry is undeniable.
  6. it would be interesting to hear tadahito's opinion on the matter. i wonder who he thinks is better.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) All games were great. All games came down to the 8th and 9th innings. maybe he should have listened to farmer and rooney. their calls of the games were priceless.
  8. QUOTE(Nokona @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) I really didn't shove it in the face of anyone unless they asked for it. Several retards decided to wear their Cubs jerseys to school, my friends and I gave them a merciless "NINTEEN OH EIGHT" everytime we saw them. i've been giving it to everyone. im pretty beligerent about it, even if they arent cubs fans sometimes. the last thing i remember from last night is screaming and yelling about how much i hate the cubs. i'm just glad i woke up in my apartment and didnt lose my credit card or my license or my kidneys or my dick.
  9. they subtly make an extremely good point.
  10. the hardball times guy was right on the money, except for podsednik, and he didnt even slam pods that much. pretty good.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Look at Jenks pimp suit! i want to see that, haha
  12. if you go to MLB.COM and watch the fastcast highlights of the game that automatically plays, they show the neon guy celebrating after dye's RBI single.
  13. damn it! im in a computer lab and i cant watch it. is there anywhere on the net to watch it?
  14. how do these morons get hired? not to toot my own horn, but i swear to god i am a better baseball analyst. this chump just got a 0 out of 100 points. talk about being COMPLETELY wrong!
  15. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) a friend of mine works in midway's tower... I'm at work he was just updating me... so i don't know if it is televisded.. i'm guessing no... the flight's # was/is actually whitesox1.. thats awesome
  16. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Yeah right, Cub fans. Not next year, MAYBE next century. MAYBE. i think even that's a stretch
  17. i heard about that guy. does anyone have a picture?
  18. espn is just pissed because now they dont have a good reason to blow theo epstien.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Actually Uribe's play was more similar to Derek Jeter and David Wright's plays from the past 2 years. The Bartman play really doesn't compare, they were under totally different circumstances. who cares? i think we should bring up bartman at every opportunity possible so that we can rub our world series in cub fans' faces!
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Mainly because there's still a problem with getting minorities into coaching positions (mainly in the NFL), at GM and probably most of all as owners. The big 3 sports (NFL, MLB, NBA) might have a majority of players being minorities but these sports still don't have many minorities at the higher positions. This is a big deal. whenever i see a post by you, i always laugh out loud when i see the mike caruso "he hates you too" baseball card.anyways... point taken. what i said is just my opinion. also, im not saying that KW shouldnt get any credit- the man's a genius. i just get annoyed some time when people throw out a race card when i dont even think it matters at all.
  21. race stopped being an issue for me and for many others (i think) a long time ago. when jackie robinson played, it was very important then that he was the first black player (he technically wasnt) in the MLB. today, all different kinds of folks are everywhere, doing all sorts of things for the first time. big whoop. so, when i say "who cares," it's not because im racist or insensitive. who cares?
  22. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Uribe's glovework was sensational. I knew he was good, but my god he was unbelievable. Kinda reminding me of Brooks Robinson in I think it was 1966. Just one great play after another, almost making tough plays look routine. And Dye with hit after hit and some walks too. Maybe the best move Ozzie made all year was putting Dye in the 3 spot and leaving him there. i have to concur with that. while everyone stepped it up, uribe really kicked some ass. hitting in the clutch, but most of all feilding.
