  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) I would agree, but I was just wondering today if he's actually helped us offensively win a game since the first game of the year. probably not I feel like in april the hit he got off of santana led to one of our two runs I might be wrong though
  2. our clutch hitting sucks but with Santana pitching its more understandable
  3. only my second game thread but my first was the Joe Crede walk-off game vs. Cleveland last year, so I'm hoping for the same type of luck c'mon Jose, we need you tonight
  4. maybe they want Gload in as the designated bunter
  5. maybe this soriano thing is the Griffey rumour of the year
  6. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) You're dreaming. That is unless Isiah Thomas becomes the Natonals' GM within the next week.
  7. is there any chance of a vazquez/pods deal for soriano or am I just dreaming?
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) okay...bare with me guys...i'm gonna need like a tim mccarver simplified explanation for my dumb ass does pods move to center than? Is soriano good in LF How much D are we losing for 20 more home runs ? Pods would move to center I think Soriano actually has a good number of outfield assists, but Pods would be a mess in center I think Dye should play center and move Pods to right
  9. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) this could be a very stupid question. Does soriano play CF? i really just do not follow NL i'm sorry. LF QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) i think he'll be good, but not one of the best. he reminds me a lot like buehrle, a right handed version. and as we all know, if u dont have great stuff, u better be able to locate it. imo, i dont think he will be any better than buehrle. Buerhle turned out to be pretty good (except for recently)
  10. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) if the sox were to get soriano and resign him to a long term deal, would u still be upset if the deal happened? >offman reported about the sox inquiring about c-lee too. like that makes sense. yes because I think McCarthy is going be among the Best pitchers in Baseball for many years to come
  11. here we go http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2528494
  12. can't link this, but according to Tim Kurkjian the Whitesox are "extremely" close to landing Soriano for McCarthy, and that it is the perception around the league that it will happen
  13. if we could somehow trade pods and vazquez for soriano itd be an amazing deal but if we lose Bmac I'm pissed
  14. QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) ESPN News just reported the deal, and they mentioned that MacDougal could take BMacs spot if/when he goes to Washington. tell me your joking
  15. hmm this is interesting I wonder what else Kenny has up his sleeve I'm just praying that we don't lose Mccarthy for Soriano...
  16. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) Detroit's August schedule: 17 Straight games vs Winning Teams / 23 out of 26 vs Winning Teams August 7 - 9 - MIN August 11-13 - @ SOX August 14-16 - @ BOS August 17-20 - TEX August 21-24 - SOX August 25-27 - @ CLE August 29-31 - @ NYY September 1-3 - LAA yea but in september I think of their last 10 games or so 6 or 7 are against the Royals
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) I too get upset, but there's nothing we can do about it except keep showing up to games and cheering on the team. Booing accomplishes nothing, and getting all pissed off accomplishes nothing. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it IS just baseball. This is a group of 25 really talented guys (since Widger and Politte are gone), and I have faith they will pull it together. Garland did it after a rough start, Anderson did it after a rough first half, things will fall into place. I think yesterday's game was a great start. It reminded me a lot of 2005. Now if they can just keep that up for most of the remaining games... well I don't think theres anything wrong with venting frustration when I poor my heart into a team like the Whitesox, I think it's natural to feel frustrated when their top-knotch talent is playing like shiit, so I just needed to vent it out so I'd feel better and be able to watch the next game
  18. eh if the coaches want Alomar give him a shot, and if he plays like shiit, then we can berate him like widger
  19. todays game sure made me feel alot better
  20. I'm sick of this losing shiit so we better win today
  21. this isn't a thread about bashing the sox (because I do think they'll improve) so don't think I've gone crazy after reading this it's just that I've tried so hard to stay positive for the past couple weeks, but after going to the game yesterday and seeing them get shelled, then watching another mess of a game tonight, all my frustration must have boiled over I'm generally a pretty calm guy, but after our loss today I completely lost it since I was at a friends house (who were nice enough to understand why I was so pissed) I had to keep it light, but they found a bat for me to take, and I just started bashing anything I could find in his yard out of frustration I know most of you probably will think that is a ridiculous thing to do, but I've just about had it with poor execution and bad fundamental play, and it all boiled over in tonight's game It's time to get it together.
