  1. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Javier Lopez. Dam, you beat me to it.
  2. This deal also leaves KW plenty of time for another deal before the deal line. Time and prospects are one our side. And we know to expect the unexpect for KW. Who knew Riske was available?
  3. KW yet again proves why he is the top GM in baseball. We got Thorton for almost nothing. We get Riske for a retread. Jenks claimed off waivers last year. Neal Cotts was a throw in to a trade a few years back. It is not as though we have payed a high premium for a solid bullpen. I can't wait to see what KW does next.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:32 AM) It's so sad how DUI's mean absolutely nothing in sports now a days, for an actiont that kills so many people every year you'd figure clubs would actually take action against the asswipes who decide to get liquired up and drive their sports cares 100+ MPH around town but no they really don't give a s***. It's just such a sad state of affairs in pro sports these days. Great Post. This is something I would loe to see sports take a stand on since they were sooo quick on the steroids issues. Many of us would lose our jobs with one DUI. Why not these "role models" also known as athletes?
  5. Sec 104 on Saturday, Sec 109 on Sunday I love seeing White Sox fans on this road trip, a force to be reckonned with.
  6. Here's to hoping flasing lights in windows are not tipping Buerhrle's pitches to Rangers hitters this year. Go SOX!!!
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) But he has an ERA of 0.00 in the 9th. I now have a replacement in mind for Jim Hendry. How's the job situation going Brian?
  8. Sox fans pulling for the Cubs? AN oxymoron if I ever heard one. Sounds as absurd as Christians against Christ. Go Cubs?!?!? Hope they are the hottest team in baseball this weekend.
  9. What stands out is something that we all have probably realized a some point this year: Garland should not pitch past the 5th inning.
  10. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Up until this last year wasn't there alot of talk around here about Ortiz? Hasn't he aslo been on KW's radar for quite some time? Yes. Cooper will fix him.
  11. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) Im at work so I can't chat. I'll be back in chat tomorrow night. We forgive you. Somebody threatened to save this chat though. A classic.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) The Rangers station has a whole lot of public announcements for commercials (between the one with the hockey player telling his daughter he loves her, the one with the young girl talking about older boys, and then this past one). The Sexual Abstinence program must not be working in Texas.
  13. QUOTE(Damen @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Is this Jon's first chance to pitch with our actual starting lineup this year? It is. Still, I am afraid that if I watch tonight's game, my blood pressure will reach dangerous levels. The last few times I watched Garland pitch, I had to invent curse words as the usual ones were getting over used.
  14. QUOTE(Heath @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Hey all, I saw your site from the board I frequent - redszone.com - congrats on a great 2005 and a good start to 2006. Looks like you won't be catching our Reds at their hottest. Plus, it gives all you Sox fans the shot to see Junior Griffey in action, which it seems all over the baseball web that Kenny Williams is licking his chops for him to play center Anyway - I figured I could answer your questions. We don't talk to Chicagoans too much around our parts. When you are in the same division as those baby bears, we seem to be a little hesitant of talking to anyone about baseball. In fact, Redszone.com was probably the biggest vocal of cheering that the Sox won the Series just because the Cubs didn't It's a very easy park to get to - take 65 to Indy and catch 74 - take 74 into Cincinnati. 74 dead ends into 75. Follow the signs. There's a great parking map at reds.mlb.com. If you guys want to tailgate, I would recommend the lots to the EAST of the PBS. They are open air lots. A majority of the parking at Cincinnati near the stadium is garages. you can checkout www.redszone.com and click on FAQ at the top. That gives you a little bit of info on what's going around here. There are a few watering holes north of the stadium at the Inn-between or on the Kentucky side of the river. When you get to the game, find the skyline chili stand. Hot Dogs with chili and mounds of cheddar cheese. Local Delicacy like Chicago Dogs. Hope you have a good time. Tell people that you hate the Cubs. You'll have a good time and you'll find that Cincinnati people are mostly friendly. I'll bookmark you guys and you can drop a pm to me if you need to if you have any questions. BTW - you hit the best Reds message board bar none. Accept no imitations. You have legitimate people who are legit fans. We do have some people crying about the weaknesses of Adam Dunn and "idiocy" of our Radio announcer. But, hey, we are in second place, and if you had told Reds fans we would be be in second place in June, we'd have taken it. Enjoy our fair city. Heath, as long as we have a common enemy in the Cubs, you can always call the White Sox friends. Thanks for the info. I loved Cincinnati when I have been their on business in the past. This time, only leisure.
  15. No votes in favor of El Cabello yet. Kudos to Soxtalk!
  16. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Im heading to sunday's game in Cinnci. This is my first time going there. What time would you guys recomend I leave sunday morning? When going inthe past, I have left Chicago at about 3 am and arrived around 9:30. But I drive straight through with no traffic. Don't forget they are on Eastern Time. I will be there Sat and Sun.
  17. SOX WIN!!! PEACE ON EARTH!!!! JESSE JACKSON IS QUIET!!!! :finger
  18. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Great game tonight for BA.......every AB he looked good.....watching pitches, staying calm......looks like some of the confidence is coming back.... Our prayers have finally been answered, ... for one day.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Good job, Tracey. Show some balls. If you're gonna suck, you might as well hit people, too. Amen. I feel the need for the angry Politte pick before we drill him for real. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) I have a feeling we may see a fight before this game is over. Glad to see you, what was the score to the Tigers game?
  20. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) You have to be careful, otherwise the Pro-Tigerfan crowd will come and personally attack you. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!
  21. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) present Glad you are here. Picked a bad game to join us though.
  22. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Anyone know who Peter Gammon's was talking about, I'm pretty sure one of the player's was marte ... but who else? I think he is confused and thinks he is watching the Red Sox v. Yankees.
